I'm thinking "destruction derby" is NOT a valid analogy, because ALL the cars are pretty much totaled in those events. ON the other hand a high % of all drivers, even careful (carebear) drivers are involved in MAJOR accidents. In the case of rare cars even a fender bender can be catastrophic. Ever try to find a 1930 studabaker fender in a junk yard? And yet people still drive cars like that around....

Okay, how about doing submachine-gun drive-bys in a Spyker C6 in a tank fight?
Will that work as an analogy?

Okay wait wait wait wait wait.
After reading his post, Jarimir does have a very valid point. You all just didn't digest it.
My old Toyota Supra (which is now a collectors item) which was tricked out to the gills had the most expensive car stereo you would ever have laid your eyes on.
I'm talking it had 4 10" subwoofers, 2 12" subs, and 4 mids with 4 dome tweeters. The system was being run from my headunit out to 5 amplifiers (2 for the mains, 3 for the subs.. 2 10" were sharing a single amp at 400 RMS each, 2000 peak. The 12" got 600 RMS at 2400 peak). I also had a voltmeter which checked to see how many volts I had on a constant stream. It was usually around 12.9). Anyway, enough with the specs. That 600 RMS amp that I bought cost me $1000. I could have gotten one that had only 500 RMS for the sub that would have only cost me $350, but I wanted to be an audiophile and get the nicer amp. It had a clearer signal, better equalization, a really nice heatsink (important on big amps) and improved internal voltage control (to prevent hiss and distortion). HUGE difference in price, SMALL return on performance -- to some people.
Now look, I spent probably every bit of spending money that I had after bills from my paycheck every month to upgrade my car stereo. And when new stuff came out, I was on top of finding the best upgrades and everything. And you know what? I loved every moment of doing it. It was rewarding for me to take my hard earned money and give my car the best damned stereo that I could. It was NICE. I didn't have to play it loud, it was clear, beautiful and crisp. Lots of bass too :)
So here's the dirt on how much I spent on it:
Over the course of 2 years, I spent 1 1/2 years working on the stereo. Each month I had a spending budget of $260 spending money to play with to buy toys, etc.
$260 x 18 = $4680. That doesn't count money I got from Christmas, birthdays, the occasional bonus check, etc.
That is a LOT of money to spend on a car stereo, isn't it? I mean, why spend close to five thousand dollars when I can spend five hundred dollars to get something similar? Because I CAN.
In EVE, you do what you want to do. I chose to stuff my Comet to the gills with modules that I really wanted. And I spent my $4680 on my Comet, and don't really have much money for anything else right now. That is my decision. I do not dictate what you should do with your fittings or tell you that that module doesn't belong on that ship.
So, let's end the trolls and flames with "you are an idiot" and change it to "damn you are crazy" because I really am. I know that one day that ship is going to pop. You know what I'm gonna do when it does? Well, first I'm gonna warp my pod (lol), then I'm gonna open my killmail, look it over, post it on my killboard and then go buy another ship.
Then sing a song about my ship. And maybe make a video. :) _________________ Burn.

"never argue with an idiot, it will just drag you down to it's level and beat you with experience..."
This really sums it up, that "fitting" is not worth the time to discuss, it is like discussing with my mate why his passive shield tanked omen is a bad idea; with him defending it (and himself) like crazy " i want to be different" " i can own level 1's in it"
Trying to point out why war and suffering is bad to someone that obviously don't want to understand it can be frustrating really.

That expensive car could be in an accident or someone could steal it!"? Granted in RL you can get insurance to cover everything in a car in addition to damage you do to other people's cars, so let's say that it's a one of a kind or rare car that no ammount of money can replace realistically. People still drive those cars.
Now, would you bring a Ferrari you worked a lifetime to buy on a demolition match, or you do prefer a PLATED(tm) Focus?

This
Funniest thing, if we are into RL comparisons, a plated truck (Rupture/Thorax for instance) is way more effective then your Ferrari at the demolition derby what PvP really is, in addition to being vastly cheaper.
It is inferior for showing around, but PvP isn't showing around, it's destruction derby
Then again, the OP used the Comet in only one (1) action, a statistically valid example

If you want an expensive pimp frig go for the Daredevil or another of my personal ones the navy slicer, its pretty fast and agile with a modest tank and damage output.
3x Dual light pulse II (use faction crystals) 1x Small Nosferatu II
1MN MWD II Warp scrambler II
Small armor rep II 2x Adaptive nano plating II Damage control II Heatsink II
Still expensive enough to go ouch when it goes pop but not stupidly expensive in the 100s of mills category, just try not to take it into fights you know your not going to win.
And yes I know pimp frigates suck but they are like pokemons I gotta have em all

An utter waste of isk. However the thread itself was well written and quite enjoyable to read. I think the op just wanted a shiney toy rather than to be amazingly leet. If this setup actually was intended to actually be competative when compared to other (better) altenatives then the OP is indeed an utter cretin.

Oh and probably irrelevant as I believe you have this ship just for shiny.RP purposes but: with skills all at level 5 tech II blasters give you more dps due to being effected by specialisation skills.
/facepalm
I knew about the Spec bonuses but sort of didn't think about it until looonnngg after I got the guns.
And yeah, I have the Comet as a toy. But that doesn't mean I don't use it and stuff. :) It feels great to fly it around :D _________________ Burn.

Gistii A-Type 1MN Afterburner Micro F-RX Prototype I Capacitor Boost, Cap Booster 25 Domination Warp Scrambler

Assuming you actually make this insane setup in-game instead of just dreaming about it in EFT, you are spending 560 million ISK + 950 million for the implants. And what do you get? A ship that's less effective than an assault frigate, arguably the most underpowered ship class in the game. So essentially, you will die very quickly, and you will make someone very happy when they open your wreck.
Though I have to admit, you do get some points for the priceless humor of using the words "bang for the buck" to describe paying 115 million ISK more to add a staggering 5 dps to this disaster of a setup.
I own the ship, I said that at the end of the thread.
Fine. Then you:
1) Buy ISK on ebay, substituting your parents' credit card for actual skill and knowledge
and/or
2) Are an utter moron.
Like I said... using the term "bang for the buck" to describe spending 115 million ISK to get 5 dps on a ship that will insta-pop to any serious opponent just defines beautiful irony.
But just to be constructive, allow me to present MY "bang for the buck" setup that completely trashes yours in every area. By the way, even with the two faction modules, mine still costs around 50-60 million, meaning for every one of your insane setups, I can buy TEN of mine. I think I will win.

All smack aside i am realy strugling why youd want to fly that ship, spending horendous amounts of isk can be justified on ships you dont think you are going to lose at all often, if ever like tackling Crows etc.
Imho unless you are running a specifically a small ship gang frigates only real job is to hold down opponents and tackle, prehaps with some anti support but thats about the face of it.
You are 1/3 as fast as almost any cruiser fitted with a MWD so tackling is out (as is escaping), and then leaves us with dps and your "tank". Your dps is nice for a frigate but is hardly fantastic and your tank...well its ok for a frigate i guess but any light drone swarm is going to murk you.
And there is the added problem of you publicising to the whole of the EVE O Forumites that you actually fly this ship.
Please tell me why on earth youd fly this over an Enyo which would cost a 50th of the price.
If youve actually fit this ship i can only hope you get some fun out of it before you get destroyed by some willy forumite in the near future.
