Why is it that CCP won't accept Paypal or any other types of payment, surely they dont believe that all of their paying customers use or even have access to credit cards!?!
After emailing them several times and getting deadbeat replies, i want to see if the community at large thinks we should have more payment types offered, after all, not all of us by far can use credit card for whatever reason.

After Being Scammed numerous times on Ebay, i for one can appreciate why CCP don't allow Paypal.
Payments can be cancelled upto a month after the've been authorized, Leaving the Seller out of pocket.
Gametime Cards were specificly introduced to allow Customers access to Eve without Credit Cards.

Yes, but how do you expect players without a credit card to be able to access several of the account management features, namely transferrign characters and portraits.
I buy all my GTCs using paypal, and never had any problems as a buyer, and i can only conclude by the fact that paypal is still accepted, that the seller has no problems with it too.

By that logic then CCP should not use credit cards then, because there's always been issues with them, fraudulent use, cloning, blocking payments.
Fact is paypal is a widely accepted payment method by a large number mmo producers on the market and they've had no major issues with it otherwise we'ed have heard. ------------------------------------------ Sig removed as it lacks EVE-related content. Thats all well and good for paying for a subscription, and thank you for the reply. But however could you please shed some light on how we are supposed to sell characters to other players if we dont have a credit card?
Thats what i'd like to know.
Thanks for your time Tang

Thats all well and good but you forgot to add on this part
There is a small fee for using one of the PayByCashÖ payment options that will result in a slightly higher subscription fee for your EVE Online account.
* Monthly, recurring Direct Debit = $17.95 * 3-month subscription = $39.95 * 6-month subscription = $74.95
Thanx but no thanx

OMFG...
Does few $ fee really matter? Come on... Think about how much you waste money on useless things in your normal life? And then you're whining about little tiny fee?

anybody should be able to figure that out. that when you introduce another company into the chain they have to make something from it too.

Edited by: Mankirks Wife on 01/06/2008 04:07:30 Probably because they don't want to pay Paypal's fees (plus put up with all of Paypal's bull****). Their other options seem to impose the fees on the buyer than the seller.
Also as others have said, it's really easy to scam on Paypal virtually risk-free if you know the loopholes. Shady game like Eve + easily exploitable payment method?

You pay interest on a CC, you pay a small fee using Paybycash, you wont pay by isk through GTC's.
I think your only way around it is to move to iceland and walk to CCP Accounting department and hand over your $15 a month. That would be the cheapest way for you. Good luck with that.

99% of people that don't have credit cards are either kids or can't get access to a credit card for any other reason (probably because they're awful people and have terrible credit so they had that privilege taken away from them.)
I personally don't want to be playing the same game with either of these types of people so, no, no paypal. Go away kid/awful person.

omg... this comment is too funny. People without credit cards are awful people? I'm getting images of roaming mobs hunting "those non credit card users". I don't have a credit card, had one... used it, decided they're pointless for me in my possition, so guess i'm a bad person. The irony of this post is that it makes you look like both a kid and a awful person.
On the note of paypal, you can pay through paypal. |

There is also something called pay pal credit card, for all you noobs that love it so much and don't seem to know about it. It's basically a debit card, but funds only get debited from your account 3 days after purchase. You also have a spending limit of 2k per transaction and 400 daily cash withdrawals.

Edited by: Shinzu Takigawa on 03/06/2008 11:58:18 Yeah I never understood that. CCP are based in Iceland which is close to the United Kingdom but they don't accept english bank cards or even maestro payments but they do accept american credit cards....what a shocka.
So UK peeps without debt ( credit yeah right ) cards are stuck with GTC's which are now hiking in price because 30 days will no longer be available.......grrrr.
But.....they do accept some other european countrys debit cards.
Maestro is accepted all over the world so how about it CCP?
