Given the reaction to the dev blog about the ship changes, I have a simple set of steps that will stop you looking like quite such an idiot:
- Actually read the dev blog
- Take a little time to read the other replies. If there are too many, at least read the comments by the devs. This can be done by clicking on the blue bar against a dev comment (such as the first in the topic), which will take you to the next dev comment.
- If your concerns haven't been addressed in one of the dev comments, then feel free to raise it.
Suggestions for having people take you seriously:
- Don't use all caps. This makes you look like you don't know what the shift key is for.
- Let your browser's spellchecker correct your spelling.
- Paragraphs. Learn to love them, if you have a lot to say.
- Punctuation. Use commas where someone would normally take a breath. Use fullstops to separate clauses. Use semicolons to separate clauses which are closely related.
- Don't use text-speak based contractions; such as u for you. You have, in all probability, a fullsized keyboard in front of you. It smacks of laziness.
While following these simple rules may not make people agree with you, it reduces the chance of just being dismissed as another idiot who can't be bothered to actually think about what they're doing.

^ OP also forgot to mention that pro dev blog commenters always run to general discussion. Then they wait for 2 posts discussing the dev blog to be posted. Then the pro dev blog commenter hurry and rush posts a 3rd thread in general discussion wanting to discuss the latest dev blog. That is how the magic happens. disorientating |

OP you could simply use one line to say that people are seflish in sensationailising things for their own agenda. Doubt it needs a patronising lesson in language use or interpretation to do this, unless of course it is just an anal troll message. Bounty Hunting for CSM 7

Overreaction and sperging is generally the only way to get their attention. They usually completely forgo player and CSM feedback and purge forward on their FEARLESS plan unless the lolcustomer cage starts rattling (see the current dev blog and how it never, ever occurred to him to get feedback).
Remember you have to break their "we are so fearless and we are so awesome and we are so amazing" circlejerk in order to get a message across. |

I notice you use the word "read" quite a bit in your OP. Is this absolutely necessary?

To be perfectly honest, the tone of my post is patronizing. I'll admit that freely.
However, you only have to look at the most recent mass of replies to the ship balancing dev blog, to see that people don't bother checking to see if their questions have already been answered. So you end up with 20 pages of exactly the same questions and outrage. I could understand a page or two after a dev post. It takes time to write, after all. Over ten, on the other hand, suggests they aren't reading. Or are really slow typists.

Fine. But at least try to be up to date.

Important stuff is discussed in GD with huge passion spiced with fair amount of trolling.
1. Refined bits are copy pasted to dev blog comment thread. 2. If dev gives attitude, fails to reply and/or doesn't agree with the refined bit start new thread in GD. 3. Go back to step 1.

Any thread with more than 50 pages has deserved a pony - this has quite a journey to get there.
Perhaps a cow instead?
