How are you going to fix the possibility that people might just join the faction just so that they show up friendly to other people and then kill them in low sec?
Immense standings loss if you kill a member of your own faction?
Some other way?
This is the one thing that been bothering me about the idea.

1. Apparently, a long time ago in eve there were events that happened ingame that affected real things in eve. ( I heard about a serpentis dreadnought or something)
-Are we gonna see anything like this in the EA? A dev controlled capital fleet showing up to assault a important station for a special event?
2. "Militia pilots that successfully scan for a complex and hold it uncontested for a set amount of time will claim it for their faction, and be rewarded with corporate standing-as well as more tangible benefits"
-Are these going to be able to be found with the on-board scanner? Please tell me there will at least be upper-level complexes that can only be found using probes for all us Exploration pilots out there!

Will this new update be mandatory for everyone: meaning can we carry on what we want to do without being involved with war. All this will do if it is mandatory to be involved is favour the long standing players with great skills and funds and can easily pwn any new players. I personally want to see a continuance in peacable gameplay without having to be involved with unnecessary violence.

Question: Are there any plans to allow corps/players/alliances to sign up against someone rather than for them?
For example, several groups like my own would be interested in attacking one or all of the empires, but not to fight for any of them. If signing FOR someone is the only way of entry, this will mean that FW participants would end up having to either wardec us OR be penalized by their empires for shooting someone that is hostile to said empire. (F.ex, we run rampant in Black Rise killing people - we're not worried about our sec status - so Caldari FW participants decide to take us out but then end up getting standing losses and sec status hits for shooting non-FW participants. This would be a bit broken.)

I am interested on a few things that are on my mind. First you said there is a war, will high security systems be affected. Second how can I join the war effort if the war has already started. And third will I be able to quit the war effort at any given time and how would that be accomplished.

I was curious about:
1. Will you change any of the basic systems that are being discussed for a long time like : changing DDs, changing ship stats or basic mechanics or will it be focused mainly on this new interaction with the eve univers and our friends the other player.
2. Will Black Ops been looked at? Maybe changes in the cloaking system or rebalancing issues?
3. Skill Queying?
4. Jump clone changes?
5. Triage Modules?
6. Useness of Assault frigs?

One of the devs responded to this in a different thread, he said you will only be able to sign up for a side at initial release. No signing up against. But that it may be introduced later

Will there be any mining equipment upgrades or new mining equipment? If so what are they?
Will there be any salvaging drones as this would help make the game faster.

Not specifically related to this expansion, but about NPC wrecks and their loot cans. Heavy Assault missiles were now introduced some time ago, yet for every other ammo type, including drones, smartbombs, crystals, charges and all the other types of missiles, pilots can receive ammo from dropped cans, yet those of us using HAML do not, having to carry more as we can't get additional ammo when ratting, missioning, etc.
Are there plans to rectify this by having some ships drop HAMs?

If the audio is choppy make sure the eve voice output is set to your primary audio output device, not some generic driver.

I was wondering if there were any plans to make it possible to train an additional skill. IE 2 skills for one player or 1 skill each for multiple players on an account, maybe at an additional fee. Sorta like how you can have an alt char with a different account. I believe this would help some newer players be able to adapt and thrive better/faster.

Will the new expansion feature an Eve-voice that works? I heard a couple of words before the Live Dev Blog started, but now I can't hear anything.
Please type your answer so I can understand what you are saying :)

Sounds terrific here. Perhaps more so than Vent or TS, at least to me. Great beginning to a novel by the way...

Edited by: Rhys Onasi on 15/05/2008 20:11:38 Accordign to some people the dev blog has started.
It's the first time I've used EVE Voice, but I have audio enabled and eve voice enabled and still can't hear anything.
Other people can barely hear anything, but is garbled.
Any tips on how to fix this? (PLease post or something, as I won't be able to hear you)
EDIT: Never mind, restarted eve and everything works!

IF you have trouble with audio:
Make sure your audio output device is set to your main audio output device. Go to the menu, select the audio tab and under EVE Voice make sure your output device is correct.

Deselect, "audio enabled" in the escape menu.
