i was just exploring some belts as normal.. then suddenly my on the last belt it just sat there flashing at me ate all my power then i got killed by pirates all the wile it just flashing at me saying its working. but going 100ms with a mwd and not even moving.. something is seriously wrong with this. lag has gotten horrable the past 3 days. now i don't think this was a lag death just a faulty mwd that worked just fine a few seconds ago

if you to near an asteroid it will limit the speed to a fraction of your normal speed (this affects all type of speed boostet and non boosted)

Perhaps you were being warp scrambled amd webified?

well it didn't tell me i was webbed, but i have never been webed before and can they web at 20km? thats when i first hit my mwd i don't think i was near a roid but i was trying to head towards them to go under them. but it never moved. i was just in some microcosmic blackhole that even microwarp wouldn't let me out of.i wasnt moving at all. even though it said i was going 100ms

I am not sure of this but i know you can scramble warp with warp disruptor from 20k range so i guess there's a webifier device with that range too.

I found a wabbifier that can operate in 12500m range. But, i dont know if the Jovian effect can remain still? They experimented with some deep space stasis web (read the news from 2003.06.04) I got affected by it while transporting some large loads of zydrine once ;) But, most likely as someone else said... Your were probably to close to an asteroid or similiar.

I have noticed that if you're inbetween a few rocks... or really close to one, say less than hundred meters away...
then the ship AI really seem to have some trouble... it if isn't going over 100 m7s then it can't seem to go through an asteroid...
so it tries to go around it.. only, this doesn't seem to be implemented very well in the AI.. cause it seem to wish to do it at ultra-low speeds.. and if you've set your ship to go to warp.. then it'll say 'warping to bla-bla-bla' only.. it's not doing it till it's gotten beyond the nearest obstacle.. which takes a tremendeous amount of time.
and while it's "warping" you can't navigate. I haven't gotten killed by this yet.. but it's just a matter of time... really.

yes this same thing happend to me last night, it's a bug and it very nearly got me killed.. ccp need to put in an abort warp feature because when this happens you have no choice but to sit and pray you get away. _______________________________________________ Ahaahhhh you didn't count on my loyal army of Prostitutes did you? |

Sounds weird,I also had weird problems propably lag related sometimes during battles. Now if I know I go somwhere where there can be trouble I first look very carefully if the lag is not to heavy, sometimes I reload the game, seems to help a bit.

I've often seen this type of warp lock, when just moving between rock belts and a near by station. You end up 'in warp' but not going anywhere, while the game is still running around you. While doing safe mining runs this is not much of a problem, but at other times it means that you are dead.
It looks as if it is a client issue, if I close the client and restart I often comeback to my ship as it starts to execuite the warp jump.

Had a similar problem to this last night - got stuck between two roids after being webified - I'd killed the dirty-fighting pirates easily but the webified effect remained for at least 10 mins while my Moa sturggled to do 4m/s through the rocks.
When I eventually got away I thought "Lucky".
Next time I went to the belt I suffered huge lagg targetting 3 Serpentis Soldiers and a Drug Courier - then I crashed.
Logged back on to find my Moa with no shield, 50% armor, and webified and warp-jammed.
By the time I managed to kill the pirates (which took forever due to having only long-range weapons and the pirates being only 3km away from me) I was down to 6% armor and 21% hull.
I really don't mind getting a spankin' in a fair fight but the ingame issues with lag and unreliability are starting to ruin my enjoyment of the game.
The disconnection issue is that, even in a kickass Moa, I can't travel to a dangerous system for fear of being disconnected and shot down while offline.
So, I'm sitting in 1.0 systems mining pyro with the other n00bs when I should be exploring the Outer edges of space and finding good loot.

I had a lag issue the other night. Warped into a belt with 2 marauders and 3 predators. Normally a decent fight, I found I couldn't activate any shield boosters, screens, guns, or anything else. I couldn't change direction. I flew on like that for a while, until I was nearly dead, at which point I logged, knowing I could no longer win and blaming the lag for my loss. At that point the server crashed. About 20 mins later when I finally logged back in again, I found my ship with 100% shields, armor and hull. Bless the Eve Gods. :)

I think it has to do with an asteroid at your position (a collidable object) blocked you. It sometimes happens and you get "stuck", limiting the speed to as low as 20m/s (on my bestower anyways) and will stay that low until you are "pushed/rubbed" past it, or until you navigate around it manually. Problem is, when you go to warp and get stuck right before turning into the direction, you will not be allowed to warp and you can't navigate around either since you can't navigate in warp (You aren't really warping just then yet but are flagged as doing so). It's a definite bug, I'm guessing it will be fixed, although maybe not in the very near future.

Warp scramblers also appear to be able to scramble MWD's now, as its basicly a "micro *WARP* drive" [see the connection between a small warp drive and a warp scrambler?]. So it probably isn't a bug, it's a feature! :P ___________________________________________________
