<3 for adding the ability to see target's armour/shield/hull percentages. <3 for adding clear all function to the watch list. Haven't had a chance to check, but does hovering over armour/shield/hull bars on the watch list also show remaining percentage? If not, could that be on the next list of little things to do?
As for the cake, I'm not even disappointed. We got a MSPaint graph instead, so I'm happy with that. http://www.dust514.org - the unofficial forum for everything DUST 514 http://www.dust514base.com - the blog site with everything else DUST 514 you need

I came for cake and all I got was Hello Kitty.
I will go cry a bit, and with my watery eyes wont be able to even see your niceties.
( also years ago I reported that moving an item from a list [e.g. friends, market quicklist... ] then scrolling up to put it into a folder that was out of view lead to the icon just floating on the screen and nothing ever arriving in the folder. Which was fixed by.... removing the ability to scroll while moving the item. Can you actually put an item on a list into a folder that is not in view and you'd have to scroll? I would guess all relatively modern GUI frameworks do that "scroll up when at the edge of a list " kinda thing, but then again I remember someone saying that your gui framework is not modern at all. ) |

Current system of radios and buttons would make more sense if the interface allowed the recruitment officer (or whatever the role is called) to write a note to the person being accepted/rejected.
I disagree with only needing two buttons - you need three. Accept, Reject and Cancel - what if you decide you don't want to make a decision about the application quite yet? Sure, you can always click on the [x] in the top-right corner if that window has one, but not all windows do, and it's probably a little more intuitive to have a Cancel button present anyway. |

Really like the mouse hover read out on shields/armor/structure.
Would it be possible to get something similar regarding a targeted ship's velocities? If not in the target list maybe next to the actual target reticule that surrounds a ship once you obtain a lock? Or, since velocities always show up in the overview if you have the columns enabled maybe list the velocities next to the ship when you select it? (near the rectangle that shows up around a ship prior to attempting to lock it.)
Anyways great stuff! |

In the end, those are awesome changes, keep up with the awesome work.
Quick maybe dumb question.

Great stuff. Going to have to try out the watch list dragging.
Thanks for the Blueprint sorting! I've been doing some invention and research - it's going to be so much easier to work through the hundreds of BPOs... :P
Are we going to get a revisit of the overheating modules notiifications?
The blinking green confuses more than not. Red, Yellow, Green, blue would probably be better at least. (Color blind design in mind with any colors...)
Red = overheating, yellow = transitioning on (heating) Green = off, blue = transitioning off (cooling)
And ---
Do you foresee the station services being redesigned in the future on the station panel? I think that they're really out of date and unorganized and kind of a pain. They also take up a lot of space unnecessarily IMHO (even with the small icons).
Oh, and thanks for all the cake!

No we don't have that implemented, I'm not even sure you can multiselect in the Watch List because it also highlightes the entry in the fleet list and has all kinds of special right click menus for each one of them CCP Punkturis | EVE UI Developer | @katrinat |

Very nice work. The watch list needs some serious love to make it more useful. It is now well on its way.
Unrelated to the watch list, it would still be fantastic to have the market panel flag our buy and sell orders with some obvious color in the market display window.
You have already done something comparable with the color flags of items in our route.

Ya I read Optimal's reply, but what can I say? Sometimes I'm a nag!
Thing is... a small little tiny number that hardly took up any space at all and required no clicks to view was replaced with multiple clicks and a big pop-up window to achieve the same functionality.
If I haven't moved my Calendar button from the Neocom drop-down menu, I have to navigate through the drop down, open the Calendar, look at the date, then close it again - and while it is open, it's taking up a big percentage of screen real estate and blocking my ability to see anything under it (granted, I'm not opening the Calendar in the middle of a fight but you get the idea).
If I have moved my Calendar button from the Neocom drop-down menu, I'm now adding another button to the Neocom's limited real estate, taking up space that might be better served by a button I use far more often. (Honestly, I'm not trying to stretch the argument here just pointing out an aspect of the precious screen real estate argument). Then, to see the date, I have to click the Calendar open, taking up space, then close it again.
I understand that the date displaying at the bottom of the screen was intended to act as a way to highlight and bring attention to a new client feature - the Calendar - when it was released. While that was the intention, it actually served to make Eve to Local time/date conversions far less confusing for the easily confused and/or lazy. For those of us not easily confused and/or lazy about time/date conversions, it was just a really nice convenient feature that became relied upon instinctively to Just Be There.
So I ask, with my sweetest nicest indoor voice, one woman to another, please, reconsider bringing it back. Or make it an option. Or add a mouse-over hover over the clock. Or a mouse-over on the Calendar button if it is on our Neocom. Or have the Calendar button icon itself display the current date.
I love all the changes in Eve that ya'll have worked so hard on! I really appreciate all that everyone at CCP is doing to make our day-to-day lives in New Eden less clicky, more balanced, beautiful to look at, customizable, effective and responsive. Isn't there some way to squeeze this little thing back in?
Thanks! What you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for others is immortal. |

I hear they've been counting pixels in photoshop I used to keep a ruler on my desk specifically for measuring shield on POS bashes in conjunction with pixels. Awesome little changes and <3 the chart :)
Since there has been a lot of talk about the watchlist. Would it be possible to make the watchlist behave in such a way that if you click someone in the list (assuming the pilot is on grid), you'd then also be selecting his/her ship in space (just like you can select one of your drones in space by clicking on it in the Drones window)?
Reason I ask is cause in fleets where you for example have a fleetmember to anchor on or something similar, it would be nice to have this ability cause it would more easily let you see his/her position relative to yourself, fining that pilot in the overview is usualy not viable as you'd most likely have the overview set to hide fleet members. Having to lock the person just to be able to see where he/she is in the "pack" seems a bit unnessecary and potentialy risky. |

I'm sure seeing the date is a trivial thing to those of you who live in the same time zone as the EVE server, but for those of us in the rest of the world, it can get confusing. Opening up the calendar is not an optimal solution, especially when it worked fine for years the way it was. |

I'd like to request something for a not-too-distant sprint. Some time ago the overview was setup to export overview settings & re-import them, which is a huge help when the overview gets reset (like in this patch). Can you pleeeeease (pretty please with sugar/cherries/beer/ *insert your preferred bribe-able libation here* on top) consider doing the same for the Window positions, ESC-menu settings, etc. that are typically reset? Or make them sync-able with the host? Something so we don't have to manually re-set it all
When I saw they were nuked again tonight I just logged off. After a long day of work, I just wanted to play a little, not spend a lot of time re-tweaking the UI. (Yes, I know it's not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but it still sucks). This is especially painful for those of us with multiple accounts & alts & a little OCD. After 6 years of playing the game, I always cringe after each patch until I see if the settings were lost yet again. If you could make this easier to restore you'd be my personal hero. |

Sooo... I was wondering if it would be possible to make damage to drones visible in Hangar and Drone Hangar. This would be pretty helpful.
On a sidenote... when I open information about drones in my drone hangar now... its showing with numbers after skills. Very nice... but why are the numbers completely mixed and in another order as the standard information window without skill involvement? (when you open it in space station hangar)
An Option would be nice in watchlist to show %values and/or real values of the shields etc. (also for targets)

The watch list.
Would it not be possible to have the background of the persons name to be utilized as feedback for the 3 status bars. You could have 3 colours (changeable for those who wish it but identifiable by there position) that are the background colour behind the name. Easy to see and you could also allow the ability to set them to flash if they change and have a red border flash if they go below a set % overall on there ship HP. This would reduce the amount of GUI real-estate by 50% in respect of this feature as well as providing a more appeasing and easier to utilise information as the eye's will only be focusing on half as much information and the relevant information being as a background coloured status bar. Be much better on the brain and seems a shame with a game that demands graphics cards that have more processing power than all the original PONG games cabinets ever made, yet still seem to leverage that old black and white health bar's.
Whilst were about it I'd also like the option to automatically remove people from the watch list if there in pod's and to automatically add people in FC,WC,SC positions. I'd also like to be able to remove people in pod's from fleet in those positions and automatically move to next best person into those positions from there respective tiering, but I can accept a certain level of micro-management. |

I feel like this could be achieved without the currentlySelectedTarget modifier and without using any screen real estate by simply putting the % (or even absolute ) display on the sh/ar/st bar itself, rather than off to the side where it could cause obstruction.
If the color contrast between text/health bar was properly managed, we could see both clearly at the same time, and we would dance.

Ha! .. finally, searchable blueprints. That took years CCP. +1 to those improvements. Small but high impact.
On the watchlist, top on my list are: - distinction between shield and armor bars. Logi pilots who swaps between shields and armor can easily tell you that repping shields is easier on the eye. Put a blue/purple bar for shields maybe? or implement some sort of background pattern? - background flashing instead of foreground flashing of pilots that are being attacked. Easier to discern at first glance.

Some feedback on the blueprint filter (excellent addition that it is), I notice that trying to filter CORP bp's does not work by typing into the corp tabs filter box, but it DOES work if i filter in the PERSONAL bp's section. This then filters both personal and corp at the same time.
for example: filter "thrasher" in corp tab - no change filter "thrasher" in personal tab - both tabs now filter on "thrasher"
otherwise works very well and I like it very much. |

I presume that hunting the cause for the staleness is on some bug list somewhere, but until the cause is found and extinguished, could we get a watchlist right-click action (similar to the new "clear watchlist") to clear the broadcast icons? (Functionally similar to the "Clear Broadcasts" action in the fleet broadcast history panel.)

So far, I'm very happy with 1.5. The (Mac) client has improved by leaps and bounds since I joined up in September.
Just a few requests that would make this Gallente pilot even happier:
1) Can we drag and drop drones into and out of groups, and;
2) Can we do that, and see drone groups, in the drone bay views in the fitting window and in station?
3) Can you add damage bars to the view of the drones in bay so that we don't send injured drones to replace injured drones? And so that, when we're in station, we can quickly see that we need to do repairs before heading out again?
Thanks for your consideration, and for the work you've put in so far.

We were so happy and overjoyed when we could set destination in game to a station. But the IGB apparently did not get the memo. Any chance of that poking its head up in a nearby sprint? I've forwarded this suggestion to the developers responsible for the autopilot feature. Your reference numbers are D# 76472 / CLs 351708 and 351759. Keep them safe, will be out soon. Will apply to setDestination and addWaypoint.
Spiffy....will be anxiously awaiting this to work so I can mesh it with my tools.

I remember in an earlier patch the fleet finder window now automatically loads all available fleets without having to click the "Find Fleets" button. How about extending this functionality to your wallet, Industry jobs, and corporation wallet?
Also, can we please have more corporation book marks, and the ability to put them in corporation folders? 250 is far too little. Something like a 5000 cap would be very much appreciated, and with folders, you shouldn't lag too much when opening them up.
Also, when generating a link in a mail, notepad, or similar form, why exactly when trying to generate a hyperlink do we have to remote the http:// from the link in order for it not to be broken?
Example:
http://i.imgur.com/Qahn0.png
Using the link generator, the hyperlink ends up being http://https://www.google.com/
You end up copy + pastaing the link anyways, why should we have to remote the http:// in order for it to work? or better yet, allow us to just simply highlight + rightclick text and create a hyperlink instead, rather than having to go through a clumsy link generator menu. |

What are the odds of having the option to color code the system names on the Personal Assets tab? Specifically high sec green, low sec orange and null sec green.

Would like to see two further changes to the UI. Firstly I would like to see the minimized windows returned to the bottom of the screen, but keeping the new icons. It would also be useful if they would open up - or rather "preview" these minimized windows by hovering my pointer over them. Pretty much like I can do on windows 7 when I have a lot of stuff going on. Secondly, it's about time to do something about the shield/armour/structure/cap... thingy. It takes far to much roomand some of the icons around it could be moved elsewhere. Also it can be too easy to accidently overload modules |

One thing I would like to see is to be able to use hotkey commands from members selected in the watchlist. Some fleets that are run have the FC or some other act as an "anchor" that they either orbit or keep at range from. Would make things very simple if all we had to do was left click our anchor in the watchlist and hit 'E' for keep at range for default or whatever the orbit button is. It would make things MUCH simpler when dropping from a titan on a hostile fleet. Currently we have to right click then go to keep at range, then select the distance. Would this be difficult to implement? |

Made this in the other thread for CCP karkur if you could try and make it happen. :)

If you right click on your ship / capacitor you can "Add Location" and open the "create a bookmark" window without needing to go through people and places.
This would save me a bit of trouble with always needing to switch to the people and places tab whenever i need to drop bookmarks. It's available on objects in space for the most part, so why not on your own ship representing your own location?
Thanks!

Hey there,
thanks for the lovely small changes!
I just flew around, shooting some rats when I noticed another thing that has been bugging me for quite a while now: When I want to jump in a neighboring system, there is no indication of its security status. Of course, there are multiple ways to check this:
- Show info on the Stargate, then in the Jumps tab show info on the system
- Set the Stargate as a waypoint
- Put the name in the chat, auto-link and click it
- Don't disable the security notifications for Low- and Nullsec (though I really don't want to keep them, because it's not only about these 2, but also about the lower security status in Highsec for "better" rats and anomalies, when just flying around)
So my request is the following: Please add the security status to Stargates in the overview. Either color code them or even better add the color coded number as you did with the Route tab in the info for systems (good job, btw! ). It would help when just cruising around some systems without setting up a specific route before.
Then ... there is another thing that came into my mind when I first played EVE quite a while ago and then repeatedly cams into my mind again every time I tried to get the overview into a state that I'm happy with. But I have to warn you, it's unfortunately not a little improvement. I would like for the overview to be sortable using multiple columns. (Okay, I admit it, I'm a nerd.) For example sorting by ship type (primary) and by distance (secondary), like a corp mate just replied to my idea. That would also prevent living targets from mixing up with the loot cans of dead ones - if you have both activated in your overview. So many cool things you could do with this. Sorting by two columns is probably enough and easier to implement then sorting by an arbitrary amount of columns. If you think this idea is useful and find some time alongside the awesome changes coming this year, I would really appreciate it.

It's me again.
I was just writing some bug reports (yeah, that's the only reason I log into the game ... not ), when I noticed another little thing, that could be improved.
While writing the bug reports my wallet was blinking all the time and I wondered - what the hell is going on with my wallet, I didn't do anything. I then noticed, it was not blinking for my wallet, but for the corporation wallet. I thought: "What do I care about the corporation wallet? Let's disable this annoying blinking for it, but keep it for my own wallet." Looking into the settings tab I unfortunately realized, that it is not possible to configure the blinking individually .
My request is the following: Please add individual options for my private and the corporation wallet.
Thank you! Snus I'm on Twitter. |
