So, I've been trading, contracting, smuggling, transporting, exploring, researching, manufacturing, inventing and managing POS:s.
Flown all ship types except Titans, Dreadnoughts and Motherships(the tier 2 carrier(s)).
I'm starting to get a lil bored, though I recently got into managing a corporation wich is somewhat entertaining.
Did I miss something Trade/Industry wise?
I have a few ideas wich invovles the hiring of mercs but that's about it. ________________________________

You forgot building and managing an outpost, but I'm in about the same position as well as a lot of other people here. I think I speak for everyone when I say we could use some high-end industrial goals to reach for.

What about pinning down something specific like Booster manufacturing. Yeah that's pretty lame, when you've done it all it's hard to find something.
Or kick it in some old school and do something like what a group of us did, Try and take something you know is hard and making it uncontested! We chose T1 Manufacturing, it's actually more difficult then it sounds. You may have read Ricdics Rags to Riches story turning 5K into 1bil. He did that because he wanted to see if it could be done.
Anyone can put T1 together, and I'm talking mods, ammo, ships, that are smaller then Battleships, BattleCruisers are our largest ship. No T2, no invention. The idea here was to make it so profitable that we could single handed create a market hub.
At the moment we using out sales to make more and more items, purchase more BPOs research them and have a MASSIVE stock of T1 items.
Picture this, Every ammo type, all have 100,000,000 units. Probes, scripts and Drones every one having 1,000,000 units. Mods have between 1,000,000 and 10,000,000 units depending on popularity. Ships 500,000 units.
Then one day out of the blue everything gets thrown up on the market in a remote location but in a region that has population. Throwing up at 5% above cost.
That's the dream we have, all the fun is actually the logistics of making it happen, when it's done we'll be board again

Market Manipulation. You haven't lived until you've felt the rush of speculatively driving up some commodity. Will it stick long enough to liquidate your stock or will people continuously undercut until your margin's obliterated? Will you move enough to cash in or will the buyers just wait your manipulation out? Dare you risk billions more and try to sustain it or will you take a quick profit and run?

Stop doing boring things that everyone else is doing. There are far more ways to enhance your Eve experience that don't involve following the worn out path that all the other yuppies travel.
I was once bored too. So I started a bank

^^ this...
don't think that EVE is about what the game-mechanics provides for you.. Try to think outside the box and see what is possible from a completely new perspective....

Aye that's when I went into "smuggling" and boosters, but got boored of it.
I guess I should realize some of thoose "out of the box" ideas of mine but.. yeah, boring to do alone.
Was too worried about making isk, no friends (), guess that's why I'm buying "nublets". ________________________________

Don't like shooting NPCs really, and I don't like hauling in (jump) freighters.
But trying to establish a new hub somewhere would be an interesting but as you say one would get bored again. ________________________________

I'm working on creating a hub myself - it's slow - but watching my graphs you can slowly see volume go up as people realize they don't need to jump out of region to buy lots of their favorite goods. _______________ Pwett CEO, Founder, & Executor <Q> QUANT Hegemony

The release of FW was a great opportunity to do this, and there's probably still plenty of room if you know where the FW folks like to hang out.

Gambling seems to be a pretty popular way to spend some time , and poker casino eve on line holdem is getting busier and busier. With quite alot of high stakes games going on.
Wether setting one up to try and compete with the established ones to try and make isk as a business or just going along to ones already there to just have some fun playing cards or to try and make money as a player.
Other popular casino games that i havent seen and that could also be turned into a business could be roulette casino, craps casino or blackjack .
The poker casino i play at the owner must make i would think at least 1billion a day could be even more i donk really know. Its a well run business good for the owner good for people who enjoy playing poker.
Dont know if thats any help Aerpe just a few different ideas may not be what your looking for, but good luck

Nah, gambling isn't good for me and it's not very funny either. I rather work and get rich than go for luck.
But thanks for the heads up about it. ________________________________

the marketdiscussion threads are overtly hostile (which may be good buisness practice) but its killing your chances of enough ppl taking interest and ccp giving you something to keep them interested Eve information kiosk

These forums are only hostile to people who are trying to use them to scam, (like your Jita contracts) or who do not understand capitalism. There are pleanty of people interested in the industrial side of eve. Case in point, have you bought or sold anything today?

Edited by: Leowen on 26/06/2008 23:58:41 Ah it's fun to think back on my path through EVE from an industrial/commercial perspective over the last 5 years...
Ran the 'buy-order rat loot and recycle' routine Traded low value mins Traded high value mins Built a T1 prod operation up to BS's Invested in (bought) a bunch of research chars (6 iirc) for the T2 BPO Lottery Spent all of my money to set up a chain of 15 POS's with my corp when moon mining launched Set up EVE's first T2 Comp Shop (my main, Bertie) selling all 36 comp types Bought some freighter BPO's and tried cap ship production Built Comp Shop into a big operation servicing about 25% of T2 production (about 3 years ago, smaller market then) Bought a nice portfolio of T2 BPO's with profits from Comp Shop Got into market manipulation, making 20-50b moves on Jita market just for sh1ts and giggles
Good times. Now though I'm bored of ISK so I just pewpew with the State Protectorate, comfortably supported by my mostly passive investments and activities. Much more fun to be honest.

Aerpe, hi,
If you are looking for something new and interesting some of the faction warfare hubs could really do with a market don (it's suit you, wear a fedora). It's lowsec so you can get some minor thrills there and in places like amamake people are scrabbling for every module they can find.
Cheers,
