Hello All, I am a new forum poster... this is my first time using a forum, so please tell me if I am screwing up, and placing this in the wrong section. Also excuse my spelling and strung together sentences, its never been my strong point. Just Imagine a well worded question, and pretend like you understand what I mean I am new to eve. My account has been active for 3 months, and I have been trying to get as much time in as I can ( sometimes an hour, other times all day ). My question here is this: Is there any good way of making money, that is pretty safe, and doesn't have many setbacks. I have gone through the market, looked at general prices, and it seems like any way I choose to go ( to make money ), it would take a very long time to gain enough ISK. So far I have tried mining... which was going well with my little frigate. I mined plagioclase, and reprocessed it, selling the goods. Since hauling all of this back takes time, and seemed to bring about 200k isk per hour, I decided to shoot out my little jet can and put my ore into that ( at this point I had an industrial ). As soon as I had filled up the can, some guy comes in with a big old battleship and switched my can with his, and made it so if I took my ore, I would die. I thought that I might be able to get away with my little industrial before he could kill me, by waiting until I just warped, but ended in failure. Unable to think of any other way to boost profits ( without leaving an industrial ship afk mining a asteroid and dying via the very weak npcs ) with mining, I decided to head off to missions. I first looked around for a combat missions, thinking that it might be exciting. The first mission I got was one that would award me 200k! (I was very happy thinking this wouldn't take long). I'm a gallente, but I fly amarr *pew pew*, so I warp in with my little lasers. There are about 12 people. I think I can take them, but my little lasers cant even get through half of one of their shields, and I die ( dying because of me failing to buy a better internet connection, lagggg... ). I was okay, I got my little frebe ship, and decided to abandon the mission, thinking that another mission would be easier. Well, the mission person wasn't very happy with my general attitude, and didn't give me another mission, so I had to find another. I decided to take courier missions. This did manage to succeed for awhile.. until they courier "accountant" person decided she was in the mood to blow some people up to get back their loans, or whatever, I don't know, but she didn't want to, so it was my job. Of course, the little tech 1 mission sends me up against cruisers, which ended again in the person to never to forgive me and though me out on the streets. My final "idea" of making money, was to do what happened to me a couple of times ( when wandering in low-sec a little too long ). I thought I could score mega cash ( like these people who were charging 20mil for my pod, and forgetting that I didn't update my clone, darn ). Anyway, I equip my frigate for battle, and of course, being noobish, realize that I don't have any sort of scrambler until I'm in the middle of battle, and by the time I completed that thought my ship was smoking... in space... and the inevitable death ( with the ever plentiful lag ) came. After this huge ramble, that was unneeded, and my inability to press the delete key, I hope you have an idea of what I'm attempting to ask: Is there a way to make money where a person who has trouble turning his modules on/off can do without dying and ending up losing money each time. Thank you all that can help me! The reason I have stuck with this game even due to my inabilities is because its crazy awesome, even if my ship is a firecracker.

I've done missions, mining, ratting etc etc. I've found that missions pay off the best. What I'd suggest is use the best ship you can, be it a frigate or other ship that can be used for combat, and run level 1 missions, preferably combat. You will find many stations around in the system you are in, and most of those will have agents, mostly unusable by you though. You can dock at a station, click it's little information icon and check what agents they provide, and try to find one with a lot of combat type agents, ranging in all levels, lv1-2-3-4. Once you find a decent one, head out to the largest quality agent, agents have both level and quality rating, for you level 1 is for frigates and destroyers.
Once you find a mission start it and head in, focus on one ship at a time, you should be able to kill atleast one, your problem might be you started as Gallente and went Amarr, I'd suggest go with Gallente for a while since you'd have skills relating to them. Equip an armor repairer, weapons, ammo, any resistance boosting modules, maybe an afterburner, then head out to fight. If you find yourself in trouble, you can always warp to a station, dock to regenerate your shield and capacitor, undock to repair your armor with the armor repairer then warp back into the mission.
Alternately, you could mine while training skills to use a destroyer which shouldn't take you long, then use that to fight in level 1 missions, this should be quite easy for most missions. |

where are you running missions? if you're getting such horrendous lag then you might want to find an agent in a more out of the way system |

Go back to doing missions, but this time, have a little more persistence. You probably were tanked wrong, and in a bad frigate.
Try using a punisher, and train to use Energized Adaptive Nano Membranes. Also, train Small Armor Repairers, and train for an afterburner so you can get close enough to kill them.
Have fun! |
