Yes, there are a number of women in Eve, a number of them very very serious PvPers. I've spoke with several on Team Speak.
But assume nothing until you hear them on TS or vent (and in theory, even that could be faked).
as for Al Gore, he strikes me as an honestly well meaning guy, but his "science" is utter and complete trash that has been taken over by PURELY politically motivated greens. No science at all, just green "screamer" politics.
Which tragic, as there ARE real environmental issues out there, but at present I'm forced by Gore and Friends to assume everything they say is a lie until it is confirmed by someone that does not respect them.
Play nice while you butcher each other.

Originally by: Paul Castrin Kind of odd you can't find more females playing EVE because I'd think that EVE would be more conductive to females playing then other more stereotypical games that prefer to focus on the physical "aspects" of the female avatar than the intellectual.
Having said that I know of at least two in our corp and I think another couple in the alliance as a whole.
I'm sure there are many more out there (wasn't there a census recently that covered gender split in EVE?) so good luck in your quest. Best to get into a corp that uses Teamspeak to be sure the avatar matches the player's gender.
Peace.
While eve places a low emphasis on avatar boobies, it also places a high emphasis on the kind of behaviour that most women don't find enjoyable.

Think of a simple 2x2 grid. On the left is the chances its real, and on the top are our options for doing something about it.
The Combinations
1) Its not real, and we do nothing about it.
All's well, in this case. We don't spend any cash working on the problem, or impact the economy with more efficient but costly measure, and the Earth goes through its natural cycle of warming and cooling without our influence.
2) Its not real, and we do something about it.
We burn cash in order to fix a problem that's not there. On the bright side, we have a better environment, but it may have seriously impacted the global economy in the process.
3) Its real, and we do nothing about it.
Two words - ice caps. Know how much of humanity lives on the coastline? A lot. Know that thing called the Gulf Stream? Without ice the heat exchanger that drives it may be lost, hello cold Europe. And on top of that, increased heat can hurt our crops, wildlife, and so on. We just shot ourselves pretty hard in the foot.
4) Its real, and we do something about it.
It would cost money, but because we'd do something to stall or even reverse the process, we'd be preserving our environment for future generations to come.
The only thing we can really choose is our reaction, with the aim of avoiding scenario 3 at all costs. Therefore, the logical choice assuming equal probability of all 4 events in my mind is to do something to stop global warming. I'd rather err on the side of caution, especially when countless lives are at stake in the short- and mid-term.

Yes, there are some out there, and yes, they're the vast minority. Why? Who knows, who cares. Not like it matters overmuch anyway.

Quoted for truth. I can count on two hands the amount of guy-girls that approached me for credits when I was playing SWG.

Sorry there is no real proof that global warming is a problem. The earth's temperature has gone up and down before humans even walked the earth. Seems like everyone has "drunk the kool-aid". See: http://xtronics.com/reference/globalwarming.htm

Eventhough there is truth in what you are saying there is no proof that this has any impact on the situation today.

Women, join the WGOE_Public channel (I think that's it), and talk about women-stuff to your hearts content!
And some women in game play with male avatars, I don't see the problem.
