Edited by: Atreides Horza on 23/09/2008 05:19:17 Nevermind the boll0x about lack of pvp skill (coming from some ppl, who think flying 50-man blobs makes them experts on anything but how to be just another hiccup in local), and nevermind the bitterness from past victims and ppl being offended that you won't sit still long enuff for them to get their mantrain in position next door.
You do what you do - and apparently, you do it well, judging from the pettiness of those below you in the foodchain, although that's a hard loss right there.
Good read on that story, although I find it slightly g@yer than Richard Simmons in tights that the assailants had to use two supercaps to achieve what could've been handled with a pilgrim, a rapier and a little patience.
Nonetheless, I'm a fan. Even if I hate HICs and the fact that you can't swing a shovel these days without hitting some ****** who seems to think that the ability to fit an onyx with a passive tank = pilot skill. To plunder, to slaughter, to steal, these things they misname empire; and where they make a wilderness, they call it peace. - Tacitus |

Honor among.. er.. non thieves eh?
Great story but this point is easily my favorite part. Shaaaaaaaaady! I, too, am shocked at the BDCI killboard.

That's a god awful fit for that much ISK.
You could use a full t2 passive tank and last much longer, you also have a lovely explosive resist hole going on there.
Surely it would be better to be remote sensor boosted / repped by that (lol stealth bomber) alt than going without a cap booster.
Passive tanked Phobos + Guardian alt would give you the same scan res, more EHP, and better tank all for a fraction of the price. ________________ ANZAC Recruitment - NOW OPEN! |

Good read, I can relate it all and can understand the story because I see Skunk all the time in the region I fly in and know the terror and influence he has on the area LOL. Even though 2 MOMs hotdropped on him, I can testify to a time when him and his cronies made 3 Carrier pilots and the entire support fleet retreat.

Indeed, for the benefit of the crowd i should like to point out that the SCA alliance decided to move into the local area and lasted about 2 weeks before being trounced right out of the area again.
My corp has killed over 190 of them. Utter shambles they are (though it must be said some of their individual pilots are excellent)
They didn't post loss mails (their own killboard shows only 90 losses so 100 went awol), died with extreme comedy fits, had no understanding of how low sec works (I lost count of the amount of interceptors I saw sentry gunned when tackling) and their killboard is flooded with mails ponced off their more proficient allies.
I still have a spy in their alliance( who only logs on every now and then to read their mails) and having the benefit during the conflict of knowing what both sides were saying i can categorically state that the leadership of sca were coming out with lies to their members that would make an iraqi propoganda minister blush.
Anyhow enough sca bashing. Your confused points:

1) first you say to go full passive, then you comment I should have a cap injector fitted. This is contradictory. Why would I fit a cap injector with no armor rep?
2) You need a personal rep. I soloed sometimes in that phobos (only haulers frigs and the like) In low sec there are these things called sentry guns which eat surprisingly quickly into fully passive tanks, necessitating frequent redocks, repair bills etc.
A fully passive tank only really works for an outlaw in lowsec for one off fight heavy soak BS
3) the alt is a prober scoutalt, who can also fly a SB. I use it to probe out logofski pilots. If im quick enough he doubles as a wreck popper to deny the enemy gain. Logistics dont work well in low sec as repping an outlaw at any time initiates a global criminal warning and attracts sentry fire which means to much of the ships resources is forced to be given over to tanking.
4)Your remote sensor boosting idea is all fine and dandy, but dosent work on pounce camps which are the only way to camp low sec succesfully. These work by initiating warp to the gate at the same time the enemy jumps in. You pretty much arrive on the gate as the target is uncloaking, and there is a substantial delay on being able to lock up your tackler to remote sensor boost it after warp in. IE the enemy has warped off by the time you get a remote boost on.
A remote sensor boosting and repping BS to assist the tackler works well in certain circumstances, but we are pirates. We dont have 50 man blobs to cover all eventualities. We double up on roles, fly with low numbers, and make do what we got,
A hic in low sec needs to have a high scan res of his own accord for this reason.
TLDR: Its the best lowsec tackler fit in the game. It killed over 1000 ships, TLDR: One wonders why clueless 0.0 alliance pilots think they have the slightest input of value over lowsec pirate setups.

I've been engaged by that phobos a few times and never been successfully tackled by it. Every single time you engage I neut you and warp off. ________________ ANZAC Recruitment - NOW OPEN! |

Great story and interesting Phobos fit, gives me some new ideas.
So... have you started making a list of all your past misdeeds and do you have a brother who's a bit slow? I can't wait for the next episode of "My Name Is Le Skunk".
