I hope the tech gurus at CCP are reading...My computer is crashing while playing EVE. It does not happen regularly which makes it hard to diagnose. Once in a while the screen goes black and shuts my entire computer down. I run games like COD4 and Crysis for hours on full settings and have no problem. My system is as follows:
- Windows Vista Ultimate (32 bit)
4 GB ram 2.4 GHz Core 2 8800 GTX Graphics card Creative Audigy 2 Pro sound card *this PC is NOT overclocked
I appreciate your time and help.

I've been crashing alot lately. Hopefully its not EVE, but I don't do much else with the primary computer. My primary is down now. I really need someone to contact Hawkeye Bobb, or Miner40 Mann and let them know I'm offline due to BOOT UP problems. I'd really appeciate it, Thanks....Debrue

I've had following problem for the last 5-6 weeks: I keep crashing without a warning every now and then without even most of the time knowing it myself untill after 20-30 secs when nothing happens. This happens with 1 or multiple clients on and all EVE clients crash at the same time if it happens. Could be that I am able to play smoothly for an hour or then only 5 mins. Crash happens without any logical explanation: when docked doing nothing, middle of the fighting, looking for assets etc etc. But can be that I can wonder around JITA markets with 700 peeps in the system without any problems.
Here is my configuration: -ASUS A8N-SLI -4 GB RAM -AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ -Creative Audigy2 ZS Platinium -Club 3D 8800 GTS 512 MB -Windows XP (service pack 3)
5-6 weeks ago I managed to contaminate my computer so that parts of the windows went nuts and thus I had to reinstall everything on my PC (did the Format C). After that the problem started. Before the reconfiguration I had no problems what so ever. Was able to run even 3 premium cliants on at the same time with multiple things on background for example music, EVE mon, firefox server, excel files etc etc.
I have checked that all the drivers are latest versions. Only difference afaik actually is that the service pack 3 was not present on the previous config. I have reinstalled EVE clients 3 times and done as many duplicates as I have cliants. I never play with sound on. I have even tried with another set of video drivers without any difference. I have tried without any other (visible and known) application on. I have F-Secure Internet security 2008 virus killer and Malware bytes anti-malware program which both show that my PC is clean.
I took my router off and connected directly to the modem and what I noticed it that I receive 32 byte packages from EVE server back nice and smooth (sometimes max 1 pct loss) but when sending 1460 bytes packages I loose average 30 pct of them. Ok, I called the ISP (I have 5M cable) and spoke with them but they are saying the problem is on my end (well that is an obvious first answer from them). I have tested the pinging with my other computer (lap top not able to run EVE) and receive the same results.
Now before I declare war towards the ISP I'd like to hear opinions from people: What in the earth could cause this provided it is caused by my computer?
Once more I need to mention that before the reconfiguration everything was running 100 pct smooth without any crashes.

turn off your sound in game (don't turn it down to 0 just turn it off) if that fixes it you need to reinstall your sound drivers

This is happening to me too. I get an error sometimes, box pops up and says ccp.exe error, then shuts down. Mostly happens during the time I am in the middle of a mission and fighting. I also run COD4 and other games with no issues, just this game for some reason. I guess I will have to put up with it for now but it would be nice to find the fix. I will try the sound thing now and post if it helps.

Yea mines been acting up too. I can play STALKER on Extreme settings without any problems, and my graphics card just recently started to shut off due to eve. Checked my RAM updated all drivers, and im still getting this issue. I think it had to due with a .dmp file but ive deleted the mall and also upgraded my windows, nothing seems to work.

A general shutdown, without a BSOD or a restart, may indicate a faulty or underpowered PSU.
EVE seems to me like a real "heat hog", according to other threads and personal experience. This in turn (heat build up) indicates that the game is putting a lot of stress on your pc.
EVE is the only application (one or two clients running) that makes my 8800GT fan rev up, and this is in an Antec P180-case with good airflow pass through.

If this is the case, it has nothing to do with EVE or CCP.
Then you have a hardware problem.

I get the same thing. Everything is going fine and then without warning (usually in high-action scenarios) the client locks up for a second and then a blue screen appears for less than a second and then, next thing I know my PC is rebooting. Here are my specs.
Intel Core 2 Quad 2.40 GHz 3.25 GB of RAM nVidia GeForce 9600 graphics card and chip.
Like I said, everything looks nice and my FPS doesn't slow down or anything. My client just crashes without warning. Anyone know what the deal is?

You claim that your BIOS settings has been reset to default values. EVE can in no way what so ever have that effect on your computer, ever. Think again my friend.
And lay of those stupid, ironic statements in the above quotation, it doesn't help your cause the slightest. You only degrade yourself in front of other readers.

You have to turn off automatically reboot on BSOD events, write down the error message, search the web for answers or come back here so we can try helping you with this issue. I've supplied info about this manouver earlier on the forum, or try Google it.

I've also been having problems with random crashes when running both single and multiple clients. I've reinstalled the game, updated all the drivers, turned off the sound and had my pc hardware tested to ensure all working fine but am still getting random crashes anywhere between twenty minutes and two hours. The game normally just freezes and I have to manually reboot however the other day I got the following message when running two clients:
Problem signature Problem Event Name:APPCRASH Application Name:ExeFile.exe Application Version:5.11.0.60424 Application Timestamp:489c7f13 Fault Module Name:nvd3dum.dll Fault Module Version:7.15.11.7519 Fault Module Timestamp:482e0de8 Exception Code:c0000005 Exception Offset:002ec015 OS Version:6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1 Locale ID:2057 Additional Information 1:fd00 Additional Information 2:ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160 Additional Information 3:fd00 Additional Information 4:ea6f5fe8924aaa756324d57f87834160

I have Widows Vista Ultimate 64 bit with SP1 installed, 4gig ram and an 8800GTX card which seems to be cropping up a lot in these issues pages. Anyone any ideas?

"nvd3dum.dll" is part of the Nvidia-driver, so basically it's that driver that's crashing.
Try uninstalling all Nvidia related, reboot and install again.
What are the spec:s of the rest of your hardware?

I've got the same problem as you mate. And still trying to catch it...
Here is my sysinfo:
- Windows Vista Ultimate (64 bit)
4 GB ram 3.2 GHz Core 2 8800 GTS Graphics card Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer sound card 750W PSU
I can't remember when I see this problem first - somewhere in august. There is no problem on the same config under WinXP 32-bit.

Esheleen has problem with a Nvidia graphics driver.
That link you've dug up, primary refers to "blue.dll", which is, AFAIK, a Python or in some other way a database dll for the EVE program itself. Later in the thread it wander of to other errors, but those doesn't seem related to the main issue of that thread in particular.
But do bugreport if you experience strange errors and behaviour.
