Rumors have been flourishing in recent days about the upcoming intergalactic grand lottery game also known as the 'BIG Lottery'.
Mass hysteria grasped pilots all over the galaxy about the previously unheard of amount, the news seemed to spread faster then the subspace chat channels allow, making thousands leave their current occupations and reach the nearest station to buy, what seems to be, the chance to win a brand new life style.
"I cant believe its so easy!", said an amarrian accountant - "and the ticket costs next to nothing!". The secret to the huge success of the BIG Lottery is the low cost of each ticket, people are often seen buying several tickets to increase their chances of success and to become the next galaxy wide known winner.
Technology has come a long way since the lottery concept was first conceived, and now participating in the BIG Lottery events is as simple as a click of the button, from anywhere in the galaxy.
These news are indeed what makes our galaxy as great as it is. There is nothing more wonderful then waking up in the morning and finding out that you are 10 million ISK richer! BIG Lottery

Time to move this little BIG Lottery intro to the new boards
Please note that all the BIG Lottery pages are designed for ingame use, and thus look very poorly in your out of game browser.
FAQ Q : When is the drawing? A : Please check the BIG Lottery link. That page will always have the updated info.
Q : How *often* is the BIG Lottery held? A : Each round lasts 2 weeks, and the next round starts the second the former round has ended. A new round always start at 00:00 EVE-time between sunday and monday.
Q : How do I buy tickets? A : Please read either the BIG Lottery page, which has a 'How to' at the bottom of the page, or check the top of the Rules page for more detailed info.
Please read twice... Q : I want to buy 3 tickets. Should I wire 1000 ISK 3 times, or can I wire 3000 ISK in one go? A : Please wire it all at once! I have to enter each and every entry by hand into the BIG Lottery database. Please dont wire me 1000 ISK 30 times, as some has done.
Q : How can I be sure this is not a scam? A : You cant - simple as that. Either you trust us or you dont. If you mistrust us, dont play. But I encourage you to ask around if BIG can be trusted or not, I think you will find that the answer is "Yes BIG is very thrustworthy".
Q : Uhm it would be nice with some sort of 'Proof of Purchase', can I have that please? A : Sure thing - Check the Receipts page (only works ingame)
Q : Do I have to be present at the drawing in the ingame channel BIG Games in order to win? A : Nope. Taking part in the actual drawing is optional. But please show up, it's good fun :)
Q : Thats all very nice but what can I Win! A : The prize money varies in size, but has always been in the multi-millions. Check the BIG Lottery Winners page to see excactly how much past winners have won.
Please spread the word - the more people that takes part, the BIGger the prize money will become.
Good Luck!

A : Yes [;)]
-----
If you wanted to, you could purchase for 10 mill ISK tickets each and every time (thus gaining incredible high odds of winning), and you would probably win 8-9 out of every 10 BIG Lotteries.
If you feel like gambling like that - Go ahead [;)]

@Groan UUnngghh
As Ga'****an points out, there is no way 'pleasing' everyone.
No matter which way I do it ~50% will think it's the wrong way around.
So I've opted for the way I myself is used to see it, as this at least should increase the chance of me keeping it consistent, and thus avoid (further) confusion.
It's a valid point - that just lacks a solution that will 'please' everyone. BIG Lottery

@Freak
Don't worry, its all ASP driven :), but the DB the ASP pages take the info from has to be filled up with data first.
Currently its not even possible to copy/paste the stuff from your jurnal, so therefore I have to painstakenly type each and every entry in the journal *into* the DB, before the ASP pages can do their job :)
CCP fixed it so we could save chatlogs - Ever since I've been crossing my fingers that they would also make it possible to do the same thing with the journal....
Thanks for offering assistence though (care for me to send you some screenshots of my journal, that you then could type into the DB - onyl help I really need atm :))) ) BIG Lottery

As already stated elsewhere, the *minimum* prize of 50M seems to indeed be a 'minimum'.
This rounds (#7) prize is by far going to exceed the promiced minimum of 50M.
So take a stab at getting filthy rich, and by some tickets already

Wrong
If its one person puttng in 35M or several persons doing it, your chance is excactly the same.
And as this is a 100M+ drawing you shouldnt be too surpriced by the odds.
Let me also remind you that we once had someone who had only bought a single ticket win it
So instead of dispairing, rejoice about the fact that there will be so much more cash to win BIG Lottery

Click it: Nearly a quarter of a billion in price money to be won......
You do realize you stand a (very roughly) 50% chance of loosing it all......
Hats of to you for giving the rest of the EVEians this chance though!
EDIT : ROFL I need to change my DB setup now - it was never intended to cope with such large numbers BIG Lottery

@Hiigara Soban
The above is my point, I never said that you had the same chance *as* someone putting in 35M.
The basic principle is, the more ISK in the pot, the more (obviosly) ISK there is to win, but at the same time it will reduce the chance of any single ticket to be the winning ticket.
If you want the chance at winning a large pot, you have to accept that each ticket wil have a smaller chance of winning.
If you want a large chance of winning, you have to hope for a small pot - Do you want a small pot?

The reciepts gets 'flushed' after each drawing. The purpose beeing that you at any time can see which tickets you hold in the *current* round of the lottery.
For what it's worth - I actaully remember seeing your name in my wallet journal - So you where most certainly entered
I also remember you sending "BIG Games" a mail - unfortunatly you did not have that char in your addressbook, and thus you will recieve no reply. Mails will not be answered if you dont have "BIG Games" in your adressbook.
Please also be aware that *all* entries are entered *manually* into the Lottery DB (date, name and amount). I try to do this once a day, but sometimes RL can mean I'll be a day or two behind. Another reason for a receipt not showing, could be that I've simply mistyped your name (it happens). Even if a mistyping occurs you are *still* entered into the lottery, as it only means that the DB lookup fails when you search for your receipt. Should your tickets win, the typo will be spotted at the latest when I try to send the prize BIG Lottery

I can't prove a thing Kapacs. How would you ever prove any of those?
Every single winner ever is listed on the Lottery pages - Send them a mail, check their employment history etc... I dunno... Whatever rocks your boat.
You either believe it's legit or not. If not - then dont buy tickets.
My reputation is the only 'proof' I got of this beeing legit - Simple as that really.
A reputation without which The BIG Deal would never have been possible. People have trusted me with 6.5B ISK (and raising) - That in itself speaks volumes of the trust some people put in me. BIG Lottery

Holy Thread-Resurrection Batman....
Dear Belsazzar - Clicking one of the *numerous* BIG Lottery (<-- theres another) links in the first two post of this thread, will bring you to the BIG Lottery (<-- theres another one ) pages, where you can find your answers to all of that - and more.
On another note - To think that (nearly) 3 years ago - 10M ISK was a BIG Deal (<-- Yet Another Link (YAL) - But to something completly different this time)
I guess we do have inflation in EVE afterall
