ok this is my second thread on morrowind, last one was about mods because i was getting back into the game, and i recently found this and i have to say if the only reason you never tried te game is because of the way it looks...well...some people have been working on it and heres what it looks like ingame nnow 0_o
they made a 3rd party app that adds distant land like in oblivion along with alot of other sweet graphic enhancements here

Sorry for a potentially ignorant question, but are those mods only for the computer game or do they have them for download on the 360 also. I do not even know if that is possible.
P.S. Those graphics are friggan awesome.

only for computer sadly, as the program you sue to do it does somthign with all the mods you ahve installed and actually creates meshes and textures to add in the distant land, and yes that ss from above is from ingame

I remember the graphics looking good when it first came out.
I didn't play because I didn't like the game play.

Meh. Daggerfall was great. Morrowind was good. Oblivion was pretty lolwut. I always preferred Gothic, anyways.
Nice graphics update though, I might have to reinstall.

I liked gothic 3, but eventually gave up in frustration due to the combat system.

I gave up on Morrowind after getting half through it and my savegame turning corrupted. After finishing Mass Effect recently I've been annoyed that I have no real offline stuff left to play from now till about the Spore release. I thought of restarting Morrowind because unlike Oblivion I did like it. Now I don't have to have the graphics stop me anymore.
Do you by chance have any mods to recommend that improve the character looks to match the area's as I assume this mod doesn't do that?

Edited by: P''uck on 13/08/2008 15:06:16 alright, maybe ill give morrowind another go. i finished it long ago with a lowlevel character that doesnt wear armor, because there is this little "exploit" that basically gives you total power over the AI:
you enchant weapons with a very shortly timed "Chamaeleon self". The good part: this works without ANY problems on EVERY weapon type, be it short ranged or long ranged. also, the "soul energy" or whatever it'S called is very cheap. so you basically can enchant a cheap weapon with a cheap soulstone and still almost always have enough charges for the effect.
And here is what it does: the triggered chamaeleon spell on yourself is like a successful "sneak" roll. the AI's standard reaction for enemies that disappear during combat is to back up. sometimes it even looks as if they get surprised by your sudden disappearance and they flee in panic. edit: and when you reappear, they reapproach. done correctly, they are only close to receive a blow, never to deliver one.
its somewhat crucial-ish to get the timing down: weapons with higher rof can have a shorter duration of the chamaeleon spell and it still works. I dont know if they EVER patched up the AI, but in case they havent, this spell, some HP and maybe a dodge now and then (when it comes to casters and archers) can bring you through the game at a rather low level.
And once we discovered that, morrowind sort of lost it's attraction. (well, the bartering thing didnt help, either. it was too easy to have unlimited stuff)
anyways, enough of me and my h4xploiting ways, and on to the questions i hope you guys can answer for me:
I have the ubisuck "eXclusive" edition of the game. thats a budget thingy, without any patches or expansions, i bought it for like 9 euros or something waaaaaay back. the worst part is, it's completely german I understand what they are saying, but i hate localizations. also those ubi exlusive budget titles (published by rondomedia) sometimes are versions that dont take normal patches, but require special ones. (ill have a look at the rondomedia page right away, coming to think of it)
anyways: .) can i get the game back into it's english original version? .) which version of the graphic extender can/should i use (i dl'ed the newest version, there was no mentioning of blood moon, which i dont have i think) .) can/should i download the official expansions? .) any mods you would recommend? mostly i dont like mods, im a fan of vanilla games for several reasons, but i wouldnt mind some changes to the original version. mostly stuff that turns the game more into a "survival simulation", ie, food, temperature, exhaustion.
in case you can help me out with my questions, thanks in advance o7

Crap, I don't have that one. But there's a guard mod that is really funny to use. Maybe I'll post it.

I played the X-Box version and yes those were the only thing I could complain about other then when I found high priced items I could only sell them for what the buyers had in gold which was never very much. So I ended up killing someone taking their house over and storing all my loot. That place was so packed by the time I beat the game it was like a Morrowind Museum Of Military History.
