Anyone else notice the volumes on some of the junk Tech I stuff have been changed? Was this done intentionally? I don't think a Remote Sensor Booster I really needs to take up 100.0 m3 of space in my cargo when I'm trying to pick up my mission loot... (all the variations only take up 5.0 m3)

It's intentional but way way overdone on many items.

Yesterday I picked up 50 prisoners in a mission, taking up 375 m3 (7.5 each and a mass of 560 kg IIRC) These guys are no doubt too pampered to be prisoners. 7.5 m3 and 560 kg!! Must have been Jabba the Hutt and all of his mates.
Was actually a tight case considering the trunk filled with missiles and some other loot... ___________________________________________ The truth is in the eye of the be(er)holder |

any1 saw the heavy pulse laser (medium size) and dual heavy pulse laser (large) the medium is 100m and the dual heavy is only 20m how the hell can that be normal:S
atm i cant even rat and loot in the same ship

FFS guys read the patch notes already.
Yes, it was done to discourage compression. Yes, its only fot T1 producible items, not named. Yes, its kinda wrong for some items.

Prisoners and other "trade goods" have not been changed, BTW - they've been like that always.
And I see no problem with 1 passenger adding 7.5 m3 and 112 kg to your cargo. They dont lie in packs down there, in your cargo bay, its some sort of compartments that you load in, or any other feasible way of transporting people in a spaceship.
Remembering that 7.5 m3 is less than 2x2x2 meters compartment (thats external dimensions!) so its quite realistic.
Also, how much an airline chair weighs? Average human is about 70 kg or so, so you have about 40 kg for all their stuff (if any) + transportation gear...
Arguable, but there's nothing in 560 kg and 375m3 for 50 people I think. Arent these numbers the same for all transportable passengers (dancers, militants, slaves, etc...)?

R you sure you checked T1 heavy? Because named ones stayed the same. Only producible T1 gear have been changed.

yea both t1, and i dont think its wrong to change the volumes of t1s but come-on change it to something normal to overdone like this:S

They've been changed to correspond to amount of minerals needed to produce them, or a bit less. What's "normal" by your definition? And the large one should probably be 250 or something.

Thanks for the info, I read the patch notes but didn't understand the mineral compression thing when I posted... Looks like I'll be leaving some $%^# in jetcans after missions more often

Luckily, you have lots of named stuff in the loot usually. So no big deal, just sort the loot.

Thats just it, militants (or what they're called) are 2 m3 each, which is quite a difference. The mission I did was Rogue Slave Trade 1, easy peasy 6 rat mission I have done loads of times before without any hassle. But yesterday I had to jet all my loot and some missiles to be able to get the prisoners back to my agent. Maybe prisoners were always 7.5, if so the number of prisoners have changed. Or they were (as militants) 2 m3.
Not arguing with the realism of 7.5 m3 (even though 560 per person, especially slaves, is a bit hefty), I'm argiung with the relative size to before patch/other passengers. ___________________________________________ The truth is in the eye of the be(er)holder |
