Cool, thanks! I hope I can run it under Windows 7...
FWIW I've had no trouble running EWA until win7 the past 3 months.

Cool. Good to know. I know that a former corp mate runs it under Vista. But as I haven't got access to any Vista or Windows 7 (yet) myself, I can't do any testing on these systems. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Yes it's working. But it was not enough to copy the old installation. I had to install it. I guess it's installing some component in the system32 folder. Otherwise it's failing to start.

Yes, you need to do an install. EWA uses an OCX, which needs to be registered (and hence needs admin privileges for installation), that's what the install does. But it keeps everything within the program folder. (I hate polluting the SYSTEM32 folder)

i read all the pages here. i love this program for it's simplicity and handy information without getting TOO lost. however, i have an issue i have not read about in any of the 7+pages: some stations are not displayed for buy or sell transactions. Tintoh and Uuhulanen for example. while my in-game eve wallet shows them. using recent version 1.1.11

Hmm, strange. I will have a look at this. Are these systems completely missing or just one/some stations within those systems (if so, which ones?)?
Quote: using recent version 1.1.11
The most recent version is 1.1.12. But it only includes some small bug fixes. Nothing related to stations/systems. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Ok, I have installed this and I will spend the next while Going over it, I will let you know what I think of it, but so far the First Impressions are good.
I do have some UI Suggestions, I had to really go looking for where to enter the API info, Why not Create a Simple Toolbar along the Top with Buttons that Goto all the Functions in the Menus, with one clearly Labeled for where to enter API Data into. --

Yeah, I know, that's not the most intuitive design ever.
Historically, EWA started off as a single account & character application for my personal use. And wasn't designed with publishing it in mind either. (That only happened after corp mates encouraged me to do so)

I always try to minimized the installation requirements and dependencies as much as possible. Adding a toolbar would mean that I would need to distribute another control with the installation. And that just for "eye candy" = adding no new functionality to EWA.
But perhaps I can do it in a different way, like some kind of "First time user? Here's where to enter your API credentials: <Display options screen>" dialogue, if no account and character is present already. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

I managed to use it without to install it. My problem was that in the c:\ProgramData\EVEWalletAware\EVEWalletAware.ini had a wrong path for the db location. :)

OK, I checked the database and the stations are present there. 5 in Tintoh and 2 in Uuhulanen. Same goes for the systems themselves.
Let's try two things an see if those systems/stations show up for you.
Compact the database (Extras -> Database maintenance).
If that doesn't help, edit EVEWalletAware.ini:
[Database] Version=4
Resetting the database version from 4 to 5 (which is the current one) let's you download and update the database again. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Erhm ... version 1? That's quite old ... you are aware that EWA also updates its database through the "Check for update" menu option, right?
It is quite necessary to do this problematically, because EWA needs to shovel over your existing data to the new database and sometimes add/edit/update new fields. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

yes it said version 1. i always had this problem with Uuhalenen and Tintoh not showing up for any transactions since i first started to use it, but lived with it. i didnt know if it was a eve api issue or EWA. so i downloaded EMMA over the last weekend, and that program showed the 2 station & systems. i was using v1.1.11 of EWA. after your last suggestions, i noticed a v.12 out. decided to uninstall older version and install newer version. that worked.
no idea why the .ini file stayed at 'version=1' with v1.1.11 i'll attribute it to goofy windows vista.

OK; let me explain. For EWA there are two types of updates: Program updates and database updates. Both are accomplish through the ? -> Check for updates menu option.
The program update simply opens your system's default browser with the location of the EXE download. This is basically the same as going over to EWA's homepage, clicking on the EXE only download link and saving it to disk.
The database update however, is a different animal. In this case, EWA downloads the new database to the right folder, unpacks it, shuffles over your existing data to the new database and adds/modifies values/fields/tables if needed.
And that's also why there are two version numbers: the application's version number and the database version number (that's the one in the INI).
Summary: While a program update can be done manually by downloading the EXE and copying it to the installation folder, a database update must be done by EWA itself, for the reason stated above.
On a unrelated note: I haven't done that in the past, but let me tease you a bit: I'm about to release a new version soon (both a program and database update this time), which adds another (useful, I hope) feature to EWA. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Very nice tool and unlike EMMA it runs on Vista64 out of the box. This will be my third offline-app. Next to Evemon and EFT.
But could we have sortable columns in balance sheets? CopyŠnŠpasting to OpenOffice Calc doesnŠt work.

You did retrieve the corporation data already? The sequence is
- Choose account - Choose character - Choose personal or corporation data - Retrieve data from EVE API
The option yo picked (personal or corporation data) decides which kind of data is retrieved from the API. Only personal wallet data or only corporation data. EWA doesn't (attempt to) download both, just what you selected. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

If just uploaded a new release, version 1.2.0
The most notable addition is the possibility to retrieve and display your current market orders.
As always, details can be found here: http://eve.basicaware.de/evewalletaware/version.html
This update includes a database update as well. So make sure you download the new EXE, (re)start the program and check for updates again, in order to retrieve and install the new database. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Hel, I don't know if you take feature requests but there's something I think would be really useful. Is it possible to restrict the wallet statistics by date range? I change trading strategies periodically and I'd like to see how I'm doing over say the last week or two weeks.

I guess you're referring to the "Top <x> ..." wallet transaction statistic, as it is the only option which doesn't provide a date range filter, right?

Hi, I have this Problem.
Since the last patch, my ewa seems to load the wallet from ccp but i can not display any Transaction. The Journal is working as usual.
That problem is existing for 2 different people with 3 different ewa versions.
Anyone else with the same problem?

It works fine for me (again).
Keep also in mind, that ever since the EVE API was introduced, the API is/was disabled for a while after a patch. Typically until downtime the day after the patch.
I guess doing so eliminates a potential "trouble source" and will help CCP figure out problems from the patch. Once all is fine and running, the API is enabled again.
What you see as a download and processing of data in EWA is EWA's own caching mechanism. EWA's processing part doesn't know anything about its download part. So, regardless if an actual download happened or not, EWA will process the "new" data. Just that this time the data comes from it's own cache.
In theory, you could download the API files yourself, add them to EWA's database yourself and EWA will happily process them just like if it did download the files itself. -- EVEWalletAware - an offline wallet manager |

Edited by: Hel O''Ween on 25/05/2009 10:14:56 I've just released a database update. This addresses two points:
- Market order states The market order states were missing, making it impossible to use the newly introduced filtering option on market order states.
- Apocrypha 1.2 data The Apocrypha 1.2 patch added new T3 subsystems to the game. These are now included.
In EWA use the menu entry ? -> Check for update to download and install this database update.

I have tested this app for about a week now and I love it, especially that you can see the profit per item under the item details window. But I got a question, is there a way to see your all time profit for all items? Would be great to see how my trading is going :P
