Next time try the: "This isn't the failed thread your looking for," its much more effective.
On topic (well the new topic): EQ II should get more love than it does, while I don't play it anymore (EVE takes up too much time!), it really is a great game that has gotten 10X better since release.

D&D is still up, except Codemasters run it, so it's crap.
The game was rubbish anyway. So much scope and content they could of poured into it, and it's pants.

To be honest, it's not really a decent comparison without subscription numbers for (you guessed it) World of Warcraft.
Like it or not, the market leader should be on there to provide context.

no it shouldn't.
I've put it on it flatens out EVERY SINGLE MMORPG ON THE MARKET. to a single line.
you don't put heavy weights in a light wieght tourny numnuts.
just like you don't put T3 highschool football teams in the same ranking as the T1 highschool teams.
that's why the site I used breaks it up.
0-100,000 subs
100,000-300,000 subs
300,000-Whatever subs
If an indie band makes more sales than every other indie band they are considered the best selling indie band. they don't even compare to other markets though.
point in case no one gives a **** if some hextics style MMORPG has 10 million subs. think about it.
Also I didn't included them but the only game leading EvE-online in this Tier is Fanal fantasy online with 430,000 subs.
Guess what 100,000 subs for an online game is HUGE. put all those people in a room it matters.

I like how eve is the only mmo on that list with a consistant gain of subs with no chartable losses ever.

I guess your manners are as good as your spelling.
Is there any game on the same tier as WoW, or does the MMO market basically boil down to 'WoW' and 'all the rest'?
As I said, it gives some context - I don't know how many subscriptions WoW has. You've said that 'Guess what 100,000 subs for an online game is HUGE'. What does that make a game with the subscriptions that WoW has?
As for you point about nobody caring about WoW having 10million subscriptions - investors and the stock market will. If EVE continues to become more popular, then some larger company like Sony or Blizzard may take interest. CCP is currently privately owned, so it's currently protected from a hostile takeover, but if CCP ever decides to become listed (say it needs more money for hardware/software updates than they can currently obtain), then it runs the risk of being bought out.
Sure you can live in a small goldfish bowl and only compare EVE to every other small MMO out there (FF11 is a borderline exception) and brag about how it's always consistently growing, but numbers like that need a context and that context is usually against the market lead.
Ignoring WoW in a chart of MMO subscriptions is like comparing sales of soft drinks and leaving Coca Cola and Pepsi off the list. Like it or not, it is significant.
If you're having problems scaling the numbers to the graph, let the line leave the chart and put text numbers above the time points, or some other transformation. Just don't pretend it doesn't matter.

I'm sorry but eve is not some fizzy soda pop mmo to give the kiddies a nose tickle so that they giggle to their little hearts content as they harmlesly play about as a prancing elf or cunning wizard. No good sir Eve is a fine liquer enjoyed by ruthless killers thats only getting better with age. TBQFH Eve deserves it own chart all to itself.

ok lets put it another way.
gutair hero sold about 1 million copies putting it on the all timers classic whatever thing.
WoW currently has 10 million subs.
as you can see gutair hero must be tiny and obsolete.
Also somehow to seem to think that not everyone and their mom already knows that there is WoW, then 2nd life, and then everything else.
the last article in the new york times about morpgs and the market stated just this.
it's WoW
and everything else.
here a fun fact 14 million Xboxes have been sold. the top selling game is only at 5 million copies sold.
WOW IS BLOATING AND EVRYONE ALLREADY KNOWS IT RULES THE MARKET.
but it makes you happy I'll post it so you can j*** off to it.
Also what's wrong with my english everyone else seems to understand me :P now get off the forums.
