Last couple I've been frigging around playing games with a few "experts" in democracy and I am sad to say boys and girls, that like all things in this game, NOTHING is gonna change because the "vets" SAID SO.
I have been totally and unashamedly wrong in trying to debate things, let alone try to change things.
It's NEVER gonna happen!!!!!!
So don't be a MORON and FORGET to rally behind a highsec candidate to make SURE that, this, the absolute and unequivocable epitomy of democracy is fullfilled to it's maximum. . . . . Now if only we knew who they were......... . . . . Who are you?
Nullsec democracy is an oxymoron. Bloc voting for-áalliance candidates is Democracy for Morons 101. Let them perish in their self-interest.

Apostle, even if your intentions are real, placing too much emphasis on negative re-inforcement without reasoning is just going to make it a troll thread.
( It actually makes me question wether you are simply trying to help the Goons, tbh )
The goons do this all the time with repetition, one liners of disrepute, other stupidity, mostly its obvious, half are just clowning around of course.
What does seem apparent however, is there is a lull in posting atm, which makes me think that the last couple of weeks have exhausted the topic material and people are waining when looking at it.
It might get an injection of course, it's only my observation of events since Thursday. That and CSM voting isn't for two months. Also CCP haven't chimed in on a few points which are dragging their heels.
Don't let it stop you posting of course, your entitled as anyone, but as a "suggestion" can I just recommend you make it pro-active, just a thought? |

There is a certain rhythm to these posters. A big brouhaha, re-chewing old topics. Then what appears to be an inevitable spiral into drunk posting and eventual self destruction. |

The bug I brought to the attention was a critical one that broke one of the most important parts of the game which are roles. Of course you don't have any QA skills which isn't something you don't do or have any skills for. Sitting in your parent's basement coming up with genius ideas like trying and convince yourself (because CCP won't listen to you) that it's better to dilute the voting population's value of a vote based on region players lives in. CCP listens to one thing only. Money. That's why they assign 1 vote for every paying account. You are more than entitled to vote however you want but you are a dumb child thinking you can influence how CCP will organize the CSM's. The Mittani's done a pretty good job and your high-sec representative, Trebor, does like to admit that the CSM6 team is quite an effective one.
There's another thing that you fail to notice because it's obvious you've never held a job where you were required to abide by an NDA tied to the economic life of a company. The CSM6 Team like all teams before them cannot release information at their own prerogative without CCP's permissions due to the NDA all those participants signed. It's no different from when I was working for NitroSecurity and they got bought out by Intel Corporation through their subsidiary, McAfee. I couldn't say **** for weeks because it's insider trading. The CSM team also does not formulate or push ideas to CCP, they only give their feedback on ideas that CCP pitches to them. But of course, you the child, don't know that. |

2) Made squillions doing code mods/QA with the Millenium Bug. Do you remember those days?
3) I'm old enough to have kids sitting in my basement.
4) CCP does listen to money. 67.6% of players are in highsec. Less than 5% are Goons.
5) Trebor ain't gonna say CSM 6 is "bad" now is he? Duh.
6) BS. The CSM MAY give feedback about what CCP suggests but THAT is not their primary role. Read the CSM whitepaper.
7) I'm NOT appealing to CCP..... But keep my thread right up there fella. Thx.

You're the one screaming and flailing to get CCP's attention to go with your vote dilution idea which they won't do. But with the way you conduct yourself, you are a child rather than some adult you claim to be. Why is this? Because you start coming up with dumb conspiracy theories of how we're alts posting but you said it yourself. There's over 4000 goons in the GSF alone which there's more throughout the CFC which I wouldn't be surprised if the number is in the neighborhood of 20,000 paying accounts.
Especially you missed the whole point I was making contrary to yours. You create failed threads in an attempt to garner CCP's attention whereas I made 1 singular thread and gained 3 CCP responses while not being the whailing idiot like you.
Of course there you go again with another conspiracy theory going "Oh of course he won't" about Trebor. You cannot read people's minds nor do I tend to read yours but I can read your actions no different than I can read Trebor's actions. At first I thought Trebor was a nutcase because of the fact he's a big anime fan, names his killer robots after anime characters, etc. But I got over that and Trebor does not do a bad job at all as the guy who keeps the minutes including pushing back against CCP over the failed concept such as WiS.
Hey, you did acknowledged my point which they do listen to money so that's why they will never back away from 1 vote for every paying account. Voter participation will always be optional in this game like most elections IRL. |

My "flailing system" will allow EVERY SINGLE PAYING ACCOUNT to ALSO have a single vote. I also said it's up for discussion but for some - a discussion is no more than chance for them to grandstand their obvious "vet" expertise.
Get real. CCP is not THAT stupid to see past this obvious fudging of the context. I give them far more credit. Stop being so frigging patronising.

The view being promoted seems to be to allow others to use self-initiated behavior rather than fear based dominance, as this works better as its a "choice" the individual makes for themselves given the evidence. Sticking to hate rants won't win you many freinds. |

Pro-active posts are for highsec crybaby/moron/pubbies/scrubs who have never been in null, hate PvP, make too much money with no risk and do not contribute to the game EVR!!! Haven't you worked it out yet? Goons and their posting alts will blob/post your ass clean out of Eve and any half-decent post 90% of forum posters make is lampooned/hijacked/debunked/raided/smacked or slagged. It works doesn't it? So I play a little "come get me" from time to time. Indulge me. Motivation: Get FAIR CSM representation. If I'm wrong, vote Goons. Problem solved. Psssttt: As for the Goons "break" in posts - they're busy. Only the "I'm not fighting 'cos I'll lose my ship" ratting fraternity is posting atm. Chillax. My view is allowing others to use self-initiated behavior rather than fear based dominace always works much better as its a "choice" the individual makes for themselves given the evidence. But you stick to your unsubstantiated hate rants if you like and see how stupid it makes you look. Stupidity is nothing I've ever shied away from nor neglected as a personal trait. It's still head and shoulders above half the crap I see around here.
But "unsubstantiated hate rants" - ouch - but you don't know the history do you?
EDIT: self-inititated behavior. Clever use of the definition of "can't be ******". Nullsec democracy is an oxymoron. Bloc voting for-áalliance candidates is Democracy for Morons 101. Let them perish in their self-interest.

Your proposal based off of regions of space and that is diluting the vote. When 100% of the null-sec / wh-space / CSM chair (Really they're all the same anyways) votes for the CSM candidates they want which numbers at 24000-30000 votes which are restricted to only 5 null-sec / wh-space / CSM chair candidates vs 3300 (Trebor's vote numbers) votes split across 2 high-sec candidate and let's hypothetically assume 1500 for the low-sec guys. The value of a high-sec / low-sec vote is 3 times better than the null-sec / wh-space / CSM chair votes. You obviously do not understand dilution. Hence why CCP will keep the way the system is because it's 1 vote 1 account without any consideration for how many secondary restrictions there may be. |

(I heard the loonies are really good at numbers and facts).
Fact: CCP KNOW there is a problem with voting in the CSM. They seek to change it. Will it actually work or is "transferable votes" a a way to prop up the numbers to make it look better until they can come up with something else?
Numbers: Don't know the exact number but FUCKALL voted for the last CSM. This INCLUDES lowsec/nullsec residents. You tell me how wrong I REALLY am?

Two differnt player bases only interested in thier aspect of the game. Both by your logic doomed to perish in their self-interest. tbh, I read this question and thought "Haven't you been READING!!!".... I went outside for a smoke, kicked the cat and made another drink. While I was doing this it made me think on how to describe (for want of a better word) my motivation.
Alliances bloc vote from a sense of loyalty to their alliance. No question. This is admirable and for truth, must be commended - as naive as it may be sometimes to an outsider.
One area I am absolutely adamant about, and very concerned about, is voter apathy in highsec. There HAS to be a reason. Laziness and self-interest MIGHT be a reason but by and large, Eve players are pretty smart so most of this declaration is trolling and being silly IMO.
So I set about looking at suggesting THE PLACE as something to be loyal to. Not a person. Not an alliance. A PLACE.
If Nullseccers are "truly" Nullseccers they'll do their absolute to get their best candidate in - for - guess what - THEIR PLACE in space. Goons don't vote for Red.Legion because Red.Legion don't represent THEIR SPACE. Think about this.
SO, strangely enough, I'm a moron for suggesting Highsec do the same - by engaging Highsec punters with A PLACE. "The alliance" cameraderie is simply not possible and this is well known, even if refuted for whatever reason.
I say bring it. THE PLACE.
What YOU call YOUR PLACE is totally your call and I do NOT seek to change that much about the CSM selection process except to make it about THE PERSON IN THE PLACE - not THE PERSON WHEREVER.
It's actually a pretty simple concept. Some are reading far too much into it. Nullsec democracy is an oxymoron. Bloc voting for-áalliance candidates is Democracy for Morons 101. Let them perish in their self-interest.

Now, some people like to twist that around. They say, 'If you don't vote, you have no right to complain,' but where's the logic in that? If you vote, and you elect dishonest, incompetent politicians, and they get into office and screw everything up, you are responsible for what they have done. You voted them in. You caused the problem. You have no right to complain. I, on the other hand, who did not vote -- who did not even leave the house on Election Day -- am in no way responsible for that these politicians have done and have every right to complain about the mess that you created."

Completely wrong, unfortunately.
The official CCP numbers says that 66% of CHARACTERS are in high-sec. You know as well as I do that people plant trade alts in the market hubs; there are high-sec mining alts for low / null sec players as with high-sec hauler alts, trade alts, etc. Which means you cannot directly skew and say PLAYERS.
So no, not 67% of PLAYERS. It is a meaningless number and trying to quote it as players is about as stupid as suggesting we need to separate the game into groups for CONCORD security status.

Let's be honest.
Security Status defines the speed of CONCORD response to aggression. It does not define how safe you are. You may be safter in 0.0 than in some areas of 0.9.
The activities in-game, such as mining, hauling, industrial production, scouting, combat fleets, planetary interaction and so forth are spread across all of New Eden.
The CSM selection process should focus on game areas; not on how fast CONCORD will respond.

That sounds better; thanks Ruby.

What of it? You are the one trying to mandate voting along CONCORD response times I think that is foolish. As Ruby suggested above - better have candidates stand and be voted in for what they want.

I see what you did there.
Well, you want a set of High-Security candidates, a set of Low-Security candidates and a set of Null-Security candidates. What is that other than mandating voting along CONCORD response times?
You do realise people mine in high-sec, low-sec and null-sec? And that a candidate running for, for example, mining improvements will be able to impact on all of them? The same with Incursions, Production, well ... just about all aspects of EVE. Very few activities in EVE are restricted to a single security status.
So what would a "high-sec" candidate DO? Work on faster CONCORD response times?

One of my KEY points on this idea emphasised where multiple sectors have the SAME issue then CCP need to take it as a given. So mining, using your example, with it's inherent faults WOULD be represented properly across all sectors.
But you want HS examples. How about L4 missions. Many are just plain tedious, there have been no new ones added since I can't remember and it is NOT a nullsec/lowsec issue. So a highsec candidate can push for that to get changed/modified. If BOTH highsec candidates agree then it's clearly an issue and must be dicussed by the CSM.
If nullsec/lowsec candidates disagree with making any changes, which they might, and they can, they'd still need to show at least a modicum of reasoning behind any veto.
You see, this guarantees that topics will be at least HEARD from the perspective of the sector and debated AS A WHOLE. Even if the CSM has a weak moment and concedes to a change that is bad for the game then CCP will roflstomp it.
All this BS about democracy/vote diffusion etc. is just blowing smoke. The CSM is nothing more than a committee to represent the views of ALL players and my idea is a way to guarantee that ALL sectors are heard and "alliance politics" and "us and them" - is actually taken out of the equation...

Alt swing both way. Null spy, null LP farm alt, low sec gank alt and so on. PMS |

TOBY Mr. Willis teaches 8th grade social studies, and Mr. Willis knows very well what the article says. It says which shall be determined by adding the whole number of free persons. And three fifths of all other persons. Three fifths of all other persons. They meant you Mr. Willis. Didn't they? Single-Shard, Player Driven Sandbox.

A few thoughts.
1. Level 4 missions are not a HS issue. They are a Mission Runner issue and probably focused on the type of mission (Courier, Security, etc.) They are spread across 0.1 and 1.0 in terms of security status with the better rewards towards the lower security status systems. So, try again on that count, please.
2. If you have a proposal for Missions, why have you not created a thread in the Assembly Hall, promoted it in GD and seen if you can get sufficient support for it so the CSM is forced to discuss it?
Sorry, but your whole idea is still pretty much bullshit. |
