For the record, I don't condone drug use. Or atheism. Life is so much more fun when you surround yourself with gods and demons.
This is the last pre-novel chronicle, and once again, it ties in with events in the book. Next time, we'll get into postwar stories.

It seems that with both this and the last chronicle you're detailing the central portion of what is wrong within each society. In this one we have the corruption hiding behind the mask. So much glorification of the piety of individuals and houses that there is no room for God. That maintaining the facade has become so important that behind the mask there is nothing left. Well, nothing good anyway.
In "With Acknowledgments to Mad Dogs" we had a glimpse at the rot (or rather one of the rots) at the core of the Gallente society, the strange symbiosis between those who reject all values of civilization and restraint, and those who view it. The viewers being both repulsed but strangely attracted to the dark Id that is revealed in the strange act of being a passive observer of savagery. Their consciences mollified by the fact that they can't do anything (it's already done, all that is left is enjoying and condemning the spectacle), except that by watching they do support it by supporting those who live to record it, those whose "duty" it is to watch and relay. They feed them attention, an attention that is converted into resources because it is desired, and by being desired it's worth something. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. I'm not sure if that picture reminds me of Jabba the Hutt or Mr Creosote

Very interesting...I liked the twist and it wasn't quite what I expected.

Demo i saw showed quite some range in the emaciated -> corpulent variations. The big fat dude even changed animation effects and waddled a bit
And yeah, i didn't see that ending coming either. More than just a trick ending, tho, the whole characterization of our holder friend was very nicely built in the short time we had with him.
