Edited by: Enolii on 12/06/2008 08:51:09 It's hard for them to fix the bug because they aren't the bug creator by a lot of way : The synergy between Cider tech and EvE client isn't good. And a lot of time a bug have to be fixed in the EvE client AND also in the Cider Engine. Two software, TWo devellopment team. Twice the work. Twice the time (May be more)

Don't forget the "No, it's not our fault, it's in your end!" "No, it's your code that does it!" "No, it because of the graphics rendering, it's your fault!"

What a freekin' joke ... submitted a bug "fix the damn bugs that are already reported" ... told to submit an in game petition. Huh ... how can a petition get client bugs fixed.

They stonewalled you. Not too suprising though. I'm still waiting for the "macintosh platform will be discontinued" hammer to be dropped. Nothing else can explain the lack of any community handling. |

The problem is that the Mac client is really just a hacked up Windows client running under Transgaming emulation.
It will always suck.
We need a real Mac client written for a Mac.

Edited by: Hagis McBree on 20/06/2008 14:16:27 not going to happen, the game is written in Direct X, OS X does not and will not ever support it. For a Mac "port" the whole graphics engine would have to be rewritten in Open GL, CCP would have higher Open GL programers and retrain the rest, it would take years to do and money they don't have.

Or possibly there is a huge barney going on in the background between CCP and the numpties at Transgaming (who seem have come up with a system that leaves OSX - a Unix system for heaven's sake) wildly unstable.

While I truly understand peoples frustration over some of the issues they are experiencing with the clients, please let us stay constructive on the matter and not sink into ranting/whining flaming. That is not something that will benefit the client nor the community.
The Mini-map issues are driver issues and this is not something TransGaming or CCP can resolve. We are aware of that there are UI issues and some people are still experiencing crashes. And yes we are going to address it.
Bottom line is that just because you're not seeing much Mac client improvement in this expansion, doesn't mean that we are not working on it. We hope that we can bring you some good news soon...

Sorry but that is just a cop out ... I don't see these types of graphical glitches when I play other games on my Mac. If the code, whether it be TransGamings or CCPs, were written "properly" it wouldn't happen. Of course it would also help if the Eve client could be rewritten to use OpenGL and not the DirectX rubbish so it could run natively. No one is whining we're just asking for the support of a paid for product, though I think it is safe to say some of us are getting a little frustrated due to the lack of communication.
