It's amusing when people try to act as if they have accurate knowledge of an event that happened way before their lifetime.

How very common of you to pass opinions off as facts.
P.S. I've never heard of someone going to war with another in an attempt to "rescue" them. The little I know of politics today would imply that that would be a horrible PR move. Admit you're just a simple bigot underneath those fancy robes.

By the same token, it's only your opinion that he's wrong.
I happen to agree with you, but your argument's going to have to be a good deal better than that meager effort if you want to break through Amarrian armour. Some cold, hard facts might be a good start. -

And the day of darkness was the act of peacefull, civilised beings i suppose? As the saying goes 'you reap what you sow'.
The "Day of Darkness" is a relic of matari oral history and is entirely out of touch with what actually happened in the first Matari-Amarran war.
The biggest storm ever and an invasion force consisting of exactly one freighter per planet with escort on the same day?
Does that sound logical to you? Or perhaps what we have is the oral tradition theme of linking storms to events considered bad, and the oral tradition simplification of events into the stark images in the modern version of the tale.
Really, though. arguing over who had fault first is irrelevant to the events of today. As I said earlier, if we want to look for the first sin, we can go back all the way to the expulsion of the faithful from the homeworld.
What is relevant is that the Amarrians offered peace for over a century. That we were content to let the Matari have their republic in peace while we built our empire in peace. Not a single Amarrian or Matari living today was there at the day of darkness. All of us were there for the Peace.
We offered peace. The Matari took that peace, spent it diverting funds into a secret navy, and then stabbed those who offered peace squarely in the back while at the same time launching a hostile takeover of the Matari Republic.
No amount of spin can make that justified.
Those who embrace the Lord And walk in light Shall be saved by His grace For we are the shepherds in the dark His Angels of Mercy
Those who turn away from the light And walk in darkness Shall be stuck down by His wrath For we are retribution incarnate His Angels of Vengeance

Not only was their homeworld becoming uninhabitable, they had turned also their backs on God...

yes, the Day of Darkness was the act of peaceful, civilised beings.
You know... I had something I wanted to say to this, but I laughed so hard reading this that I can't recall what it was. Your in need of help Blake, really massive mental help, if you honestly believe what you just wrote...
Boy, that was... that's really sets a new level of rich, even for you.

An ideology or religion does not constitute a race, nor does a government. As usual, Blake, your arguments fall flat. Your pathetic carnival sideshow of a corporation never ceases to amuse me. -----

My point was that if your associate were truly motivated by wanting to abolish our religion or ideology, he would be able to elucidate why he wants to see the Empire burn.
However, since he says that he has no reason, we can take that to mean that in fact he wants to see the Empire burn for a reason that he dare not admit to.
Or possibly because he's an insane psychopath. But you wouldn't employ someone like that, now would you?

I did look at the whole, read it even, but the contents of that transmission was just... humorous, to the extreme. I merely picked out the parts that made me laught the loudest. If I were not pressed on time at this moment, I'd work out a reply to your post. Also, I've stil to overcome the marvelous humor of it all.

Oh man, I should go do what I got to do before I get stuck re-reading you message again.
((OOC: Honestly, that was hillarious, even if you did not mean for it to be. Brightened up an otherwise dull day, thanks :P Really, go to go now, bbl.))

Actually, Orun is the one person whose employment is not up to me. Well, technically it is, but if I want to receive funding from the LeHane family back on Intaki Prime, they insist that he sit on the board of directors. Besides, I find that sometimes his witty invective can say something far more effectively than my drawn-out explanations. For instance, everyone knows that you're almost always wrong, but whereas I feel bound to provide a detailed explanation as to why that is, he isn't really bound by this self-expectation and can just let off with some of those brilliant one-liners he seems to save up for just this sort of thing.
Besides, he's my cousin. Who'd kick their own cousin out of their corporation? -----
