I have been using Eve for about 6 months. I have had Steam for a while, too. Recently, Eve has been available for download on Steam. One can launch the game from Steam, and still have access to the Steam friends, etc..
My question is simple, and not one of necessity, but of preference. Is there a way to add Eve to the games list in a manner -other- than as a "Non Steam Game" shortcut?
When a "Steam" game, EG: Half Life 2, is launched from the Steam panel, others can see that I'm playing Half life 2 (On Steam Friends.) When Eve is installed as a shortcut, it displays to my friends as, "Playing a Non-Steam Game."
Again, this is just a preference, so I hope to not hear any replies like, "Just deal with it."
...Don't be that guy.
Thanks -Roelon.

Can you download a trial with steam ?
I would just just redownload the client through steam and then just use my login details if I wanted to do this. Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

That would be an obvious choice. I've considered it - but I'd have to re configure interface.
I was hoping for a different approach.
Thanks for replying. I hope to hear some more suggestions.

Surely it uses the same location for your cache files. Just back them up, install, and move them back. Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

Well, I've downloaded the demo and used my current user information. Unfortunately, I'll have to manually import previous settings (No biggie.). The only concern I have now, is that the title Displays as "Eve Online Demo" in the Games list. There is an option to upgrade (For 14.99) - but, no thanks.
Any other ideas?

There is an option to add a product key to Steam. Do existing Eve Players get a Steam Product Key?
