I think i've watched enough movies to not be moved by much anymore, hell i'm one of those annoying guys who always know what happens next.
But damn. the ending was phenomenal. I think i'll read the novela.
I enjoyed wittnissing the religious-political-instinctive dynamic that occoured in the supermarket. And was pretty jolted by the ending.
What are your thoughts about the movie? -

This. As a whole the movie was average. For the most part it sucked, but near the end it started to shine which made up for most of the suckiness. ---

I really liked this movie, and you're damn right when that religious nutter died everyone in the cinema i was in jumped up and screamed "YEAAAAHHHH! FINALLY!"
Dunno why the ending shocked so many people, i kinda predicted something like that happening about 30 minutes before it did. __________________

You LIKED the ending? I couldnt have been more frustrated with it. If the idiot had waiting for one more minute, his family would have been alive ffs.
Best part of movie was when the religious nut got shot.

I have to like any movie that does away with a deliberately comfortable ending. So many times I've been close to imploding because a stupid ending was tacked on to a movie to make it palatable.
That aside, the movie was reasonably standard scifi/monstor horror movie, but the ending made it all worth it.

You're right, idiocy is not comfortable to me. So sue me.
Joking aside, I think they could have made the end more interesting without the guy doing the single most idiotic thing known to man...

I agree it was a nice change from the typical Hollywood ending. I normally like unpredictable endings, such as when the "bad guys" really wins (doesnt happen too often unless the "bad guys" are really designed to be the heroes of the movie).
For example... Heat. Pacino should have died. Much better ending. ---

Thats not the point. Thing is, they wanted to decide when and HOW to die, and not getting eaten by some monster. The moment the chances to NOT GET EATEN by some fricking monster was gone, they killed themselves. And the looser survived.
A religious ending, like the whole movie, because it tells you that SUICIDE is never a good move out.
Thats why i didnt like it as a movie (the ending was good), because all americans allways do in movies is fricking religious stuff, even in horror/monster movies. Terrible.
Dont get me wrong, nothing against americans, but sometimes i think they still are 100 years behind Europe where religion is no theme anymore. Man, even presidents in the US have to always use GOD or they dont win elections ;)

The point is that that moment had not come yet. They could have stayed in the car for a long time and still had the option to take their own lives when the monsters would have found them. No monsters were even near them. Its like a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to protect his friends, while first throwing the grenade...
Anyway, yes, it was very religious and state and church are clearly not separated in America. The presidents believe in God and that he has blessed their country. It wouldnt disturb me if it werent for the fact that they are still doing crusades.

Sry, but thats wrong thinking there. They know whats in the mist and even if you dont see it, its there and the moment you go out your death (see what happens to ppl who leave the supermarket). Then, how long do you want to wait? As far as you know there is no salvation comming, plz try to put yourself into the characters. They havent seen the ending yet ;) and dont know that the mist ends soon. All what they know is they are stuck there, monster tentacles out there and no chance to reach the next town or anything.
So you dont wait 3 days till you get crazy because you starve, or because you are 5 ppl in a mini car. You do what you think best now. It was wrong in the end, but thats how things go sometimes.

If it was me, and it was real life, I would have waited until the last possible moment and not killed my family after 5 minutes. ---
