I came here to check before installing, but no one had anything to say, so I took one for the team.
The update to 10.5.5 works just fine on my official Cider client!

As the current inability to support Premium graphics appears to be the OS rather than WINE (which works just fine with Premium under Linux) 10.5.5 may finally have the fixes necessary to allow Premium graphics. With that said I set out and did some testing:
Darwine 1.1.2: EVE doesn't run (I don't recall it ever working on plain Darwine though)
Official EVE client: Doesn't support premium (duh)
OEC hacked up with Spore's Cider implementation: Doesn't show Premium as blocked, but lacked a menu to let me activate it either.
Crossover Games: Premium mode works, but not correctly. Stations and stargates are invisible. I know this was a WINE problem at one point, I'm wondering if it's the WINE or the drivers. If it's the former, then it may be possible to get Premium working if/when Codeweavers publishes a new version. However right now CXGames is slower overall than the official EVE client when running the DX7 client, so I'm not sure this would be any faster. It's CPU limited, I'm not sure what's going on.

If anyone here has a Mac with dedicated graphics hardware (i.e. it's not an Intel GMA950/GMA3100) I'd be curious to hear if you have any luck on CXGames and Premium. It could very well be an NVIDIA thing for example, and ATI cards will run Premium just fine. You can grab the CXGames trial here. You will need to enable GLSL, as documented here.
On a side note, I was hoping that 10.5.5 would improve EVE's overall performance. It's CPU limited and yet it's hitting some fairly low framerates here on my Hackintosh. It is actually the other way around: your official Cider client works just fine on the 10.5.5 update.
The most interesting question, however, is another one: how's it going, so far, under Snow Leopard? Unfortunately, as I'm currently unemployed, I did not renew my ADC (it was either that or EvE <grin>) and did not attend the WWDC. Anyone trying it?

I'm getting some odd graphics behaviour since upgrading to 10.5.5; the in-station graphics has changed to looking like a night scene, with partially ( at best) rendered interior images, and I *SWEAR* it's also managed to undo all my personal settings for Eve.

Yep that's my setup - 2.33 C2D with 4 gig and the x1600.

[Edit] Mapbrowser's still a mess. Still, the update seems to have yielded a net benefit. Whoo!

Same setup here, only with 2GB of RAM -- station interiors are rendering incorrectly, but everything else seems to be rendering fine aside from that, so it's not really a show-stopper for me.

Same station bug, also my map seems a little screwed up. All the stars stay as points no matter much I zoom in, or change settings (number of people in Jita, etc). Also, Jump lines are no longer displaying.

Yup, exactly the same graphics weirdness for me after the 10.5.5 update. Also tried to play around the cedega graphics settings for graphics memory ie. if not enough to render textures, but no luck there either.

Graphics on my system have gone nuts after the 10.5.5 update. Especially inside the station everything is jumbled up in the background.

Damn, I'm so glad I have time machine. Ran into this problem as well and immediately switched back to my last backup... Guess I'll be waiting with the update to 10.5.5 til this bug is fixed.

What are you dumb, or slow? Just because you do not have a problem, but number of others do, is not a "corrupted client after OS patching." Clients were reinstalled, and the problem is still there, specifically on a number of ATI cards, post 10.5.5 Update.

Funny thing about that: because I was using the Mac client, I very clearly couldn't use the logserver tool. They also seemed to have ignored the two rather verbose log files taken by my computer that I had attached to the ticket.

Yeah, had that too. That's why I don't ever bother with bug reports anymore.

Well, my BH used the "Sorry, did not notice you were using Mac" line as well, when they informed that they added the problem to the list. Although, I did specify in the Bug Report body that it was a Mac Client.
Oh well, I wonder what Sharkbait is doing these days... sure miss him, whenever I had a significant issue and went looking for him, or called his name he would appear, like Beetlejuice.
