At stations when I try to sell my refined ore etc..., I almost ALWAYS get a message saying that the Person wants more or the order is expired. How do I avoid getting this message

hi,
I sometimes get that msg too. So either the buyer has no money to buy it (shows a popup then mins are returned to your hangar then) or the buyer's buyorder has expired so you'll have ti find another buyer :S
That's all i know, i hope it helps

You can also look at the advanced market info for an item and check the demand for it. Sometimes you'll have to fly to your buyer but that's the current limit of the Eve economy tools. Hopefully they'll improve soon. If all else fails just put your stuff up as a sell order and it will move sooner or later.

There are three possible reasons that I know of:
(1) buyer doesn't have enough money in his account to pay for your ores. There's nothing you can do about this, but it shouldn't happen often because the buyer gets fined 10% of his buy order every time it happens.
(2) someone else filled the order at the same time that you're trying to. This is highly unlikely.
(3) most likely of all, the buyer has set a "minimum buy quantity" .. so, for example, you might be trying to sell him 2,000 veldspar and he has a buy order for half a million of it, but he will only accept it in lumps of 10k at a time or greater.
The way to get round this is to stack your ores up for a few days and then sell in bulk; or, as suggested above, place your ore on a sell order at the same price, and wait for him to notice and buy it from you. If he never does, then before long you'll have enough bulk to sell it to him directly anyway.

Point (1) it's most likely source of your problem. True fact is that fine actually doesn't work, person who have no cash will not be fined for it. Buy orders for high price where buyer has no cash aren't removed. So this guy practicaly blocked sale on that station because people who have money but put ask price lower will not get order filled by you.
There is no way to see all buy orders with all amounts and prices except that one with highest price in. If person have no money then you are outa luck. It should be source for scam or just plain economic war with someone. Easy send money to alt char put buy orders for insame price and amounts and then move cash back to your main alt. Done and market in that station/region is efectively blocked.
I would like to see it fixed by CCP ASAP. It making my live hard even as person who put buy orders because I need a lot of stuff from market but I see this tactics being now most common. As my buy orders are over-bided by these people who has no cash.

I would rahter think point 3 is the source of your problem actually.
When i buy ore or minerals in bulk i use region or contellation wide orders at low prices, but will set a minimum amount so it's worth getting the stuff. Im not waiting ofr a chance to make 5 jumps in an industrial for 150K tritanium.

If you don't need the cash that minute, it's usually better to use sell orders and put up a price that suits you.
For example, I mine kernite but don't refine it atm (refine of 2). Best price locally was 72 and was 6 jumps away. A 12 jump round trip in an indy! I just put the whole lot up for sale at 75 and went and did more mining. By the time I got back to the station, the kernite was already gone! Let someone else use their time transporting it.
Another good thing with sell orders is having a decent sized stockpile. If someone wants 10K of isogen and you're selling that much at 68 isk. The buyer will come to you if his other option is 850 isogen@62. 4 jumps - 750 [email protected]. 3 more jumps - 1050 isogen@64. 5 more jumps etc...
And don't always judge how much something is worth by the prices on that day. Supply and demand constantly fluctuate. Figure out what you think is a fair price for your goods, and don't worry about what the bulk buyers want to pay. Put your goods up on the market and if they're priced fairly then someone will buy them on your terms.
