What is the largest effective missile that I can fit against interceptors?
Thanks

rockets? light missiles maybe.
Don't go heavy though, since they hit for nothing.

Also invest heavily in missile projection (increases the missile's speed) and missile target prediction (increases explosion speed, causing the damage reduction due to target speed to be less).

Effective? Don't bother. Any interceptor pilot worth his salt will outrun all your missiles, drones, etc. Better to figure out how to slow an interceptor down.

If they move slower than about 6km/s, you can spam Precision Lights at them. Not much else is going to do more than 0.0 damage. If they're faster than 6km/s, they'll shrug em off.
I can tell you that anything going faster than 4-5km/s will shrug off any Heavy Missile you throw at it, and 5km/s is trivial in an Interceptor. Heck, my Executioner hits 4.4km/s with a T1 MWD and my poor Navigation skills. -------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales FIRST!! -Yipsilanti Pfft. Never such a thing as a "last chance". ;) -Rauth |

I've had heavies spammed against my Stiletto by a Drake once. I don't think my average speed was ever more than around 3 km/s with the various turns and such I was making. He must have hit me with two dozen missiles and maybe took 10-20% of my shields away. Shows how effective heavies are.
Precision lights will do the trick as well, and rockets aren't completely ineffective if the interceptor stays in range. Truth be told though if an interceptor is going fast enough to actually evade everything you throw at them, they aren't going to be doing **** all damage to you thanks to high traversal rates, and probably won't even be able to stay within 1-point scram range given their turning ability at 6/7 km/s. Of course it's this situation where the Crow really shines because it uses missiles itself and isn't reliant on traversal.

Yes, rockets may not be ineffective against inties...but it assumes you are in a ship that can keep up with the intie at less than 7.5km away, which means you would have him webbed too.

If you manage to hit, Cruise from a Stealth Bomber can do some damage. The SB has a bonus that lets cruise missiles hit smaller targets with more damage. If you manage to hit.

I don't believe there are currently any missiles in game that can catch an interceptor. If the Inty is using a speed tank and orbiting you can occasionally hit them with lights. If the going gets tough they'll just fly away though. As stated velocity and prediction is the way to go.
There was a pilot in the Delve area a couple of years ago that could hit 25+ Km/sec with snake implants. Once a pilot gets to Inty V you're pretty much assured they can go 8+ Km/sec if they have a clue at all. |

Precision light missiles or with luck a stealthbomber with cruise.
