I am looking to make a major move distance wise to my first PC corp. Now, I want to keep ties where I am situated right now. I have a couple buddies who aren't coming with me, but I still would like to be able to pop in and say hi and help out their mining ops.
So I am looking at setting up a jump clone in my current region with an NPC corp I have an 8.0 rating with.
How do I find out who is selling jump clones in my current region, and how do I go about setting up that clone in my current region with that NPC corp I have the 8.0 rating with?
On an associated note, how is the training rate affected when you are in a jump clone? My base body has +3 implants across the board but for PvP purposes my jump clones will have none.
So when I am in my jump clone, do I learn at the rate of someone with no implants, or someone with +3 implants?

Edited by: Matalino on 14/08/2008 16:54:29 You can buy a jump clone at any station that has medical facilities, provided that you have the needed 8.0 standings. You can use this site to search for stations meeting your requirements. Beware, not all NPC corps have stations with medical facilities.
Once you have purchased a Jump Clone, you can easly relocate it to any station where you can dock, regardless of it having medical facilities or your standings with the owner.
Jump Clones are basicly alternative bodies. You are never actually in your Jump Clone, as when you jump, that which was previously a Jump Clone becomes active and a new Jump Clone is left behind containing any implants that you had prior to your jump. This is the key to relocating a Jump Clone, you simply jump out of the station where you wish to have a jump clone.
In order to jump you must pause skill training. You can resume training immeadiately upon completing the jump. The rate of training is set by the implants in your head. If you want training to remain the same, you will need to install a second set of implants into the extra body.

If your NPC station has a medical bay it sells jump clones.

bring up the map and select Services, cloning, you can see systems with stations with medical facilities highlighted in red. You can create JC's for 100k each
When you clone jump your target clone becomes your main and the clone you jumped from becomes a clone.
you don't benefit from implants in other clones.
you can move your clones to any station once you jump to them so long as you don't have 2 in the same location, or jump to a clone in the same station.

Thanks folks. Using the web site that Matalino suggested (great site, BTW)I have just come to the realization that the NPC corp that I built up a rating of 9.35 with does NOT have medical facilities at ANY of its 30 stations.
Can this be possible? Could someone confirm that for me? It is Roden Shipyards, and that website shows no blue bars in the medical slot.

Using that same site, you can add a filter for stations with the cloning service. That filter will drop all 30 stations, so yup, Roden is one of those corp's to beware of that does not have any medical facilities.

Most appropriate.
Hopefully your faction standings are high enough that you can jump strait into level 4 agents with another corp. If that is the case, it shouldn't take too long to get your corp standings up high enough with them to install a jump clone.
Otherwise, check with your new corp to see if they can offer jump clones: if the corp as a whole has 8.0 standings you can use that to create jump clones.
If not, check out the sell orders forum as there are jump clone services that will let you join their corp so that you can create jump clones.

Actually, I am being a little melodramatic. It is now going to be just very inconvenient, rather than impossible, to get jump clones. My new corp does indeed have an NPC corp that I can get jump clones from. However, that location is 26 jumps away. I also have a 7.35 rating with another NPC in the same system I am in now, that does have medical facilities. Connections III and blitzing some missions should get me up to 8.0 in a short time with them, I hope.

Wow, I am glad you brought this up before I continued grinding up my standings any farther with Astral Mining...
That said, I just did some data mining on the older data dump, and found that (assuming nothing has changed) CONCORD, Impro, Chemal Tech, Expert Distribution, and Ishukone Corp are probably the best suited for cloning purposes. Most have cloning facilities in space controlled by five different factions (CONCORD has facilities in space controlled by six). None have cloning facilities in less that 11 different regions, 14 constellations, 24 systems, or 30 stations.
Caldari Business Tribunal also looks quite good, while it has facilities in space controlled only be four factions, it has them in 12 regions, 15 constellations, 53 systems, and 74 stations! (and the average security rating is .635)

Don't forget that you only need standings with the corporation, and in fact a med bay, to install the initial jump clone. After that you can move it anywhere you like through the process of using the clone (jump into the clone, fly it to wherever you want, and jump back).
In fact once you've set up jump clones, you can never lose them - thus the locations of the stations with medical bays are a very minor point, compared to whether they have any at all or not. In fact it would almost certainly be better to continue working with a current corp and then have to travel 30 jumps or so to create the clone, rather than start raising standings with another corp that had a more local clonebay.

Exactly!
A useful bit of data mining would be to form a list of all the corps that do not offer medical facilities so that it can be provided as a warning against new players looking to get jump clones.
To the OP - glad to hear that you are not to put out by this incovience.

I didn't even think about the jumping back bit, I was thinking that way you would be more likely to have a facility close by to travel to normally. While I suppose it is not as much as an inconvenience as I thought, it would still save you from having to use up the one jump for the day.
