Maybe it will surprise you but it was initial plan. To attack Hydra alone when NC is occuppied with BoB in Deklein. Saving us the pleasures of lag.
We can fight outnumbered, even with 1:4 mods but it requires lag-free game. When fighting heavy outnumbered you need to rely on skill of FC and skill of pilots. Sadly in lag heavy environment you can't rely on it.
We didn't get many fights from Hydra despite them being three times of our size. Instead they brought a blob from north.
From their point of view it's perfect plan and it seems to work. I wouldn't complain at all should it not bring a huge game breaking lag.
So yes, I hope that BoB puts more pressure on NC. I hope they will cut the NC blob in Vale in half so I can actually warp/lock/reload in less then 15min and enjoy the game. |

And the NC wonders why everyone wants them dead...
Diverting your main fighting forces to fight a 600 man alliance by making systems unplayable. GG.
But the real loser here is, of course, the NC. GBC will chew through Deklein, IRON will die, and the rest will fall like dominos. But that really is up to the NC to prevent, no amount of sensible advice from others can make up for their strategic shortcomings.

I have to correct you Butter Dog; we are now with the addition of Exceed. just a bit more than 900 in TRI. Just so you aren't trolled by the first character that looks us up ingame or whatnot.

Well meanwhile seems the drone triumvirate (russians+ed+irc) seem dismantling iron sov 4 constellation in malpais. As Bob is attacking i30, dont think triumvirate drawing pure/mm/allies forces to vale was pointless.
Iron without space...a dream coming true. Seems nap everything in range of 5000 ly is a good way to fight tbh. |

The NC had by my count at least 40 dreads I would say maybe more in C-F with carriers on top of that.
If I were Bob I'd take good advantage of this, if NC has 300 people down here in Vale then thats 300 thats not there to defend VFK.
Most TRI posts in this thread basicly translates into this:
"I dont mind fighting outnumbered and this is what we want. Stop saying that I am whining, its just that its laggy honest. btw: I just _have_ to mention the ratio every single second, and how well we did in regards to that ratio, and mumble a little about how pathetic that makes the NC.
But even though we dont care about space and just want good fights; BoB save us plz?"
Advice: stop chestbeating about numbers, just fight and give battlereports. If you win 10vs100 we will notice it. You wont have to mention it. You will earn more e-peen respect by not being so blatantly obvious about it.
Readers arent dumb, however you wrap in what I so harshly wrote up there you come out blatantly obvious. |

So you fell love with useless alliance offering roadkill space+possible titan jsut to make them help you out, giving pure space for th aid and throqing money left and right to save the right to rat and mine.
Have you thought that becoming a renter for a competent alliance might solve all your nightmares and make you fell better when you go to bed ? |

If everyone with your attitude quit the game, it would improve EVE greatly.
Alas, the cowardly 'blob them until it takes 15 minutes to activate a module' mentality is what the NC basically stand for. And that is why everyone wants you dead.

Edited by: gamarus on 21/08/2008 09:19:52 Very well a report of last nights battles has been requested!
(This will naturally be from the TRI perspective) Around 1800 eve time a formup was called in TVN. Ships of choice: our trusty nanoswarm. Attendance was somewhat lackluster with a maximum of 85 pilots compared to the 150 tuesday but focus today would be on the NC supportgroup and any stragglers from the capship group. We got into C-FP and engaged in the first of many skirmishes i believe it was on our ingate, 1-G. This first battle was fairly laggy, with around 300 in local and caps entering their first siege. but some GM must have had his sights on the system, because after this first engagement things ran smoothly with maybe 10-15 secs loadlag when posses weren't involved and 3-5 secs modulelag, and that as said with around 300 in local. Many skirmishes were faught over the next coupple of hours, till finally the TRI fleet would hold the field after each engagement. Shortly after, the NC caps cynoed out, welther that was because they had run out of posses to shoot, the time of the day or the fear that we would turn our attention to them I can not say. But this led to the last big engagement of the night in C-FP; as the caps were cynoing; out a moros and a chimaera was caught by a bubble and we dropped out around the tower. Our orders were to get range to the caps, keep them on the field and prepare for the NC support. They came in, probably warping straight to the moon, and we engaged them. Their sole focus seemed to be to remowe the tackles on the caps and in that they succeeded but at a fairly steep price. (Our FC was his usual irate mood when loosing tackles on caps ) The NC support regrouped and jumped into T-ZW. This was spotted and before they had time to get off the gate we were among them. In moments 5 dictor bubbles (3 must have been NC) encapsulated the C-FP gate in T-ZW and a furious 7 minute battle ensued. In that little skirmish alone, more than 30 ships perrished (both sides but split with 7 TRI and rest yellow. With Exceed. now in TRI 3:1 kills seems reasonable), and another 5 NC ships were probed down in the aftermath. I went home to TVN after this engagement. The time must have been around midnight EVE time. I don't think any in the support fleets (TRI and NC) had more than 30 minutes down time in that 4 hour period. I understand that the 2 towers that came out over the night were both saved and are fully operational again, extending our presence in Vale I look forward to tonight, where several towers will come out of reinforced in our shared primetime. See you all on the field. |

I don't see why people are so down on Hydra for calling in help?
Hydra have never proffessed to be PvP Ubers, they know their strengths and weaknesses, as do their friends, killing Hydra is walk in the park for Tri, but taking their space, thats a different matter, you cant expect their freinds to sit by idle, no one wants Tri as neighbours after all.
I have a lot of respect for Tri, and like many of their members (although the percentage of Tri peeps i like has fallen a little since BE joining them ), but tbh the smack and arrogance that have accompanied their killing of Hydra is pretty stupid.
Tri shouldn't be boasting and lording it over Hydra just because they have them beaten, because Hydra have the one thing that Tri doesn't posess, and thats the ability to build good relationships. That is the reason I suspect that come the end of this tussle, Hydra will still own 0.0 space, and Tri won't. |

What's preventing us from just sieging all those systems again when the blob leaves? Stont and towers are cheap :p And getting 1000+ kills a week ain't to bad either for a relatively small alliance.
The NC is only throwing in their own windows with this, after stating a couple of times that they love it to have us as neighbours. My guess is that they need an "easy" victory atm to keep morale up and people logging in for the fight against BoB. |

Some of the more level-headed NC leaders do indeed want that. It keeps their carebears on their toes, and keeps their PvPers occupied and prevents them leaving because everything else within 100 jumps is blue.
Also, Eddz, you're missing the strategic flaw in their current plan. IRON, a much more important NC ally than Hydra, are having all their stations removed in both the drone regions (Solar, xxxxXXXxxdeath, etc) and Deklein (GBC).
If the NC actually diverted their main force which is currently deployed against TRI, towards BoB or the Drone coalition... they might actually stop IRON being removed from the Sov map within the next week or two.

Butter.
I won't pretend to fully understand whats going on in Ze North, but its been said that BoB will return at some point to their home, I guess thats what the NC are relying on as far as Deklein etc, and it doesnt seem like totally unreasonable logic to me, whereas Tri pose a more permanent threat.
As for the NC keeping Tri as a chained Bull in the garden, if the chain breaks, that pet could do some serious damage in the main house.

Well... TRI alone against the NC is never going to be a serious threat because NC know they can outblob TRI with 5:1 numbers whenever they choose.
Also, its dangerous to speculate when BoB may or may not go home, and base a strategy on that, don't you think? We don't know who else will emerge to fill any potential vacuum in GBC's wake. |

I guess they thnk that their is no one BoB can install in the North that the NC cant beat, the only entities that the NC could lose a war vs are BoB, Goons and themselves.
They probably feel taht if they hold together through this, BoB eventuallly will go home.. unless they intend on moving there permanently, in which case NC could just go live in Delve hehe |

Well I think the NC are a bit like dominos, once one of the stronger NC alliances fall, the rest follow.
And human nature being as it is, people will just migrate to other alliances. Sure, there will be a hardcore of people who will stay on, but if the NC in its current form collapses, it's very hard to predict what the outcome might be.
Infighting, new alliances, migration, people taking time out the game, etc.... Of course the hardcore within the NC will claim that will never happen, just like the hardcore in INSRG said we would never leave Venal and disband |

Actually I think The NC strategy is sound, provided they get a quick victory in Vale. That will free up atleast Pure. to bolster their numbers in Deklein, whereas if TRI is left alone, Hydra will fall and Pure. will be threatened in their Vale possesions. The obvious danger is that IRON collapses in Deklein and the GBC rolls into say Tribute or worse, they fail with their mass attack in Vale and the GBC pushes on in Deklein. In that scenario the Russians will keep nibbling dronepossesions, possibly carry on into Vale (I am sure what the result will be of a shared TRI - Goon border - thats a blob we can't shake in a week). GBC will eventually take Deklein, then eighter attack Branch or Tribute endangering the core of the NC, and TRI will rocket through all the northern regions, avoiding big blobs where possible but catch carrier after carrier, forcing the induvidual NC alliances to resond time and time again and or to bleed alot af assets.
Anyways, tl;dr the NC strategy is sound, without it and if it fails/stretches too long they face possible eviction from their territories. |

Edited by: EzSnake on 21/08/2008 12:20:13 I joined IRON to fight the against the supposed 'best', but IRON/NC fail to try fighting.
NC strat is to bore BoB and prey they leave before VFK falls. They sit in vfk while GBC is dismantling everything around them without a fight. It was quite sad and utter fail, there and I could not stand to be part of a 'lets hold 1 system and prey they give up' strat!!
The simple reason TRI is seeing some NC joinin Hydra is; A) They have to save face and try to show they helped Hydra B) Bob is not attackin VFK and most pilots have been bored for 2+ weeks of gatecamping. So to say the NC have any strats is simply you readin more into it then the NC leaders can come up with. |
