I am currently in Iraq and cannot connect the eve servers directly. I have had to either use tunnels or proxifiers to get a connection. So will there no longer be support for those of us that have to use a proxy to connect to the eve servers. I have been looking over the forums for a fix but as of yet have not seen one. Also i have noticed that you can no longer change the ip you connect to and trying to change the boot file will give you an error message.
Is there a way around this or am i just screwed. If i am screwed I would rather know now so i can just cancel my accounts cause no need in paying for a product that i can no longer use. Kinda sad i there will not be a fix as i have been paying customer since july 2003.

I was wondering about this too. I can't connect without a tunnel, and they appeared to have suddenly removed the support for it. |

I've got the same problem, trying to connect from out of a local school's connection in the library, no go with proxies. It USED to just pick it up from the "internet options," but it seems to have lost support for that.

Saw this....it works (I created a second Shortcut and called it "EVE proxy" so i can still use the non-proxied connection at home)

Just wanted to add the following: if you were used to change the server to 127.0.0.1 to use with for instance http-tunnel or some other http tunneler, you can do the same trick, executing from cmd line:
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /server:127.0.0.1:26000
Or changing your shortcut icon on your desktop to have that target...
Worked like a dream, but it's obscure so many people won't find it.

Wait...so then how do I modify that to work with my proxy here?

It has been chronicled elsewhere in more detail, but the way I use it is as follows....
Home computer running sshd, laptop running putty tunnelling port 26000 to home computer's ip/port 26000 all over port 22
Not sure if that helps or not...

Not much...too many things in that sentence that I don't know the meaning of. I'll need to look it all up to make some sense out of it..
