I'll be running missions in the Domain region so I think that's blood raiders? Armor has good em and thermal resists but I've heard the best ships for running missions with are the Caldari ships.
I'm training the learning skills right now so I haven't invested much in ship/weapons training.
Should I stick with Amarr or go Caldari? Remember, I'll be running the missions in the Domain region.

Amarr ships are probably the best option against blood raiders and other amarr variations. The biggest problems come when they are resistant for EM/Therm :P ---------------------------------------------

Each general region of each race have NPC rats that are weak against their specific damage types. For example, trying to fire Kinetic damage at a rat who is weak in EM/Therm wont do you any good.
Amarr's rats are:

off the top of my head. I may forget one or two though... -

Edited by: Billy Sastard on 10/08/2008 17:46:25 The reason people say that caldari is better for missions is because, their ships being missile ships, they are able to change damage type readily. Amarr is restricted to EM/thermal, so when you have to go up against rats that are resistant to your damage types you are at a disadvantage. Amarr ships are fully capable of running missions against all rat types, however it takes a significant skill investment to do this as well as someone with less SP in a caldari ship. Most rats have some amount of weakness to thermal damage so what you have to do as an amarr pilot is train to the point where you are doing massive amounts of damage with your lasers to compensate for the lack of focused damage types.
P.S. You cannot count on agents in amarr space giving out solely sansha/blood missions. It has been my experience that you get a random mix of enemies regardless of where you are running missions. -=^=-

I wouldn't recommend trying Angel Extravaganza in an Amarr ship though. It's doable, but it'll take a long time.

its actually not that bad, they get up nice and close so you can use multifrequency 95% of the time with pulse lasers, and 99% of the time with beams. better than guristas imo.

One other thing to note about amarr, seems to get left out alot.
Never having to buy ammo more than once. Just buy the T1 crystal u want and bam thats it.
I know running a raven isnt that expensive....But hey the fact u never have to buy ammo will amount to alot of extra isk if u play for along time and alot.
But as others have stated being restricted to EM/Thermal can be a bummer. But look if u have a good tank wont matter anyway, just take you 'abit' longer to complete the mission. Doesnt mean u wont complete it....

The ever popular raven is the most recommended missioning ship but amarr ships are just fine. My charicter is heavily cross trained and can use any t1 ship other than gallante at roughly equal skill. My favorites for missioning are: Maelstrom, Apocalypse, Armageddon (nice drone ship) and Rokh. I would stay away from the raven since it is far too popular and it has about half the actual dps as all the others thanks to a wonderful item called defender missiles. The Raven's principle advantage is the ability to pick damage types fully, but as said defender missiles really negate that advantage unless you get so close that defenders can't hit. I currently keep 2 ships on hand in my missioning base, a maelstrom for killing angels and an apocalypse for killing everything else. When it comes to t1 non-faction missioning ships, I dare say the apocalypse is king though I might be the only guy out there who actually uses it . Just don't put it up against angels, that seriously sucks from a dps standpoint. Everything else is fine.

As long as you stick with agents in Amarr space (which give you Blood Raiders, Sansha, Mercs, Drones etc.), you will do excellent with Amarr ships. The Abbadon is my favorite of the bunch, can't say no to a damage bonus and a resistance bonus __________________________________________________
