Iv been looking through all the upcoming nerfs lately.
and well as a gallente only pilot specialised in tech 2 ships im left wondering, what ships is there any point in me piloting after the new rev patch?
currently everyhitng i look at i cant see anypoint in thinking about trying to fit it for pvp. im not generally one to whine, but my godwhats left to pilot after the nerfs?
If you can think of one ship that i can still use to solo kill 1 v 1 after the patch, let me know lol, cos im at a loss

I'd suggest you prepare for a lot of flaming.

See now, here's your problem. EVE is not (according to CCP) supposedly to be a solo game. Take your supposedly 'underpowered' ships into gang PVP and they will still excell, due to the fact that most of them ( Eos ) will still do their job: put out impressive DPS, or damp someones sensors to insensibility... (hehe i like that pun).
Don't be a loner. EVE just won't support you. * * *

Three max-bonused damps on specialist ship aimed at a BS with no (zero, zip, zilch) sensor boosters apparently give that ship about 16km locking range in test server. One sensor booster and we're talking about locking range equal to T2 scram range. This is not insensibility. -- Gradient forum |

erm scripts aren't on sisi as of yet and an arazu/lachesis can scramble from around 40km and sensor boosters have been nerfed as well, so i doubt that these 2 ships lost much of their solo capability.

Taranis is pretty nice, so is the Astarte (can actually work pretty well with either blasters or rails). Deimos (still) sort of sucks, for a variety of reasons.
I find that most of the people whining about "gallente overpower" haven't actually flown the ships, and aren't aware of the negative aspects (it's easy to point at omgpwn DPS on EFT, quite a different thing to get that DPS into actual use outside theory). Most whiners tend to play more EFT than Eve, it sometimes seems...
There were a few Gallente ships that were overpowered. Myrmi and Eos, mostly. Myrm is now pretty much ok imho, while the Eos got hit with a massive triple nerf that left it close to useless (loses out to all the other fleet commands now). Pity.
The damp nerf has the potential to hit Lachesis/Arazu pilots hard, just as the related TD nerf looks to be bad for Curse/Pilgrim pilots. We'll see what the final figures look like. With ECM being boosted, it remains to be seen if any other form of EW (than ECM) will be worth using in rev3.

Congratulations! You're a FOTM min-maxer. Don't worry. There are many more like you and they are all in the same boat. Start training something else. And to be perfectly honest, the ships you're specced in are NOT useless. They've just been brought in line with the rest of the game and are no longer god-mode, you whiny little b i t c h!

I agree with the OP. From the sound of it the nerfs are going to be a big FU to Gal PVP pilots. Its silly to run around yelling fotm when those are obviously nanno vagas.

I know Drommy was Gallente specced the first time I encountered him.
I will though state Drommy, the game isnt about 1v1s or consensual pvp, and it gets more and more like these every expansion, but the Mega, Domi, Ishtar and Myrmidon (even after nerf) still seem to be good options for solo pvp.
Dampeners will still have a devastating effect on lock range/lock time depending on the scripts, so its simply a balance and will certainly not render them useless.
To Spawny, a great guy, a great laugh. Rest in peace buddy.

Most of us do not train FOTM.
...and some of us have been flying Gallente ships for, say, 3+ years now. Among others.
I well remember when flying anything except Caldari missile boats in pvp was suicide. How times change.
My point stands: the vast majority whining about supposed Gallente superiority have never even flown the things, and have no idea of the real issues. They know how to use EFT and stare at the max theoretical DPS values and drool.

I think at least in 0.0 Space Minmatar is FOTM due to the Speed. Theoretical DPS values mean nothing there.

I agree with the op, And for the other whiners the only decent ships we had that could be nano'd effectively were arazu / lach and ishtar and the ceptors. Now all are getting nerfed sept for ceptors so basically we have no ships to zoom around in and not die.
Oh and i sorta wish i trained caldari ... pvp in cerebus hurt nano ships , and then when i die sit in a system for 2 hours in a raven and make lots of iskies.

Domi is a great 1 vs 1 vessel, as is the blasterthron (vs. all but minnies) and the hype(same as the blasterthron.)
Domi can still just about do it all. Since you can field 3 flights of heavies, or 2 flights and a bunch of utility drones, use that to your advantage. I am sure you can figure out what to do with its mids (MWD, web, scram, injector, 2x damps w/ locking time scripts) and a good tank in the lows.. guns or neuts in the highs. Now just scoop deploy your drones every 45 sec to 1 minute and they will never be hit by a BS that has to target them.
Blasterthron works just as well as it always has... MWD up and pwnface.. nothing has changed with it or the hyperion. Just don't pick a fight with a ship faster than you. How has anything really changed? ☺☻☺☻☺ SO how do you get me to stop posting? Bump this thread Until devs answer |

When the Gallente nerf hits, I wonder if the people who fly gallente can match the whines that were made by the Amarrians.
More so I'm currious to see if the Amarrians will just say the same thing to the Gallente pilots that were said to them.
Things that make you go hmmm.....

After the drone/damp nerfs.. gallente are still better than amarr sub-capital. So, we will just be whining together, but amarrians will have a reason to. ☺☻☺☻☺ SO how do you get me to stop posting? Bump this thread Until devs answer |

You really shouldn't be shocked and dismayed when the FOTM gets nerfed. Of course an FOTM min-maxer will get screwed then CCP brings it back in line - the only question is when it will happen.
As long as you aren't still flying the EOS you should be all right. ;)

the problem i have is that im often solo or almost solo against much larger forces, often our corp of 2 actives will go against corps of a 100 or more. so i need to be able to hit fast and run faster. tar is an awesome ship, but lacks fire power. lachesis iv found is an awesome boat, nuf firepower to take big ****, and when the cavelry arrives, wich it inevitably does im fast enuf to escape.
the problem with pretty much all gal ships is once uve engaged there is no turning back. thats the problem with blasters, ur 100% enaged with no way to escape when dealing damage. if there back up arrives before they go down, im screwed. And ya just know theres always something waiting on the otherside of the gate...

CCP have said all along that they want to make PVP a commitment. If you decide to engage, thats it, you are there until someone pops. That has always been the devs vision of PVP.
