Edited by: Merin Ryskin on 11/02/2008 19:53:04 See, here's the thing: we're not flaming you for flying with expensive modules fitted. We're flaming you for flying with expensive modules fitted in an incredibly stupid way. Faction loot is good, if you have the ISK to pay for it. But you should at least try to do it right... faction-fitting a command ship for solo pvp makes sense, and can give you excellent results in the long run. Faction-fitting a tackler frigate is just stupid, even with all of the best modules in the game, you're still flying a paper-thin suicide ship.
Now, your two mistakes:
1) You wrote this up as a good PvP setup, not an expensive toy. You spent three full posts explaining in great detail why each of your modules was a good choice and made a good contribution to the setup. You brag about the tanking ability, damage output, etc, as if your numbers were actually impressive. If you'd just said "I'm rich, bow in awe of my huge wallet and the things I can waste ISK on", we'd all understand. Many people have done exactly that, flying stupidly overpriced setups into PvP just for the fun of it. I've done it myself, with a fully Serpentis-fitted Vigilant. The difference is we are at least honest about it being an absurd waste of money, and nowhere near cost-effective.
2) You just fit expensive stuff without any thought about whether it's actually making a significant difference. For example, paying 115 million more for faction magstabs to get a whole 5 dps over T2. Or 115 million ISK for that damage control to get an extra 41 HP. These are absurdly trivial increases. It's a safe bet that over the entire life of that ship, you will NEVER be in a fight where those tiny increases will actually make a difference. But yet you talk about it as giving good "isk/use compromise". Oh yeah, and you didn't even bother checking to realize that T2 guns are better than faction, you just throw on the most expensive module you can find.
Now compare this to a ship where it really counts... for example, buying Caldari Navy tank mods for my Vulture, which lets me tank an extra 500 dps. Kind of makes that 41 HP look rather pathetic, huh? Or maybe put those faction magstabs on a Deimos, where you get an extra 40 dps... still not cost effective, but marginally less stupid. Or faction MWDs on an interceptor, which take you over the threshold from "hard to kill" to "completely invulnerable".
So yeah, we're not flaming you for spending lots of money on a ship. We're flaming you for throwing it away in painfully stupid ways, and then posting a brag thread that essentially says "ha ha, I have more isk than you noobs, don't you wish you could be awesome like me?".

Running a locator on him as we speak. I quite fancy your insta-poppable in a suicide gank catalyst ship with 500m in loot as another skull on my throne. Careful where you fly it ;)

Too late, sadly. He already lost this ship trying to tackle a Drake. Though I imagine if you keep an eye on him, he'll find some other stupidly overpriced lootcan-with-engines to fly soon enough.

Welp
The problem with that abomination is it is fitted incredibly poorly, but the modules are worth next to nothing. As much as I'd like to see that poor Moros put out of its misery, you'd probably make more money running him off and killing the rats than you would killing his ship.
