Edited by: 7shining7one7 on 19/03/2008 21:14:47 got any interesting setups for the eos? i'm looking to take it out on mission running and exploration sites, or should i just toss it for that purpose and go for the astarte to get more dmg.
also anyone else having some EM issues when fighting npc's since the resist change? i find that even with compensation skills maxed you kinda need some faction EM hardeners.
it's not a whine thread, just want to know how you guys have adapted to the changes? i find it hits the smaller elite ships quite hard, so i'm looking for how to gracefully adapt to that.

Take the Astarte. The Eos can tank a little better, but the damage it outputs pales in comparison to the Astarte. If you are concerned about drones, you will do as much damage with 5 mediums on the Astarte as you would do with 5 mediums on the Eos (Eos doesn't get a drone damage bonus).
I tried doing plex's and missions with the Eos post-change, and while the ship tanked well (so long as you had a setup that could perma-run a dual rep), the damage was not enough to finish the mission/plex in any reasonable amount of time. You can't dps-tank the Eos for missions/plex's. It is simply impossible.
There are two major advantages that the Eos holds over the Astarte in mission running. First advantage is that the Eos has 2 utility high slots now. Since you are doing PVE you will probably not need the gang links (and information warfare is less than useful in pve). Second the Eos is dirt cheap right now. You can buy them below cost now I believe. The Astarte, however, has had a massive jump in price due to it being the only viable command ship for the gallente in pvp. You can probably buy 2-3 Eos for 1 Astarte.
If you want to know how people adapted to the change, they either bought an Astarte or trained for another race's command ship.
Setup:
Hi: 5 x 250mm Railgun II 1 x salvager 1 x tractor beam
Mid: 4 x Cap Recharger II
Low: 2 x Medium Armor Repper II 3 x Race specific hardeners T2 1 x Damage control II
Drones: Rat specific but at least 1 wave of 2 heavy, 2 medium, 1 light and 1 wave of 5 light.
Rigs: 1 x Aux Nano Pump 1 x Cap Control Circuit
That should tank nearly anything short of a monster exploration plex if you set the hardeners right.
If I had an Alt I would probably post with it... |

what spenz says
people will argue until they are blue in the face that the eos is better than the astarte. ignore them, its not. the eos fits a specific role now (gang role) and the astarte is better in other roles tbh.

the EOS used to be better then the astarte this was only the case when the EOS could field 5x Heavies, since the drone bandwith deal it can nolonger do that so go with astarte
