why will they not let you "trash" them or make them go away if they have not been idle for 3 weeks????
is there some logic behind this???
i would love an explanation

Uh, to make it harder for people to cover their tracks if they steal from you?

Yeah, that's great and all. But if I own the damned container and I'm the only one that has used it I should damn well be able to delete the stupid thing whenever I want to.
However, all hope is not lost. You can contract them to an alt and then kiss them goodbye.

Yes pretty annoying, just give it a password protection or make sure only the owner of said can can make it go away instead of that silly waiting time.
That or make some unsecure station cans for the makers sake. _______________________________________________________ CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

The point of these containers having an audit log is for corporation use. There's no flag on them that says who "owns" them and the password is what you need to take stuff from them, which goes into the audit log, which is the point of the audit log.
No.

Well then like i stated, make some unsecure station containers allready.
Tbh i would like to see an ability to divide once personal hanger into sections like u can do with corphangars, cuz that (for me atleast) would remove the need to use station cans at all. _______________________________________________________ CCP, let us pay the online shop with Direct Debit!!!

It'd be nice if there was a way of "hiding" objects in your hangar. So you can unclutter your hangar view by filtering out all of the collectibles and such, or make it show you only one kind of object (tick "ammo & drones", untick everything else, peruse your ammo collection in peace without the other 800 item stacks cluttering you up). ------

120,000 m3 vs 1,000,000 m3 is the most notable difference. You also can't lock items in freight containers or set passwords on them. Freight containers are also ten times more expensive.
But yeah, the freight containers are generally fine for most things. It's what I use now.

This annoys me too.
I move around quite a bit and have old containers at several stations.

I want hangar divisions in my personal hangar, like the corp ones do, i was kinda suprised when i found one had them and not the other even if you only make three or four, it'd be enough to keep stuff pretty well sorted...

Empty the container. Rename it to something like "Empty 2008-02-20" - so you don't loose track of how long it's been. Go on about your business for three weeks. Open your assets tab and trash the item from wherever you happen to be.

A few patches back they added a pretty nice filter to the list-view of all container windows. But it was kind of buggy and they removed it a few patches later. However, the item type column is still not the same as it was before.
Back before they messed with it, the item type column grouped similar items together even if alphabetically they would be different. For example, instead of all blueprints being grouped together like they used to be, they are currently split up by category (cruiser blueprint, hybrid ammo blueprint, etc) so when looking for them I have to play "find the blueprint" among all the other junk in my hangar. It's even worse for containers of different sizes... Giant secure containers are group with the G's and Small secure containers are grouped with the S's. Before they changed it, all the cans would be grouped together, and all the blueprints would be grouped together, etc.
It would be nice if they applied the kind of filters the assets window has for the current station, but actually let you interact with each item normally.

I suspect you would be very unhappy to discover a disgruntled director trashed a station container that had all the T2 BPOs before leaving your corp. Or, you go on vacation to the outer rim for 4 weeks only to discover that the high-sec container "went away". As others suggested, if you are in a sole proprietorship or need large containers in your personal hangar, try using freighter containers. ---------------- Mutatis Mutandis |

and if all you have are blueprints, the smallest containers work just as well as any... how many blueprints would it take to fill up 100 m3??

The second annoying thing is that a secure container could take in all cargo while the unsecure cannot take in certain people (however some do fit still) and other random loot you get from missions.
