` making my second EVE-O recruitment post.
I donFt really want to make any more of these, so letFs be clear on a few things, shall we?
First off, what I am looking for is, beyond endless conflict, beyond fighting for a reason, other than fbecause we canF, it is, a home. A *permanent* home.
IFm sick and tired of hopping corps every month or every other month` I want ONE corp, one place to stay where I will feel at home, and where the need to move will not exist.
If this corp is a member of an alliance or not, donFt matter, all IFd like to see it have, is thus:
-High activity percentage. I do not want to be a part of a corp/alliance where I hardly ever see my corp/alliance mates online, regardless of numbers.
-Fighting spirit. I enjoy combat, I absolutely *love* good fights, therefore IFll need a place where people donFt cover away from a war-declaration, but rather smile and rejoice.
-An understanding that RL -> EVE any time. I do have a life, despite spending a good amount of time online mostly. If I need to leave over whatever reason IFd like not to be scolded or yelled at because I was needed, even if that was the case. I will ofc. Try and offer warning in due time if I know I will need to leave later.
-No nano-gangs. On the same principle as the fwill to fightF above, I donFt like nano-gangs. A nano-setup is a way to turn your powerful and usually expensive ship into a ganking-vessel, one that usually runs little risk of being destroyed. I find the very idea of nano-fitting a ship like this cowardly, and the only use I see for a nano-setup is if *all* other tactical options are exhausted.
-Comradery. IFll stress the importance of this. I do not want to be in a corporation where specific members, either due to positions in corp/alliance, character age, skill point count, character race, skill/knowledge/experience of PVP/industry or lack thereof, are faboveF or fbeyondF others. I just canFt stand such elitism and fIFm more uber than youF attitudes. Such childish foolishness ****es me off.
-Skill; or will to gain it. In this regard let me be clear. Character skill-point count means nearly nothing to me. If you started playing in 03 or 08 donFt matter much as long as you know what youFre doing, in PVP/industry or are willing and eager to learn. I donFt know everything, and would be willing to learn from those that know better than me. I do know something, IFd like to think, a lot, about this game; and I am willing to pass on and teach said knowledge to anyone of those who want/need/ask for it.
-Anti-piracy, anti macro, and all the things in between. I dislike the idea of piracy, though I donFt fhateF all pirates. The more pirates, the more targets for me. I will not harm just anyone in low-sec for no good reason and would like to see my corp keep to the same ideal. I dislike macroers as I feel they are fcheatingF and generally messing up the game for everyone. Thus, a corp that allows macroing or condones macroing in general will not keep me as a member for long, if at all. The same goes for scamming, griefing and all such foolish practises.
-A mature attitude. Joking around is fine, and I do have a sense of humour and would like to be around others that does as well. However mindless smacking, taunting, flaming and general mouth-diarrhea is childish and tasteless, another factor that ****es me off. Plz, if your going to fight, use your weapons, and if your enemy refuses to fight, they are either cowardly (thus, not worth the time) or out-right smart. If *you* would not engage what you have in what the enemy have, then donFt whine about it.
-EURO/US time-zone coverage. I live in Europe, so follows a European time zone mostly, however sometimes IFm up later at night, gaming, and thus slide over in a US time zone. Primarily IFd like a high EURO percentage but having US covered nicely would be a bonus, plus, Americans and other US TZ people are still nice to know/chat with.

-A home in 0.0 would be nice, I like 0.0 and have enjoyed living in fun-regulatedF space a lot. There is no Concord, there is no law. Only the one you make yourself. As stated above I donFt like to mindlessly hurt people randomly in low sec, but this is low sec. In 0.0 you are aware of the dangers or you learn of them soon enough. NBSI policy is fine with me, though I kind of like the more friendly NRDS as well. When discussing homes in 0.0, an outpost (that needs defending/keeping) will be far better than an NPC station, as those allow just anyone to dock and therefore one can never guarantee safety. Ofc, fsafetyF is a relative term in null-sec but you know what I mean`
- Industrial abilities. While I love fighting and am a PVPFer at heart, I have an industrial alt that I desire to use. Also, industry, like mining, salvaging, refining, production etc. is a calming and nice alternative to fighting. I am capable and highly willing to help out any industrial operations the corp/alliance might want to indulge in and highly respect fcarebearsF. As a matter of fact, IFm not too fond of the hostile attitude many PVPFers seem to have against industrial oriented players. Where do you think that fancy HAC you drive came from again? Industrials make, PVPFers destroy, this makes EVE go-round, as it was.
-Freedom of character. IFve been in organisations where people have dictated what I skill, what I fly, and how I fit what IFm dictated to fly. Screw that. I do *not* want to be pushed about; I am not just some tool for the leadership to boss around. I fly what I want, when I want, because I want or can afford it, or because itFs useful/needed in the given situation. I will not train for dread fbecause you say soF I will not skills for large T2 rails yet, simply because you order it. If BSFs with T2 large guns are needed, let those with skills do it. If support is needed, then IFll fly a kick-a** support vessel and do my part. Do not dictate what I do, by all means; give orders in gangs/corp/alliance, but donFt presume to tell me how I play or skill my character.
-Avoid the great war. Wherever one goes in the coalition vs. Alliance war you get huge bucket-loads of lagg, super fleets clashing with super fleets in extremely interesting slide-shows and random CTDFs. Just this evening, in empire, I CTDFed 4 times in 30 minutes as a direct result of 1200 reported people in NOL. I have no desire to join either the coalition, (helping the goons) or the Alliance, (helping BoB) as I have problems deciding who I like the least of the two.
-Lastly, IFve realized there are about 3 things IFve not done in EVE. Pirated (NOT an option) roleplayed (No idea what faction really, though I have a good grasp of the essential nature of Rolepalying (Have the D&D books and dice etc. I do RP online with people from time to time) so itFs not the biggest problem.) and last but not least, IFve never been a mercenary. Either a merc life or a RPFing angle migt suit me, it all depends what one offers and what seems interesting.
Well, that should be it` I canFt remember any more points really so IFll go over to listing what I offer. First however, keep in mind that not all of the above *must* be covered. IFve listed what I look for and the corp that can satisfy the most of the above pointers and sounds interesting enough will prob. end up with a new member.
Also, keep in mind that IFm not 100% sure I will leave my current corp any time soon, it might actually be a little while before I actually leave. Thanks for your patience.

What I offer, to any corp/alliance who are recruiting:
A 22 years old male European, with a mature (I hope) attitude and a slight sense of humour. I canFt be on all the time, but when I am IFll help out with whatever needs doing, as best I can.
A working headset, with Mic and ventrilo/TS installed and working. NOTE: There is a slight issue with Vent as my local internet provider donFt seem to like it much, in the past itFs been giving me serious trouble and in many case made voice coms over vent impossible. A new test lately seems to indicate this problem *might* be resolved, at least to a degree.
IFd prefer if those I join use voice coms in operations and even on a daily basis as it eases up communications. *And* because I have an annoying typo-issue that, despite all my years typing, never seems to be resolved. -.-;;
A character with nearly 27 million skillpoints, though I am sort of a fjack of all tradesF. I can fly AFFs inties, bombers, covert ops, EAS, HAC, HIC, recons, dictors and a multitude of other vessels, I am mostly PVP oriented with millions of SPFs in gunnery, spaceship command, drones, electronics etc.
An industrial based alt that can do most things my main canFt do in industry, and that have really good skills for the things she can do.
There is more, but IFm fairly tired now and canFt remember the rest >.<
IFll post this and we will see whatFs beneath this line next time I look at it :D --------------------------- If you don't want to get hurt, stop giving me ammo. |

I don't think I could adequately address all your concerns, except to say that we meet the vast majority of them. The core players have been together for almost three years, we all left the Great War because it was boring, and we have quite the collegiate corporate environment.
Let me hit you with some spam:
A bit about us: we're a motley assortment of about 40 ex-BoB/ex-MC/ex-0utbreak players, averaging about 40m SPs, that got bored with POS warfare and sovereignty disputes and moved back to Empire to do some good old fashion pew pew. We're competent, laid-back and pretty nice guys.
We're interested in recruiting another ten players to join us in our merry adventures.
If this sounds interesting to you, please get in touch with me, Tomski Ruslav, RichThugster, Deja Thoris or Marovinchian in-game, or just join our public channel, Invicta-Public.

Basically, just glance us over and drop me a line. I'll be happy to talk with you much more in-depth.

Hey BB,
Well, we're not exactly covered well in the US timezone. We do have a Dutch member who works during the evenings and tends to play until the early hours, but for the rest it's (at least at this time) rather light on the late night coverage.
We're comrades in every way, I'm part of a group that knows each other in real life (often leading to some funny pictures mocking some of them), the rest of the corp fits in nicely. We like to know our members, there simply isn't much fun in playing if you're playing with John Does, really.
We like to work as a group and indeed, there is no place for nanos in decent teamwork. Remote repairing is our game, just like reconnaissance and coordinated EW.
As far as fighting spirit. Well. I'm more inclinced to point at our losses than our kills as it illustrates nicely that we don't exactly give up ;)
We condone piracy, sorry. It's up to the members to engage in such activities or not. All we keep them on a short leash for is for their security ratings. Macros are quite obviously not allowed, same with blatant scams.
Anyway, if you're interested, just have a look on our website at www.EVE-Exiled.org or see our recruitment thread elsewhere. Somewhere. Erm, just look at my forum history or something
Good luck in finding the corp of your dreams either way bud :) ---

Thanks, sounds like a good offer, to just about anyone.
However, I can allready see a line of things that would be counter-productive to my enjoyment of your corp. (low EU-timezone, piracy tendecies etc.)
Thanks for the offer, and the subsequent bump, but I'm afraid I'll have to turn your offer down. Good luck with your reqruitment though! --------------------------- If you don't want to get hurt, stop giving me ammo. |

Well maybe you would like a chat about the corp I am in, its a freelancing corp with a mature and friendly ethos.
I am not a particularly old char and I joined FUN as my first corp about 9 months back and moved out to their 0.0 home pretty much imediately. I found myself ganging with vets from 03 and other relatively new folks, helpful, fun to be in corp with. They helped me out and whatever I choose to get involved in there was always some friendly advice and folks willing to help. And there's always a good bunch online.
We do the whole shebang, pvp, industry, market stuff and have a lot of fun, mainly Euro TZ but we have a bunch of US/NA players also. Anything you might want to indulge in, chances are we have folks who will freely help you out.
We dont roll in nano gangs, and we do make hard targets. In FUN no-one is required to pvp, under any circumstances. And RL obviously comes first.
The corp has no tax and we require nothing from you, you are free to set your own level of involvement and no one will pressure you. If you are doing your own thing in Empire or solo hunting ratters in 0.0 there isn't anybody who will be hassling you to 'X up' or 'get on vent'
As for PVP, the bulk of us live in syndicate, where we have mainted a presence for the past 14 months and we have reds visiting every day, when we dont go visiting them. So plenty of fun, if you fancy getting involved in it. We have Vent and TS and can use whatever depending on the situation.
If you fancy a go at it, drop onto our recruitment channel FUN-Recruiting and have a chat, maybe you can come on out and test the waters, see what you think. Either way best of luck in your search for a new home. ---------------

BloodBird, If you think you might like to try it...we are a small corp, with big goals. I've been in the eve part you spoke of in your post above. Even did the pirate thing. But decided to settle down and enjoy a nice group of friends. We are mainly an industrial corp but a couple of us are still pvp'ers at heart. We have goals for 0.0 and our worth is growing quickly. We also have the connections and friends to settle just about anywhere in 0.0 if we choose to go that path. Right now we have some big idea's and arent afraid to try em. We're training a few more special skills to get in a grove. Our ideas seem pretty fun and we're gonna give em a go. If you want to try something new and different stop in our public chat JUMBO and get to know everyone. We could really use any industrial alts you may have. We have TS and dont require forums. Emnity Preston, Blue Max, Zikka, Johho Bulon, Ombey, Eric Yu, and whatever your name was, the guy in Dirty deeds corp... (Axiom Empire)
Your corporations sounds interesting, if one desires 0.0 living and operation. While I have lived in 0.0 ALOT and have indeed enjoyed it, I tire of the huge blob vs blob wars fought in many areas and I fully expect, that while it would be interesting seeing new people and perhaps living in a new place, I'd also tire of the politics very soon.
I find it unlikely I'll join your alliance(s), or any of the ones mentioned below, for the reasons stated above and a few reasons individual to the various factions below.
All of these have granted me an offer:
Axiom Empire Firmus Ixion Intrepid crossing Insurgency KIA Alliance Triumvirate Unaffiliated SMASH Alliance ROADKILL Bionic Dawn Black Star Alliance
(Think there was a couple more, but I can't recall who it was...)
All of these have offered me a place in one of their corporations, some (Think it was ROADKILL and another one...) even granted me offers from diffrent corporations.
The reasons I will *MOST LIKELY* not join you are stated above, and a few of you I got even more reasons not to join. These are varied, some a minor. Some are major.
Yes, I know, I'm a picky bastard. But if I'm not happy where I am It won't last long and then the point of joining will go away.
If I don't find any faction that seems like the right choice I might end up taking my pick out of all the above, making a compromise to join the one that seems the better option. Don't worry, I might join you yet, just don't COUNT on that I will, you might be dissapointed.
I'm looking into a few smaller factions, like merc corps and the like. I'm also considering some RP'ing corps/alliances. A few smaller, but capable PVP corporations are also in my spotlight.
Again, thank you all for the offers. It's great knowing one's skill and knowledge is desired, gives one options. I got no clue yet where I will go, though some places are more tempting than others. --------------------------- Seeking corp to join: http://myeve.eve-online.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=713156 (This will have to do, stupid URL won't work >.<) |

Hi Bloodbird, We certainly can't cover all of your diverse and as you say "picky" reasons but we're a fairly relaxed and aimiable corp in an alliance with a similar attitude. We are currently recruiting PvPers and would be more than will to have a chat regarding a mutual trial basis with no pre-reqs. Red Dwarf Mining Corporation are currently based in Syndicate and looking to greatly expand our PvP operations. Certainly joining us would provide the challenge that you seem to want. Look forward to hearing from you if you're interested. Please contact via e-mail or in game convo.
