capital losses:
tercios down one carrier, he went too far out of the shields, got webbed by a cov-ops, support came in, dreads came in and sieged, he went down
vanguard down one dreadnaught. vanguard cyno guy warped to their newly setup pos in 25s, dropped cyno, vanguard gets one dread in before the pos pops their cyno, followed shortly by popping their dread.
(sorry dark, but it was comedy gold)

Bastard!
To be fair, Tercios put up a decent fight, but seemed to lose their resolve fairly quickly. All the same, it was fun.

Edited by: Karunel on 06/08/2008 22:56:45 Congrats to IAC. I think we fought enough to save face and learn some stuff, we're not really rich (contrary to CAOD-popular belief we hate carebearing for the most part ) and we had a lot of assets in the north and a lot of people on holiday. With our allies in the North, there was only so much we could do.
All in all I think we did ok considering we were outnumbered quite heavily.
Edit: Congrats to Vanguard too. Think you'd have had some serious problems trying to conquer FAT/25S on your own tho. ____

Big love to IAC and Friends. Everyone always loves to see the drunks win one.
But the big question is why AAA lets this go on. AAA could get caps into FAT/25s in a moment.

Not really, if they wanted to come in FAT-6P they either helped IAC/Vanguard or Tercious/BOB or just watched the show. First two variants sounds like science-fiction. Third one, well, we didnt had too many -A- spectators :))

In our case we didn't even expect to get to Sov 3 level! We saw IAC wasn't defending it and we gave it a go but we were well aware that GBC couldn't really lend a hand there (it's very far in light-years terms) so we decided to make a run for it and learn and earn as much as we could. We didn't earn much because with AAA/IAC making periodic visits our pockets were almost empty most of the time, but I guess we learnt more as a group.
About Vanguard. I'm sure they're aware that they'll be there as long as IAC supports them or, failing that, until that place becomes interesting for any big group. Then it's game over, you can delay it more or less but there's nothing you can do to stem the tide. EVE's a numbers game after all. ____

Not their pets, not their problem. They wouldn't have gone for it earlier for fear of picking a fight with BoB while they were busy harassing IAC. Fools fighting wars on two fronts, and all that. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

Cudos to all involved.
We do believe we did give quite a run for the money taking into account the difference in numbers and our choice to fight this out without meaningful support from third parties.
Lets see how vanguard will hold up without the massive IAC fleet presence. Without them they would surely not have evicted us.

Back when AAA destroyed IAC's jumpbridge network and took 5-n and v2- they decided to consolidate to the JZV constellation and abandon FAT/25s, they knew they couldn't defend it against AAA anyway, nothing's changed really, this is a win win situation for IAC since they'll have docking rights again without having to bother with POS

I agree my corpmate Karunel that Vanguard will mantain sov while IAC support them, because of big groups will allways get Vanguard outnumbered, as that coallition (IAC-Van) got us these days.

IAC is doing alright without the headache of split sovreignty in Catch. They've been expanding Jamunda-Doril area of Curse since they fell back, and it looks a helluva lot easier to manage than an area of space 15 jumps from home through the backyard of one of the badest ass alliances in the south (props to AAA for keeping life interesting down here). Edited by: Ingor Torbu on 08/08/2008 00:26:07 Grats IAC/Vanguard, well done, good fights.
I hope we will have the opportunity to meet again and repeat the experience but this time with a little bit more numbers and caps on our side.
What is nice about IAC is no matter how bad things are for them, no matter how badly they loose a battle or a series of battles, they re-group, re-organize, and attack again and again and hopefully win as they did it this time in fat.
The effort put on the defense of these system by all the corps in T E R C I O S was also great, and I think there were situations at which we managed to desperate a little bit IAC and Vanguard, specially that POS in 25s where they lost a lot of BSs and by next day it was all repaired and armed even stronger than before. Big thanks to all the pilots that made this possible.
Big thanks to all the ppl that despite of not belonging to our alliance came to help us, suffered and celebrated by our side.
About the smack... I'm sorry they didn't let us talk!!!
Side note: evil ppl inside -3- is happy cos we will now have loads t2 drops in the following weeks, and they like to think about fat and 25s stations as something it had to be given up to make this possible

yep, good fights all around. We wouldn't've lost so many ships to that POS in 25s except we had multiple Jim Lovell types in fleet that were too drunk to think about hitting that need armor button, and others passed out while at the POS too (like me in my carrier. got a call from someone that woke me up when I wasn't responding, although I don't remember which POS I did that at). IAC at it's best!

Originally by: Apple Boy yep, good fights all around.

I find your roleplaying disturbing. ;\
Im worse in corp and alliance chat... ask my corpies..

Yes, that was a one of those "Murphy¦s Law" situations. The industrial had a disconect just in the worst of times when the whole support BS fleet was in the process of warping away. Then of course the extra luck of blowing up the ship and still having the tower inside intact
In hinsight, of course, the fleet should have stayed put and duked it out as we had enough numbers for it.
But hey, thats what makes this game so cool. We had a laugh and you had a good evening with a nice extra
We shall meet again

hreh doesn't seem likely since that'd require the capitalfleets of IAC, vanguard and the providence peeps working together on an offensive move to take a station nobody really wants from an alliance with a comparable size capfleet to all above combined + 5 or more titans, sov3 and a jumpbridge network

FAT is now a slaughterhouse with Tercios and AAA daily visiting the pocket from left and right. But this was to be expected from the get go.

And much respect to T e r c i o s. You guys were fun to fight, you never smacked, and you put up a good fight every time. I wish you well in your future endeavors.

AAA and Blade have definitely kept it lively, anyway. Last night's tango with two simultaneous hostile roaming gangs was rather entertaining, actually.
In any event, yeah, it was expected we'd have lots of company to keep us warm at night, and yes, the screams of carebears howling for back up from the belts because they a) aren't watching local, b) aren't on voice comms, and c) aren't active in any intel channels has been ringing out in the night, but its not exactly breaking our backs at the moment. If anything, its serving as a wonderful educator for some of the more clueless in the realities of 0.0 life, so most of the 0.0 veterans aren't doing much more than the occassional facepalm while calmly explaining exactly why we aren't going to scramble into the loving arms of a roaming gang to save someone doing something stupid. As it stands, intel channel and pvp op participation is improving, and a few more of us are starting to cut our teeth learning to FC, and I see signs of us gelling as a unit rather well as a result of the pressure. Sometimes it ends in tragedy, sometimes its a success, but in the end, we're surviving and improving.
Will we hold the area for any length of time? My personal $.02, I'll be impressed if we hold it long enough to hit Sov 3 in FAT-6P. Doesn't matter, really. Right now, we have it, and it's giving us a sense of direction we were really missing as JZV residents.
Good times. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

According to the intel I have... -A- locked the system down nice and tight before dropping 30 dreads and 10 carriers. IAC wasn't in a position to come help in a means that would thus drive the Overlords out.
So in retaliation for the attack on IAC's little brother, IAC launched an offensive just hours later against a very profitable -A- system.
The south is certainly a hopping place.
We live in interesting times.
