Hello, I have been considering an Osprey PVP viable setup for awhile , if its not an entire waste and wanted to get some setups and opinions, I have sen alot and read a few and such and often many are gank models like
2 x H. missile launchers 1 med. neut blaster /w antimatter (other weapon or Medium Nos 2)
1 scrambler 2-3 webbers 1 MWD if not 3 webbers
nano plating 400-500 mm plate medium rep
i see alot of gank stuff like that, but also wanted to hear more, and i know this is not what i would call optimal setup, and also the plan is for more like 4-5 members for small gang skirmish
As for drones wasn't sure on 4x Hobs or ECMs
any and all help is appreciated tyvm

Edited by: DubanFP on 21/05/2008 03:37:49 The osprey gets a bonus to shield transfers. If you're not going to use this bonus the osprey is a horrible choice for a PVP ship. It's just not built for PVP like this. If you want a baitship the caracal should do fine. With a couple Large shield extenders the tank isn't too bad, it's not much more expensive, and it's still a favored target for pirates. _______________

The Osprey is not meant for pvp.. its meant for chewing rocks.

But it's funny when they sit there at a belt with 1 mining laser activated and someone in a frigate tries to flip them, only to be webbed and scrambled and then killed :D --

Rubbish! I've racked up well over 20 kills using an Osprey - they work well because not many people expect to get anything other than an easy gank against one and tend to get a bit gung-ho! Just start thinking outside the box.

I agree. With the ability to fit a 1600mm plate, after your shields drop and your enemy thinks they have it in the bag...your armor barely budges. Gets 'em every time. This is actually a very fun ship to mess around with. With really good skills, it's even better!

first of: passive armor tank without a DC II its simply dumb, the DC give you almost the same buffer as the 800mm plate at 1 PG cost: if you realy will not put both ( wrong choice ) then use DC istead.
that told heres what i would use:
hi: 3x small neutron blasters II, 1x small neut II
med: med electochemical( with 800's), scrambler, webber , webber ( or passive targeter)
low: MAR, DC2, 800mm rolled
how to use it: obviusly you aim to trap t1/t2 frigs .. not pvp cruisers.. you will never win a well fitted cruiser, and frigs will come into web range. You have not to mwd to them.... they will mwd to you, then once webbed and scrambled, they will die..
1 or 2 webbers? the second web will make you almost 100% sure they will never warp away, but the passive targeter is interesting too. you lock them immediatly after they come in belt , but they dont notice that. once attacked you have not to wait your lock time. Its up to you.
