been playing for a little over a Month now, doing well in level 4's and i have 8.6 Standing with Caldari Navy so i have access to Jump clones. I'd really like to gank some folks:P
Now originally i was going to go into Assault Frigs and up to HACS, but lately the Assault Frigs seem to be Catching a Lot of Flak, and i'm wondering what would be a good ganking ship for a relatively new Player (Minmatar Or Caldari)?
maybe i should train Frig 5 and grab interceptors? Or were Assault Ships a good idea? Perhaps its best to just use a Cruiser?
Not sure what route to take and i keep going back and forth...so any push in the right direction would be much appreciated, and also any tips on Fitting the particular ship would be cool.
Currently In Position to fly Minmatar/Caldari Ships, and with pretty good combat skills to support them, although Turrets seem to be the concensus for PvP.
Thanks, Sprig

You don't really need a T2 ship to gank. Cruisers can be very good too.
Actually I prefer flying my Stabber over my Jaguar, it's faster, more durable and with higher dps... go figure. ________________________________ All your honey are belong to us! |

Try the Rifter, with a classic 3x autocannon 1x rocket MWD web scram gyro with either a speed or armor tank. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

I used a rupture with very good effect when I did not have t2 guns etc yet. You will be limited in regards to range as you need t2 ammo (barrage) to really get range with autocannons, but it should be able to kill most if not any other cruiser and any frigates that get into webbing range. You can also use a stabber, which is faster and has a better chance to get out when things start going wrong, but in my opinion you really need the range on barrage to make the best use of a stabber.

*whispers* gankraaaaaaaax
Although it does mean training Gallante. In your case go rupture or Stabber (for mini-vagabond action). "I got soul but I'm not a soldier" |

Ya i have been intrigued by the thorax from time to time, seems like it could be a really cool ship.
I'm leaning away from training Gallente though as well an minmatar, mostly because my experience with minmatar ships has been quite bad thus far.
Anything in the Caldari Section that would be Viable? or no?

AFs don't take any time to train for, and as long as you didn't create your character as a miner you should be able to t2 an AF with minimal training.
Give them a try, maybe you will like them. I do :)

Ever think of training amarr too? Let me introduce our gank ship:
" Hull: Omen Class Role: Heavy Assault Ship
The Zealot is built almost exclusively as a laser platform, designed to wreak as much havoc as its energy beams can be made to. As a vanguard vessel, its thick armor and dazzling destructive power make it capable of cutting through enemy fleets with striking ease. Zealots are currently being mass-produced by Viziam for the Amarr Navy."
Now isnt that a ship youd like!

He'll like it, untill a Deimos rippes it apart .
Anyways, a gankrax can put out massive DPS. With your race choice the Rupture would be the way to go. I'll let the Minnie's do the setups

But if you have to go ruppie (and they are great ships) this is the same setup I use for them. Except I use 220s. :)
