CCP for the next schedule please fix your launcher, everytime there's an update it fails the download and gets corrupted, so I use the repair tool but it freezes and fails the download too.
I'm forced to wait for someone to post a manual download link and it should't have to be like that!
I've never had problems with a launcher before, I've played dusins of free2play mmo's funded by a few people and their launchers work flawlessly, how can this be!?
Please fix it, I'm really trying to enjoy your game..

I can't find today's patch. And I don't care about its size since 18k other players are online and playing and I can't. I'm not supposed to manually patch my game client since you, the DEVs, got paid to develop a simple launcher/patching tool and it passed QA and was deployed on live environment. And every single patch hundreds of your customers have to apply all sorts of idiotic workaround that go up to REINSTALLING THE CLIENT.
Meanwhile, my subscription is running and you're cashing in my money while I am unable to use the product I paid for.

Why does the comparison fail? I too have played tens of F2P MMOs and not a single one had issues with patches and updates. NONE. Zero. Never. I didn't have issues with EVE patching before either. Until they added this magnificent "feature", the launcher... |

What has f2p ANYTHING to do with that ? Absolutely nothing, if you pretend to have a clue about server architecture then compare eve to something that also has ONE servercluster that serves the whole Population. The problem is that they are not able to upload their files at the same time as they patch the official launcher. That would at least allow us to go past the issue until they fixed it or provide a tool thats able to redownload only the corrupt parts.
There's nothing more to it.
Its the same as claiming WHY ARE YOU SICK I KNOW ANOTHER HUMAN WHO ISNT. You miss then completely that you dont know wether that human was sick ever in his lifetime, there, thats your error. No need to dramatize everything. |

Ok since you're obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed, I'll try to explain again. First of, manually patching a game with files provided by DEVs is 1980s standard, not 2012. So any discussion on the upload speed, download speed, file size, etc is totally useless as it should've NEVER gotten to the point that DEVs provide us the files. What's next, we'll get instructions on how to modify the code ourselves?
Second, the comparison with F2P is that those scrubs, with their low budget, low intelligence, very poor know-how of the whole MMO business STILL managed to provide a flawless update/patch system. Yet CCP which wants to be on the fore-front of MMO industry FAILS to do that. How? How was a half-assed tool such as this Launcher put into Live environment when it is so buggy and keeps so many customers from using the product they paid for?
Such "features" should never pass QA in such a state. End of story.
