Edited by: Alica Wildfire on 28/09/2008 17:39:34 A very ill looking Alica is wearing dark sunglasses when speaking to the cam.
Excuse me for my outburst last night, Subaka. I have to watch my form, but alas, I love dancing and fighting and celebration of victory with my crewmen, with my comrades with my friends. I think some things can be changed easy, some...
She shrugs.
I did not assume that any women or men working in pleasure hubs or station bordellos are forced to do so. But most are, are forced by poverty, by macks or by slavemasters or implants. Very few do this as a calling. But I know that some do. For it's your freedom to sell comfort or pleasures for body and mind. Not a problem for me.
She shrugs again and scratches her hair.
But back on topic. The cause we fight for is to protect the common man, to protect the weak from the strong. Not because of some holy books or a god that dictates it, but because its the right to do. And to take from the poor and give it the rich has no honour in it.
That's like taking away the crutch of an old man and kick him to death when he is lying on the ground. Sometimes you have to defend your system from invaders and when those come to plunder the resources of which your tribe lives and survives, it' quite natural to stop him doing this, even if he is unarmed. Cause that may be seen like something like theft. Sometimes doing this can be right, sometimes it is without honour. It depends on the situation.
But I don't see any value in gate robbery, where simple traders are shot and plundered. No honour, no necessity, and if I blow up a simple Hoarder with a load worth ten millions with a bunch of battleships worth thousand millions, that's low. Do they have nothing better to do with all their power I ask?
If you wanna fight, join the militia, fight for a cause, fight those who are able to shoot back or move out to the zero-zero space and join a corp and try to fight for survival alone. I do not see nor sense nor honour in blowing up simple traders, and alas, I love the rattling of my Autocannons and some call me a bit trigger happy. With wartargets this is different... A war means also to destroy the enemy economy. But this means: militia.
A real warrior is hunting down other warriors. The inapt are hunting down the harmless. Those who have no alternative left may do so, for a capusleer this is not the case and just a cheap excuse for being lazy and without imagination. -- FREEDOM, PUNK & AUTOCANNONS |

*Inara smirks at Alica's condition*
It appears we both have similar reactions to over-indulgence. Bygones..?
As for the pleasure hubs, to each their own, but living in a remote location within your comrades (the Federation) borders has allowed me to see more than a few brothels in place. Their regulations are strict, both for the people working there, and the owners/managers of such establishments, and I find it difficult to see any of them forced into their position by anything... and considering the Federations extreme disdain for slavery, I find that one even less likely than the others. I won't say it doesn't happen, but I will say the circumstances you spoke of are rare at best.
*Inara chuckles as she reads a transcript of Pilot Wildfire's comments to refresh herself*
I don't survive off of honor, I don't fight for a cause, I am a business woman plain and simple. The only honor you will get from me is that I will never lie to you, I will do whatever I can to deceive you, but the words out of my mouth will always be the truth. Those that fight for a cause are oft times blinded by their involvement, they continue fighting when they should tuck tail like a scolded Drooler Hound, or they run to a fight to assist a friend when it would mean leaving a flank unprotected because they feel some need to honor their friend/ally by attempting to help them. I destroy only when other means of profit are denied (someone says they won't pay for their safe passage) or impossible (their ship is impractical to hold stationary long enough for a proper business transaction to take place), I don't go hunting for people, I am a trapper not a idealistic warrior.
Now, don't get me wrong, when other Pilots attempt to disrupt my business, or those with ideals that say criminals in CONCORD's eyes must be destroyed, or even the rare opponent decides they want to move into my territory, where I do business on a daily basis... I will take great pleasure in watching their ships collapse upon themselves as the torpedoes stream from my Raven and bury themselves in their hulls. But why go searching for such things, enough people bring such fights to me.
Just yesterday we had a small group doing business at the gate when a collective of 3 battleship-classed ships came through (we're assuming they were in arms about the loss of a previous transport) with the intention of destroying us all... *Inara grins* The only pilot to make it out with their ship intact was only able to do so with minimal structural integrity remaining, and because of CONCORD's silly notion that aggression should cause a delay in the activation of a Gate; it was close for a bit, in fact we thought a colleague was going to loose his Hyperion in that engagement.
Rancer is my home, I will defend it; but I hold no such ties to any of the 4 nations, I hold no ties to any of their philosophies, I find them all foolish or lacking in some form or another. I have just chosen to tell you why I won't fight for the Matari, if you want to know in more depth, or if you want to know why I don't fight for another nation contact me, we'll sit down and have a glass of Minmatar moonshine, straight from the depths of Metropolis.

<Veron Daerth's face is grave, closed, and cold, his eyes like chips of obsidian shining from beneath his hood>
Miss Subaka... I too live within the confines of the Federation, for now, and I have seen much that I find laudable around me.
What bothers me is that many people of the Federation seem to be more than willing to wring their hands and cry piteously when it comes to matters of forced labor and slavery and the trade of sex slaves, but for all of the special interest and human rights groups that abound in the Federation, for all the liberal political coalitions that weep and whine and beg for donations, few seem willing to actually do anything.
Politicians in the Federation will make a good speech, and will put on a good show of "doing something", and can be counted on to say and do anything they can to garner more votes, but when it comes time to actually kick down doors, thump some heads and, frankly, kick some slaver ass (yes I said it, sue me), the protocols and rules of engagement and the warrants and the permissions and the restrictions make the applicable enforcement of the law impractical to say the least.
I have spoken to many law enforcement members in the Federation, and they seem to have the same complaint. When they get a tip, or have a lead, they cant follow up on it because of "red tape" and the "perp" gets away. Thus, the ones that suffer most are the victims, as usual.
<Veron Daerth's smile grows colder, and harder. His eyes are shadowed, ebon pits promising damnation and pain.>
Thankfully, I am not bound by such laws and restrictions. I have no "red tape" to deal with, and when I find, for example, Angel Cartel garbage operating a pleasure hub in a deadspace pocket in Aunia, featuring enslaved children for acts of a deviant nature... well, they all died for their sins. The slaves I could retrieve serve me now, some of them. The ones with no homes, no family willing to claim them.
<Veron Daerth's smile thaws a bit, is less menacing. His eyes seem to lighten somewhat, becomes more... human.>
No Pi-- ... Miss Subaka, the sins of the flesh run deep in the Federation, and if the right people cant be bought off, then they can be blackmailed and coerced into cooperation. Prominent members of the financial and business sectors as well as politicians and law enforcement, they all are merely human, and susceptible to the call of their lusts.
Do not mistake me, there are many that are good and worthy in the Federation, but there are also many that are not, and their infection allows more to suffer in unwarranted bondage each day. My own daughter could tell you how it works, should you wish to know.
But all is not darkness and despair. There is hope. I know there is. I have faith, if thats not a joke. Each poor slave brought out of abuse and bondage to Lust and Greed and shown the Light of God's Love is a victory, and each soul redeemed is a triumph against Darkness.
May God grant you His Blessings, Pilots.

I find this a most amusing initiative - though I do not question the mind behind it. It is clever to appeal to the lowest common denominator, without doubt. The observer notes, though, that the old falacious adage 'we come for our people' is not the slogan that elicits satisfactory motivation. Should one see a TLF combatant performing better in the field, their motives can easily be tainted.

Take some a few ships out of the gang and into the enemy installations. Then you might be in the running.
You do great work Smog. The TLF slaughter the Amarr in the field, those in the Crusade and those operating outside it. However, that does not gain territory and that is where our focus is lacking.
I know first hand that being a fleet commander is a thankless job. The least others can do is grab your loot for you and give you your share of the loot to cover your running costs. Having someone you trust in a fast ship is usful if those around you ain't doing the right thing.

Gee! I had to drop out of militia for a day, was not M.I.A. but I had to pull in a new small corp of a friend of mine, that is joining our fight for freedom. After that I changed corp again to get back to the frontlines, cause I didn't want to wait for long. The corp that gave me a shelter for the fight is a very small one and I really packed my things and got a small spot to hang up my hammock.
We are no rich people and we of cause lack the glamour of your 17th and I really think I am still not worth to carry the name of a unit like this under my name. But I was with you, fighting the Amarr yesterday and I was tackling and ripping apart some of your targets and all were exploding in the most wonderful way only Amarr ships do. For they are not good for fighting but make a great firework. Gee!
But I am really ashamed that I did not carry a Militant on board yesterday, for of cause I do drop them. By the way, if anyone has some Militants, please let me have some, cause I am using my up with every ship I lose.
And because I had no Militants I refused to get blown up, without intention of cause. I'm a bit ashamed of that, but the Amarr were fleeing so fast that I really couldn't catch up to give them a chance. Funny, but after I'm free of all those silly implants I really fight better. I survived and got more success in battle than ever. But more of that you can read in my log, which I allow to be posted by that Amarr spyware on my ship. If this is the way they wanna have the fight, they get it!
But to get better points until saturday we should not just kick Amarr asses, but gain victory points by capturing and securing system. Even if that is much less fun. If somebody is grouping up for this, I'll join!
And thank you, that I may fight at your side, 17th! Mitar forever! Vodka! Vodka! Vodka! -- FREEDOM, PUNK & AUTOCANNONS |

I agree there Smog - that is very needed indeed. The more Amarr ships we can blow up - the better. However the point really is that we are lacking on the plexing atm - no-one is really going for the plexes while the pvp'ers are going a grand job in keeping amarr docked up.
That's where we need the kind of incentives that Thrace is offering as game mechanics is not providing any.

Hate that. Technicans are telling me something of a four hour downtime of my system. If I did not know better I'd assume treachery.
I WANNA SHOOT SOMEBODY!
By the way: is it true that Amarr ships drop tourists when we blow them up?
And if I might repeat the need of Militants. Please if anybody knows some, it would be nice to send them over to me. Need them as crew. |

As expected, the Matari and their rabble can't see the forest for the trees.
They roam around looking for tactical victories while suffering strategic defeats left and right.
Bloodlust is what motivates these murderers and psychopaths. Sacrifice, duty and obedience are alien to them.
250 million is sufficient isk to legally free hundres of thousands of 'their people', but even such a sum is apparently so meaningless to the bloodthirsty killers of the Tribal Liberation Force that is has not produced any significant changes in their strategy.
The Tribals like to 'liberate' pod-pilots from their ships, but when it comes to releasing Matari slaves, 99% of their pilots doesn't have the motivation to spend as few as 20 minutes each day attack Amarr installations or defending their own.
Even mr. Thrace speaks of attacking or defending installations as a thankless task. How could preventing a Matari installation from falling into hostile hands and saving the lives of thousands of Matari crew from destruction by Amarr warships be ever considered a 'thankless task'? Is the average Matari that blinded by bloodlust that saving a few thousand of his kin is considered thankless and not worth the effort, even if 100mil isk reward is offered? ____

I said being a fleet commander is a thankless task. I did not say liberating enemy installations was. Aside from the moral and strategic benefits there is now a 250mil purse up for grabs, hardly thankless at all. If you are going to lie about what I said it is worth remembering it is on public record.
We are not slave traders. We will not pay slavers a ransom for our kin. That will only fund the terrorism, hostage taking and genocide you people call a holy Reclaiming. We don't trade with slavers. It is as simple as that.
