i'm going to go scan some moons, just want to see what i can find but i found a problem...the only moon probe i can use got a 40 min duration...but the launcher on my cov ops only got a activation on 200 something seconds...do that mean that the probe wont work?

yeah thats the one i got..the first one. but normal probes when i tried a launcher with shorter activation time than the probes scan time i didnt get result(this was with normal probes, not moon survey probes)

It will take 40 minutes before you get a result from the moon probe. The result will show up in the 3rd tab of your scanner, not in the first tab like you have for the other probes.

See if watching the video on this page helps.
Note: You can use the align to (new option from last patch) rather than double click to head towards. --

Train for discovery survey probes, they are faster. I bought too many of them, so perhaps we can make a deal (empire delivery)?

Make sure you actually *aim* at the moon when firing the probe (align for the moon, fire probe). If you just fire it into a random direction near the moon you won't get results. That's what I did back when probes were released :P

Moon probes are a little different, point at moon, fire, go to next moon, repeat. As long as you don't dock/log/leave system, the results will come in after the timer expires regardless. I find the 40minute probes are fine, especially for larger systems as you can fit alot of them in, they're cheap, and you can usually scan most of the moons, then just cloak while the results come in to record them.
