I'm thinking a nano Rapier since I could cycle my MWD once, cloak before being locked, and hopefully glide safely through the bubble. [Yes, yes, its cowardly to use a Nano ship. "Just made for running away", heard it all before. Thats kind of the point in this case! :p ]
Anybody got any better ideas?

I would say MWD Covops but that's pretty much the same thing except the Covops is smaller and things will lock it slower.
However if you have mastered the ninja flicker you're pretty much safe.

Jump over them in a capital or one of the new Black Ops once they're out.
CFW (Certified Forum Warrior) I kill people ingame too.

Recon/Covops with cloak + Mwd should be miles away in the +/-10s it takes a dictor/ceptor to realise you're there and head off towards your general direction. Alot of luck is involved though, and you need to time it right as well as pick a direction 90 degrees off the line of the gate towards you.

Except the Amarr Pilgrim ;)
Currently to be able for combat one has to drop the MWD on Pilgrim. So Pilgrim has an issue if it is in a bubble and cloaks. All other race's recons can do the trick :)
Ya know I had to point it out... didnt you? __

I like sending my alt through in a noobship. By the time the camp is done locking, scramming, and popping the alt my main has already warped away

The absolute best ship and setup of all to get through gate camps (coming from either side) is a fast interceptor with a cloak.

Put a cloak on it and it won't matter if they have something faster. speed + cloak = win

Most secure tactic is to use a really fast ship and run to the gate. By the time they have locked you and put a webber on you you're already at very high speed and thus will easily make it to the gate. You just gotta take care not to get bumped.
Using cloaks is very risky unless you're in a covert ops or a cloak recon. The reason for this is cloaks slow you down. If the campers now what they are doing they will decloak you easily.
Another possibility is to run away into space. This only works if you are faster than any ship in the camp. And of course you shouldn't try this if there is a Minmatar recon with the camp.

The cloak is for getting out of the bubble when you jump through a gate into a camp. That's why a fast interceptor with a cloak is better than just a cov ops (although I have made it through camps up to the gate in a cov ops a few times). Coming from one direction you use a combination of speed and cloak (turn on mwd and cloak) to get out of the bubble and then align, uncloak and warp off. Coming from the other direction, you use raw speed to get through to the gate and jump through.

Yeah, I think everybody's pretty much codified the ships which can fairly safely get through a bubble camp...
Recon + cloak (force recons + cov ops preferred) Cov ops frigate + cov ops cloak Interceptor (possibly w/ cloak)
Keys to getting other ships through are high speed and possibly a cloak. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

Actually I would rate as follows: 1. MWD cov ops - should work 100% of the time to get through. 2. Interceptor - should work like 98%+ of the time. Needs fast locking Huginn/Rapier and fast Nano-ships closeby to catch it. 3. Force Recon - should work like 80% - 90% of the time. They need way longer to align, thus a fast inty can uncloak and tackle. As Nano-ships are common, Force Recons got issues here. __

I use a CovOps Frig with MWD, Nano and a Stab ;)
Don`t laugh about the Stab - saved my ass two or three times already (usually when undocking tho).

If you want as much safety as you can get:
Ares Improved cloak T2 MWD, named small shield extender 2*named WCS, 200mm plate, named DC
Not the fastest build there is (just 4km/sec), but survives a full set of officer smartbombs with no worries (DC isn't really needed). You can, and perhaps should, replace one WCS with a speed/agility mod. -- Gradient forum |

Rather prey they don't have a Huginn or Rapier, popular ships these days. ================================= [orange]Your signature exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Wachtmeister |
