EVE doesn't take that much to run, I can still use a 5 year old computer and still get it to work on max settings without a problem. A good internet connection is more important tbh.
If you want to play something like Skyrim on max settings, just buy something from alienware or use their systems as a benchmark. |

While I Agree With You There,I have Used a more powerful machine in the past only it was taken to be used as something else.So the chances of it coming back are slim. But,If you see something beautiful[EVE As an Example] you want to see it again. This Thing just dont cut it Thankyou for reading! |

Actually, the most important component for gaming these days is the GPU. As long as the CPU doesn't bottleneck the GPU, you can continue to run your system in perpetuity. Once the CPU bottlenecks the GPU, no GPU upgrade will help you.
The likelihood this will happen to you these days is pretty rare. I've only run into it once. And that was due to me trying to extend the life of a 7 year old computer with a GPU upgrade. We want breast augmentations and sluttier clothing in the NeX! |

PC 1:
-Intel i7 920 @ 3.6 Ghz -Corsair H60 -EVGA X58 SLI -12GB 1600mhz Patriot memory -EVGA GTX 260 -2x 1TB WD drives in RAID -standard dell peripherals, cheap ASUS 1920x1200 TN monitor
PC 2 (main box for EVE):
-Intel i7 930 @ 4.0 Ghz -Corsair A70 -ASUS P6X58D-E PRO -6GB 1600mhz Corsair Dominator memory -2x EVGA GTX 460 in SLI -120GB Corsair Force GT -About 3TB of other hard disk storage -2x Dell U2412M (1920x1200 IPS) -Logitech keyboard and mouse
Both of these pc's run 3 eve clients on low detail fairly easily, the first one has more trouble when settings are turned up but it can still run pretty much any modern PC game at high settings without a problem |

Best thing about it is the 42" LG displaying it =) 1080p eve is where it's at!

If you're going for single box then I strongly recommend 2 screens. Or 3 if you run more accounts.
Having dotlan, killboards, intel and other stuff all up without having to minimise client stops your brain from mushing or embarrassing losses while you look at stuff on the interweb. Now I have a 2008 machine with 4gb ram, a 4850 hd and an E8400 that should run at 2.8ghz. But the piece i'm most proud if is the power supply. Never underestimate the importance of a proper power supply. I had to change my mind about this, once I thought that a ****** power supply would do the job, but now with these graphic cards around you need a good supply in order to have a long lasting machine.
Before the one that I have now, I had not a "proper" computer. I had a set of hardware pieces put on my desk, out of any case, at the left of the keyboard and screen, +á la "dead cockroach", with only Linux installed. I had a screwdriver I used to turn it on, just by short-circuiting the right pin pair. On the right days, with the right weather, you could even see a spark. It was nice because when it was not willing to start up, I could just move the ram chips a bit and it worked; and when it was doing something I had to wait for long, instead of staring at the screen you could stare at the fans and the hardware, that looked much better.
The old days.
That was a real Minmatar machine. |
