I am looking got buy a decent laptop from ebay of course I am home computer literate but laptops are a little different and I would like to know what I should be looking for in a laptop.
Basically I am looking for a laptop that will be able to handle Eve and Teamspeak. I dont want to go out and spend thousands of dollars on the latest and greatest I am not a power hungry person but something that will last for awhile.
I am sure someone is going to ask me if I want to play classic client or premium client and I will answer with I prefer classic atm seeing that I have read that alot of laptop users are haveing some minor issues with the premium client. I just want a decent Laptop for a decent price. The prices on ebay are kinda makeing me made cause the price I would pay on ebay would be almost if not the same price if I went out and bought a brand spanking new laptop.
So if someone could help me out and give me some advice I would be much grateful for it. Thank-you in advance Najenna

I can offer a few tips and pointers here:
As you're looking at second hand equipment try to look for known brand names then you can look up the specs on the original manufacturer's website.
For a laptop to work as a gaming machine the minimum you should aim for would be a machine with either a Pentium "M", Core 2 or desktop Core-2 processor (AMD Options are Turion or Athlon64), minimum of 1GB Ram and Geforce 7-series graphics card (the later should have dedicated memory) screen size would depend on what else you wish to do with the laptop but most sold as gaming rigs would have a large or high-resolution display (15.4" upwards).
Obvious other things to look for would be built-in Wi-Fi and/or Ethernet.
the type of Laptop most suited to your needs would be one sold as a "Desktop replacement" or of course (at a higher price) a gaming laptop such as an Alienware or Dell XPS.

Only problems ive had with it was sorting out SATA drivers to install WinXP over ****ty Vista and some heat problems which were sorted with some compressed air
Oh and ask about student discout (if you are one that is lol)

SATA drivers can be slipstreamed, heck, I guess someone here could make an ISO for someone that asks if needed :P
