I, like many of you fine and upstanding pod pilots, have spent most of my life in space. I have traveled from one end of New Eden to the other, from the Serpent's Coil to the Eve gate. Yet no matter how much of New Eden I see, I never cease to be amazed by the majesty, the unadulterated beauty of it all.
Having spent the last few months traveling, I bring dire news to all pod pilots within earshot of this transmission. We are destroying New Eden. Yes, us. Pod Pilots.
Anyone who has spent time in a low security asteroid belt knows that there are few sights more awe inspiring. Huge asteroids the size of space stations gently tumbling through the void. Unfortunately, one must brave pirates, rogue drones and all sorts of unsavory characters to get a glimpse of an unspoiled asteroid belt. In concord-protected space, the asteroid belt is nothing more than a collection of dust and discarded containers, space trash and the shattered remains of nomad scouts. You're hard pressed to find a single asteroid of any substantial size in a high security belt.
Meanwhile, huge exhumers fitted with strip-miner modules rip and tear away at what little is left of nature, illegally filling up their jetcans because the holds on board their mining barges are no longer sufficient to satisfy their hunger for ore.
Even the relative solitude of deep space is not safe from those that would destroy the natural beauty of New Eden's high security systems. Uncharted asteroid fields are stripped bare, entire fleets of nomadic people are shattered by huge warships, their remains left tumbling through the emptiness, marring the face of New Eden.
I say - no more.
No more will I stand idly by and allow our shared frontier to be turned into a midden trash heap.
I, along with two of my closest confidants, have founded Synthesis Deep Salvage - a non-profit corporation dedicated to the preservation of New Eden's High security systems.
Our operations seek to attack the problem twofold. First, we seek to encourage those engaged in illegal mining operations (those involving jetcans, of course) to abide by the simplest rules of mining. Fill your hold, or your secure container (properly registered with CONCORD) with ore, then return to station and refine it. Do not seek to maximize your already unfathomable profits by littering our beautiful natural belts with your jetcans.
Secondly, using a unique scan-probing technique, we plan to seek out war profiteers in the remote areas of High Security space and salvage the wrecks that they so flippantly leave behind. So much material in said wrecks can be recycled and reused, thus reducing strain on our already taxed mineral supply!
So there you have it. As previously stated, Synthesis Deep Salvage is a non-profit organization, sustained by the sale of the discarded material and illegally-mined ore we recover. Donations are humbly welcomed, if you should be a fellow environmentally concerned pilot.
Please, do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns. Enjoy your travels through our beautiful home, and do take care not to misuse it's bounty.
[Straighten your hat, sir.]

I almost forgot, should you observe a solar system that could benefit from our presence, don't hesitate to contact either myself or our booking agent Maradan Dust.
High security space ONLY. I wasn't born yesterday, you lawless polluters.

I'd rather not "have a go" at anyone, sir. I only hope to encourage miners to do their jobs in an environmentally sustainable manner.

I'm unsure what the problem really is now, considering jettisoned canisters are now programed to explode under a certain amount of time, as well as various clean-up acts being enacted to help reduce the amount of clutter in various areas. -----

If any still doubt my sincerity, heed this message. Mr. Laebtrovo, as always, your endorsement lends an air of class and legitimacy to any enterprise.

I only seek to reduce the clutter more, sir - as well as help to conserve our dwindling mineral supplies.

I'm far from a scofflaw, sir, but I daresay that CONCORD is a bit behind the curve on environmental issues. They will come around eventually, I'm sure, as the problem becomes more pronounced.
As for their turning a blind eye to Miners who go mad with greed and fire on those that would enforce some minimum environmental standard on their operation, what can I say? It comes with the territory, I'm afraid. It never ceases to amaze me what lengths these rapists of the natural world will go to to line their pockets. More than once, I've been forced to defend myself against their misplaced aggression...such an ungentlemanly situation...but one must protect his ship and crew when necessary.

It's a shame we live amongst so much mistrust. Even to-the-point plain speech is called duplicitous. I'm just a simple public servant, sir - working a thankless job, trying to ensure that our home remains beautiful and bountiful for future generations to enjoy.

Well, it's certainly true that there have been calls for restraint in hisec ore harvesting in the past, but I must say that the few remaining high-security asteroid fields are scarcely worth saving. The truly beautiful asteroids, such as bistot, have been long-since mined out, while the dominant remaining veldspar is awe-inspiring mostly in the sense of any large rock.
Admittedly, a conservationist movement in nullsec would have to cope with getting shot at a lot, but it seems as though a such a movement might focus its efforts where there's still something worth saving-- assuming, that is, that conservation is the aim.

It seems we have another one of these. Do you know from where a majority of the materials to make your vessel originate? Many of the asteroids you described before. So, in essence, your search for more pilots with more vessels is only fueling the drive for corporations such as Outer Rim Excavations to continue their operations, to fuel the demand for the raw materials to make these vessels.
Funny how things work like that, eh?

Would that it were all about beauty. That common Veldspar is rich in tritanium, which, as you well know, formulates the building blocks of most technology we use.
I realize that the mining must be done to sustain our way of life, but I also believe it must be done responsibly. These miners have the gall to circumvent normal mining protocol and mine into cavernous jetcans to increase the pace with which they chew through our last remaining safe mineral deposits.
Lazy and wasteful. It just wont do.

Who is deciding standard mining protocol? On top of that, how is it wasteful when the materials are in the end used. (provided the containers whether ship, jettisoned, or anchored are not destroyed.) -----

Shaun, don't bother with this reprobate. He's just looking for a thin veneer of legitimacy for can-flipping and unauthorised salvage operations. |

Are you trying to steal other's property under the cover of ecology?
I can't believe the "non-profit" part... Taking all this ore from their rightful owners will earn you millions, so where will this money be spent so we can consider it to be a non-profit organization? -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

Any proceeds from the sale of salvage and confiscated ore are used for the upkeep and expansion of our environmental reclamation fleet.

I'm sure there must be a few combat fit vessels in that. This seems less and less tolerable as the discussion goes along.
While I am skeptical that this individual's goal is solid, I'd like to hear him answer the questions I placed before him earlier. -----
