Edited by: LetsDoThis on 01/06/2008 11:26:39 Fitting So thats the basic fitting, no implants needed, no rigs, and no fitting problems even with all tech 2. An ok(not great) tank. Pretty awesome dps, just below a blasterthron with a full rack of neutrons and ogre IIs.
Only problem that is obvious to me is the range. Is very short range. Im gonna use to take out people that fall for my bait alt. So hopefully 3 webs is enough to keep whatever in range. What do you think? Whats a better setup?

That would die fast to a decent Blasterthron pilot. Put rigs on and it would make a significant difference...but still die.
Also, it relies heavily on drones, which negates its usefullness in some situations when compared to a Megathron (i.e. gates in low-sec). ---------- This space is for rent. That makes me a rent boy. Contact me for details. |

Yes, domi can in theory outperform megathron in mean of dps and tank (shieldtanked blasterdomi is creepy) but in practice i will choose blasterthron over blasterdomi. ---

ITs nto bad idea if you are in a battleship taht barely uses cap, like a plated typhoon for example. Saves a lot of PG ------------------------------------------------- If brute force doesn't solve your problem... you are not using enough

And 2x Med Cap boosters provide more cap per second, and use less PG, at the expense of CPU and a med slot. So on ships like the Domi, with a PG defficit and lots of meds, its perfect. ---------- This space is for rent. That makes me a rent boy. Contact me for details. |

glass domi \o/
that tank will be eaten alive by a blasterthon, especially if its a plate/neutron fit and a medium cap booster wont be enough to keep you running. You have more chance of killing a mega in a domi with neuts and a really solid tank!
That said, glass domi's are fun, just scrap your tank and fit neutron blasters, mag stabs and whatever fitting mods you require, best damage dealer in a gang, you will be suprised how long you live

For most tier 1 BS it is either that or plate tank. And yeah if I were to platetank + trimark, im already spending so much on riggings whats another 10mil on the mega.

Oh and im not talking about dueling a mega with a domi, sorry for any confusion. Comparing the two for straight up gank not worried so much about survival.
Gonna have a bait-tackler cheapo maller and if its something too much I wont bite.

It is cheep DPS, but 1000dps can be tanked for 10min, were 1300 will crumple a tank in 1-2min
I think 2x EANMII is better then kin+therm hardner

Go neut domi then. Have the bait alt use ECM drones if possible. Jamed and with no cap....you can almost go AFK while the drones do the dirty work.
Anything packing a single heavy neut, or two, will turn the tables on your posted setup quick.

I think a lot of these high dps fits seems to assume the enemy will sit still just trying to dish out a lower damage and just well do nothing more.
I mean alot of ships even if webbed can stay out of the blasters tracking speed and drones are poppable esp. heavies so i can not see these ships utilizing its full gankness potential in a lot of cases. ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Are you talking with, or without Implants. 'Cause i only get about 1050 - 1100 from my Mega with BS 5, T2 Ogres, Drone Interfacing 5, Blaster Spec 4 and Two MFS. ---

Then your set-up is pretty good, its got enough tank to survive nothing too heavy, and ofc you have good DPS, however you will have cap problems, might be worth sorting that problem out by using your rig slots. I would be tempted to fit 2x ancillary current rigs, that will give you enough PG to fit a heavy cap booster and a hybrid burst rig. So your getting more DPS and more Cap
Oh and that set-up above.. yes thats pretty much it

It's great that there are so many ways to fit the dominix - What are grand little whale it is. A setup that I have been toying with, and kind of like, is the following:
HIGH: 4 x EBC 2 X IBC
MID:
1 x Warpdrive II 1 x Web (good named) 1 x medium cap. booster II 1 x Disruptor II 1 x ECM, SB or whatever takes your fancy
LOW: 1 x MFS 2 x EANM II 3 x 1600 plates (Best named) 1 x DC
RIGS. 3 x trimark
Drones: Same old mix.
That is a lovely toy with over 1.000 DPS and 142.110 EHP.

Not bad for dps, but don't engage megathrons in that. It will melt.

flew blaster domi plated up 4-5 times. Lost them all :). For 1v1 its uber. However 2 x BS will def eat u alive. On a neut/nos setup running dual LAR tho u might stand a better chance. It's got great staying ability, but when solo-ing ... you just know you'll get blobbed and blobbed again. In a gang it's a great dps dealer, better than a mega imo because of it's versatility with drones.

Is there any BS that could win against two other BS's assuming no Intel before hand.

depends on what they are, if it happens to be 2 ravens tanked for kin/therm and I'm in an amarr bs, or if they have 5mil sp each
but if everyones well fit and well skilled, then sounds like doom for mr 1

Phoon, Domi, Gank Mega with trimarks. I'm not saying they have a big chance to win, they have a remote chance to win, and a better chance to survive the fight, as in gtfo/dock/jump-out :)

The Domi is good. Because a ship that costs 40% can beat it in a 1v1 is not a reason not to use the Domi. It's fun and cheap.

First setup is awfull. Why:
if u can select who u fight, then dont fit active tank. If u loose LAR and fit totally buffered tank, u can fit more dps to it and cap wont be a problem if u are not against something with neutralizers.
I would suggest that u fit buffer tank, 2x 1600mm plate, 2x eanm, DCU II, MFS II, u will probably be station camping, so drop a mwd, u wont be needing it anyway coz u will engage targets close to your maller alt, so u just warp to him and web the target. with this said, u can fit neutrons which should increase your dps quite alot. and since u get one mid slot from dropping mwd, u can always fit some omni drone module for better tracking of your ogres II..

My excellent domi setup which will pwn yours... Since yours will only last for like, 44 seconds...
High: - 5x heavy neutron II (yes, medium guns, they do as much dps as your electron cannons) - 1x remote rep or 1x neutralizer
Medium: - 1x 100MN mwd - 2x Heavy Cap booster (teh pwn, plenty of storage in domi for charges) - Point - Web / sensor booster
Low: - 2x LAR II (excellent repping, enough cap to last long time if you micro-manage it well) - 1x DCU II - 1x 1600 plate - 1x Kin / Therm / Explosive active hardener
Drones: - 5x Ogre II (top damage, good HP, live longer) - 5x Berserker II (top expl. damage, faster) - 5x Acolyte II (for EM damage on little frigs) - 5x Warrior II (to chase fast inties) - 5x EC-300 (to chicken out of 1v1 fights ^^) - 5x hammerhead II (good medium damage drones, kills AFs very fast
Rigs: - 1x CCC (extra cap regen, first rig gives good boost) - 1x Extra armor rep (for those 2 reppers, dont use repping cycle rigs, they will cause your reppers to rep faster, but also drain your cap faster... therefore, extra repping > faster repping, you have a buffer, no problem)
