Just some thoughts I had on Hi-Sec POS warfare defense that are probably worthless but I thought I'd see if anyone thought they would work.
Instead of much of any weaponry on a Hi-Sec POS during war, why not add to the general annoyance of taking down a hardened POS. Fitted as follows:
5x Hardeners: Don't want to make it easy.
6x Warp Disruption and 6x Webbers: Don't let them go back and reload and keep them parked here for a while.
4x White Noise and 4x Damps: Make it take longer to lock and break that lock fairly often (or is it still ridiculously easy to lock any tower structure so just put 8 White Noise?)
(Gallente tower) 2x Small Blaster and 4x Small Railgun and 2x Medium Railgun: Might as well plink away at them while they are sitting there webbed and no going anywhere.
This is all just random thoughts I'm throwing out there. If it doesn't work I'll stick with the standard harden your tower and make it take weeks (or at least enough hours to annoy) to take down. |

Not sure why you would want to use a gallente tower. Either way I find blasters have way too small of a range to be useful.
Ditch the dampners, replace with more ECM.
6 webbers is abit excessive, try 3-4 at most, and if you can get the domination ones (97.5% instead of 75%).
Caldari or Minmatar tower is the best. 5 hardners is a good standard fittout.
Hardners, ECM and a good medium gun set is usually enough.

At the very least add 9 hardeners (1 on the 50% base resist, 2 on the 25% base resist and 3 on the base 0 resist).

ECM's are useless on POS's....sieged dreads aren't affected by electronic warfare. just makes it easier for them tbh

They would just shoot disruptors and ECM batteries first. Same as low sec / 0.0 POS high sec POS will not defend itself solo against any semicompetent attacking force. It's there to give advantage for defending gang.
As far as defence setup goes it depends on defence gang size and if you will have POS gunners present. If you have 1 - 2 POS gunners then warp disruptor + 4 medium guns per gunner is reasonable, 5 hardeners and rest of the grid filled with small guns or ECM or whatever feels like good idea.
If you know there is no defence gang coming and want to just annoy your attackers, then 5 hardeners, few scrams, some ECM + as many small guns as you can squeeze in is good idea. A lot of small guns is best idea also if you do not have POS gunners coming.

Why small guns? More targets for the besiegers to shoot at = more time being wasted?
Why does everyone hate missiles?
Would this advice also apply to a cyno jammed system (no dreads)?

Then bs's would just take out the cyno outside scram range and then send in the dreads, again nullifying the whole thing
