my test copy would not start if the shortcut had the /LUA:OFF setting. I removed that, and it started like normal.
When that was present, i got what you go, splashscreen, then nothing, but task is running.

ok... copy the "dx9.stuff" files works. when u save these files, u dont havnt dling again. but u have to run the game befor the client says that u already have the content. in my mind, the login should note this and start the install. ...atm u have to wait in the queue
BUT: i have still my problem. i start the game, splashscreen, client starts -> taskbar shows game is running, but i cannot switch in.

I had the same problem so i reset the cache. (u should be running the game with /end /lua:off and this will put the cache folder in your eve test directory). just delete the cache folder in your eve test directory and give er a go!
I think its something ot do with the client accessing anti-aliasing settings when you try to tell your card to deactivate em.

Read this
The stage we're at, you need to delete your cache for it to work. Probably want to backup first.

ok I have sorted the cache but still, same as OP, short splash followed by thing on taskbar and no running... slightly irritating, took a long time to download and I'd like to try it out!

Getting the same problem. Game will load splashscreen, and then collapse to the taskbar.
The logserver spams the same message:
137172007.11.28 02:40:15:2876507 : trinity.TriDevice: HRES:none(none)
137182007.11.28 02:40:15:287There is no D3D device available
Hope this helps the troubleshooting.
P.S. I had Sisi running fine earlier. My gfx card is an 8800gts.

Aha, fixed it!
Go to your cache directory in your sisi folder. Edit prefs.ini, and set bloom=0.
Mine was set at 2, which I guess is a problem.

Edited by: HeavyGunz 0331 on 28/11/2007 06:29:36 Here is my problem. My sisi works fine but my current client doesn't. Did the whole clear cache and /LUA:OFF thing and still doesn't work. It starts up you see the splash screen then it goes "invisible" and never shows login screen. Know its still there bc task manager.
Any suggestions?
Edit: already sent bug report with log file

Edited by: Amida Ta on 28/11/2007 08:27:49 This seems to happen if you set Bloom to Medium and then try to restart. Wrote about it a few times already ;)
Most simple solution is to delete your prefs.ini

Edited by: Cygnus Zhada on 28/11/2007 09:41:31 I had a similar problem last night, I logged into sisi with no problems earlier, downloaded the patch, the graphics bit and played the game. Then I logged out and after a while I tried again.
Just the short loading/logo screen, after that; nothing. You could see the .exe file and on the taskbar you also could see the program running, but nothing happenend. The I cleared my cache in my own way (keeping pref.ini, settings and pictures/potraits folders) which normally is enough... no use. Then I deleted the cache completely.
Then it worked again.

If you use the /end LUA thingy (which you should) then the cache will be in the actual EVE-testserver install folder, NOT in the documents folder.

You DID use the "/end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50" extra bit on the shortcut, right? If so, locate your EVE test install folder, in there you'll see the cache folder.
If you DIDN'T use "/end /LUA:OFF" (which will/could crate problems for your normal install) then it's to be found in c:\documents and settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE". Understand that Both the Local Settings folder as Application Data one are hidden system folders.
Go to your viewoptions in windows and enable 'see hidden files' and 'see system files'. That should do it.

I made the mistake of activating HDR and Bloom whilst running the new graphics.
I now have the problems everyone else seems to have.
I load the client, get the splash but after that all i have is the eve client running, no login screen and when i maximise the window it seems to go to the top left corner of my screen(like windows do when you run in window mode) and then i get nothing.
I just did a full reinstall and it achieved nothing, i dont even have a cache folder anymore nor a prefs so i dont know where its getting any instructions from.
