This is such an awesome example of American humor that I feel a similar example must be posted.
Springtime for the German.
It's not about that bad fellow, it's a mockery of the American Musical concept. ----- TANSTAAFL

The aim of politics is to keep the populace alarmed and clamorous to be saved by menacing it with imaginary hobgoblins. The urge to save humanity is a false front for the urge to rule it. |

Seen it a good while ago. Feels quite quite forced at times. I'd give it a 6.5 out of 10, at most. Guess it would be a lot funnier if you're actually American (for completely different reasons), but for the rest of the world, not THAT funny.

American humor and British humor are two beasts, they cross over on many things but things we find so funny we wet ourselves Americans may just look on in disgust.

He has the Jalapeno on a stick too, do some careful searching on youtube, most of his recent DvD release is on there.

props for doing the terrorist joke thing and probably getting a hit put on himself, seriously though this guy isn't funny, or entertaining, or even clever, he makes Carlos Mencia look like the unholy offspring of George Karlen and William Shakespeare. ... Why do I PvP? Because I love the feeling I get when I see the pretty lights and know that someone somewhere is screaming incoherently at their computer screen. |

Nationality is important because different nationalities have different sets of experiences. Ten years ago Achmed would not have been so funny to USers. Ten years ago we didn't have the same experiences to draw upon. Similarly, people in other countries, who just don't have the same view on matters as we do here, might not appreciate the humor of Achmed in the same way we do.
Keep in mind that I am very confident in my personal definition of humor. I am sure of my sense of humor more than I am sure of my political or religious beliefs. Humor is when someone could have been hurt, but wasn't. Humor is a dangerous situation diffused, sadness ameliorated, pain that could-have-been. Humor is facing something that has been injurious in the past, but by looking at it in a frank and honest manner, you render it non-injurious for the future. "To laugh in the face of danger" is not a statement of courage or a contradiction in terms, it is exactly why we feel "humor" as an emotion. It is what gives us strength. ----- TANSTAAFL

I fully understand that not every person will enjoy the video (can't please everybody). It's just the one comment that boggled my mind was the "being brainwashed by american culture". It makes me wonder if somebody out there actually watches a random video and go, "Normally I would find that amusing but since it's from a different nationality I won't laugh".
This makes me wonder now if I've been brainwashed by the europian culture as I like movies like Monty Python and Hot Fuzz. Or should I be more 'american' and try my hardest to keep a straight face while watching them (which won't last of course).
This also makes me wonder if everyone is brainwashed by those wacky japanese shows as tons of people love to watch the crazy stunts they pull over there. Hell I wish I had a regularly subscribed channel.
Maybe I'm just crazy or something but to not laugh at something for the sole reason of nationality/political agenda to me seems like those people live in a sad world. Even just saying "It's not funny" is a better reason.

I remember a Bill Hicks routine where he attacked Carrot Top - who was the most popular comic in the US at the time. He (rightly imho) pointed out that being 'popular' didn't necessarily equal 'talented' or 'funny'.
I smirked at the achmed bit for about a minute, and then I realized it's just not that original or funny. Give me a well turned routine over a succesion of tired gags and stereotypes any day.

Personally I could never stand carrot top except for one time when he pulled out a neighborhood watch sign. He said it took him 2 hours to pull that thing off. That made me laugh.
