This was known and reported multiple times already when FW was on the test-server. Curious how CCP will class stuff as exploits rather than fix it when they had the chance before putting it on Tranq.

Originally by: Unvisibility No, the exploit is taking larger ships than allowed by the gate *into* the complex.
It's perfectly OK to fly BS's to the gate as long as you don't attempt to circumvent the gate system and thus actually ENTER the complex in your BS.
That is correct. The exploit is to be able to go inside a FW complex with a bigger ship class than allowed by the entrance acceleration gate (like being inside a frigate complex with a battleship, for instance).
However, there is nothing wrong by warping to the complex beacon itself with a larger ship if you wish to prevent opponents from using the acceleration gate or just to peek around. Staying in the entrance with a larger ship is fine, avoiding the entrance acceleration gate filter and being -inside- the FW complex itself when you are not supposed to is not.
I hope this will clarify the situation.

Read again.
"Flying bigger class ships than allowed by the jump gates to Factional Warfare"
You need to read again.. hehe....
"Flying bigger class ships than allowed by [frig is allowed by a frig accel gate.]the jump gates to Factional Warfare".
Pretty much saying that if you work around to get a bs into a frig/DD plex then thats exploit, sitting in a bs next to the frig/dd plex accel gate is allowed.
Edit:
Doh Ytter beat me to it.. hehe. ----------------------------

Trouble is, this exploit is unfair on the people in frigs who get jumped by an inty. I'd expect a fix to be placed into the game code asap.
My suggested fix:
1 - Make the distance between the gate and the exit point much larger so the trip takes longer. I'm thinking a couple of million Km. 2 - Put the beacon by the gate, not inside the plex itself. This means the align button won't work to get you on the right heading.

There's nothing clever about it. Exploiting something that isn't intended to allow something to happen is not the same as reaching a result within the allowed means that is acceptable.
Maybe you can give some examples though. I know the zombies did something 'clever' a long time ago, and it had the same response as bypassing the FW gates.

Why was the ability to use mwds allowed in plexes but not the ability to warp to other gang members in teh plex with you?

It can be summed up as "invisible walls" in some videogames. I will use Super Mario 64 as the example in this case because I have a feeling everyone has played it and knows exactly the part I am going to mention.
When you are running down the long red-carpeted hall way to fight Bowser for the first time you are approaching the picture of princess Peach. As you get almost ready to jump into it the picture turns to Bowser and the floor opens up and you fall in. However on my second play-through I obviously knew this was going to happen so I simply set up a triple jump to get past it and see what would happen. However instead of jumping past it I hit an invisible walls and slid down into the pit the same as if I had never jumped at all.
That always ****ed me off, they should have made the pit long enough that no jump no matter how perfectly executed could allow you to get to the other side. The game design goal would have been accomplished but the psychological difference would have been immense.
This "exploit" is a case of invisible walls and it ****es me off when the railroad tracks we are all riding down are so clearly present.
