Ok ive recently outfitted my huginn with the standard huginn fits found on BC and from other sources and i was looking for tips and tricks on how to use these ships from fellow players. I know how to pvp etc but its my first time in a mini recon so i would appreicate your suggestions however if anyone feels the need to make childish "dont fly it if your not ready comments then please get lost i have no interest in waisting my time with childish remarks". So im looking for polite constructive advice if possible.
Thankyou,

Well here's what I use... but I'm kinda new to recon ships too so...
HIGH 3x220 Vulcan II 3xHeavy Missile II
MED 1x10MN MWD II 2xWeb II 1xWarp Disruptor II 1xLSE II 1xSensor Booster II (with the faster lock script)
LOW 2xOverdrive II 1xNanofiber II
Some ECM drones could help you but I can't use them yet :) so I just use 5xLight Scout Drones T2

Another option would be going for an arty setup, webbing them and staying at the max range of your warp disruptor and never letting them get near.
Thats pretty close to what im using right now, except i have 2 LSE T2 not one i might drop the one though for the sensor script for camping. I just hate the auto cannons ranges. Im not sure about the arti's though on a huginn, i would prefer to hit and warp jam at 20+Km and get higher damage but im not sure everyone says use auto's. I have a rapier set for arti's though .

stay out of web range, and heavy neut range, and this ship has the tendency to make you feel invincible, so dont bite off more than you can chew....and i would suggest you train for ecm drones asap. best sig ever:)

I recommend staying at range and using artys.

People like tackling and dislike Target painters... Most would say that 2x Webbers are needed...fair... Most would say that without at least one LSE you go down too fast...true... Many fit Sensor boosters, to lock fast things faster - ceptors and such...fair...
So where should you put the TP? You have to replace another module...I would say that the SB can be switched to TP without much thought...ppl disagree and tend to prefer a second LSE or stick to the SB...I just feel it's a shame TPs are so neglected...pair a TPing Huginn with 3-4 sniper BSs or HASs, and you have a huge anti-nano advantage...perhaps bigger than even the damp POINT on the hugg...but I guess that's my mind playing tricks... problem is relative to other ecm modules tp are pretty useless, shame really.

50% more tracking for everyone in your gang against a target is not as bad as most people assume, especially in this world of nanoing. The irony is though, that next to the webbing bonus, it's not that great - two webs at 40km slow most ships down so much that the painter becomes irrelevant. -- Crane needs more grid 249km locking? |

Tackle one target and use your second web (preferably faction) to web a second target.

Run a target painter instead of a point, and bomb the primary with the 3 HMLs and drones, the only thing you should go in for with autocannons is someone thats already burning down, or intys and stuff your gonna be able to shred, let someone else point him while you hold him still for the slam-pigging.
tl;dr find a buddy with a lachesis and go nuts

Originally by: Woodwraith As for the other guy claiming a tracking bonus for the target painter, you wont get one, only the webs will help you there, it blows up his sig radius, so a large gun/missle will hit for more damage than it would have without the painter. it will NOT improve your tracking at all, if hes moving too fast for your guns, you can light him up like a christmas tree, you aint hittin it.
Wrong
Sig radius is a tracking modifer. So, 'lighting him up like a christmas tree' will make your gang's guns track him better.
The problem is actually that 90% webs do this better, assuming that the opponent was the one generating the transversal.
If it's against something stationary and your gang is moving around, the target painter actually helps more. |

The target painter is not effective only of stationary targets...should 2-4% of ships (like 1-2 in each med/large gang) used TPs, the effect would be massive: like building in a TC in each and every friendly ship...TPs are so under-utilized, I don't know if ppl know what Sig radius is...so checking it vs. a TC/TE in practice, even the tracking guide calc is out of the quest... The web is better for increasing allied tracking if the transversal is being created by the target. The only time the TP is worth using on the huginn is if the target is outside web range or if most of the transversal in the fight comes from your ships (ie, the target is stationary).
Obviously, if you've got plenty of webs already then adding a few tps will help more (assuming you're orbiting) than adding a few more webs.

some of you boys are right some of you are wrong huginn is best with only 2 ships in gang ..if you go with this gang you can mostlly eat any ship and that is a torpedo raven and a lacheisis ..and its indicated to use target painter on huginn since it shoots missiles and just imagine the gang i just sayd ...lacheisis insta scrams and 4x range sensor dampeners huginn target paints 7.5% bonus on tp x 5 and start shooting also and when the raven shoots it just removes the ship's hp my alt has a torpedo ravena and i use 3 x target painting drones large ...i *****command ships in 4 volleys and go full dmg on bs's also ...conclusion use a target painter only if you got caldari ships in your gang ..if not stick to the normal 2 x lse setup |
